| Emilys Week long Birthday or The Last vacation with Relatives Well, been sick but wanted to start my trip report. Adventurers Me (Dawn), Dh (Bart), DD (Emily), DM (Grace) and DB (Billy) Dates Depart from Home Thursday September 5th and Return home Monday September 17th Lodging Fort Wilderness Resort Cabin 2402 Occasion Emily's 4th birthday Can I stop now? [img]images/icons/rolleyes.gif[/img] Thursday Sept 5th : The Neverending Evening or How Dawn went slowly Crazy Well Emily has been all packed for over a week now. Bart has been packed for 5 days. Today is the day for me to pack. YUCK!!! What work!! The HORROR!!! [img]images/icons/grin.gif[/img] Ok that only took 2 hours. Now what the heck am I gonna do to pass the time til hubby gets home from work and we can leave. Hmmmmmm..... Look out the window.... run around double checking everything....... look out the window..... call Bart and ask when he is coming home (between 9-10pm as planned)...... double check everything again..... look out the window to see if Barts home yet....... Call and ask him when he is coming home....... You get the picture. [img]images/icons/wink.gif[/img] 9:37pm He is here!!!!!! He is HOME!!!!!!!!! TIME TO GO!!!! WHOOOOHOOOOO!!!! Bart jumps into the shower and I cant sit and do nothing anymore so I load the back of the truck. Sit and wait and wait and wait. Dang hubby takes Hollywood Showers. Knock on the door, "Do you need me to help you so you can get done?" "Do you really need to shave to drive for three days?" "Cant you put both socks on at the same time?" ERRRRRRR!!!!! Will we ever leave? Has time stood still? Sheeewwww 10:04pm finally he has his shoes on and is ready to hit the road. Final hugs and kisses for our poor dogs who will stay home. Tears cuz will miss them. Ok, enough lets go. YEEEEEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAA on the road at 10:15pm 5:43am Arrive at Moms and Wake the House Emily opens her birthday presents while grandma and grandpa watch with one eye open and coffee in hand. She has gotten a whole new bed outfit (bedspread, pillows, sheets, curtains, memory board and rug) She asks for more presents, [img]images/icons/rolleyes.gif[/img] . Mom pulls out more presents from Aunt Tonya. A doll dressed with mickey ears, mickey purse, mickey jean jacket. And a Pooh tea set. (Aunt Tonya goes to WDW twice a year). Time for Grandma and grandpa to go to work. Bart goes upstairs to sleep the day away til mom gets home from work. Time for me to sit and wait... and wait ..... and wait again. URGGGGGGHHHHH!! [img]images/icons/tongue.gif[/img] 3:15pm MOM IS HOME FROM WORK EARLY We eat. We pack moms luggage. Shewwww thought we might need to rent a Uhaul for all of her stuff. Pick up Billy and on the road we go , 5:33pm Ok, so am I doing this right? Just took more pain meds so gonna stop now before I get lulu. Stay tuned for To Stop or not to Stop, that is the question. | Re: Emilys Week long Birthday or The Last vacation with Relatives To Stop or not to Stop, that is the question To understand how, ummm difficult the car ride was you gotta understand one thing. We have a S-10 crewcab pickup. Me and Bart up front. My seat so far up I feel like I am part of the engine. Now my brother Billy is a big boy and he is sitting behind Bart. Emily is in the middle with my mother behind me. VERY VERY Cramped conditions. Bart makes sure everyone understands that he rarely stops and when he does you better use the restroom. NO EXTRA pit stops. Well an hour into our drive he has to "shake the dew off the lily". So we stop. Then another hour later he has to again, LOL [img]images/icons/grin.gif[/img] . Gotta love it when your man turns into a hypocrite. The Drive was pretty uneventful. When we got into central Kentucky everyone fell asleep. When we woke up we were past Atlanta. Love how time flies when you are sleeping. Mom keeps pointing out every Cracker Barrel that we pass for about an hour, so Bart finally stops at one for breakfast. We plan to make it to Lake City Florida before stopping for the night. We hit the Florida border at around 11am. To Stop or not to Stop, that is the question We decide to call Fort Wilderness and see if we can get the cabin a day early. YES!!! Our cabin is ready and waiting for us as soon as we want to arrive. No rest for the wicked so we drive straight thru!! [img]images/icons/grin.gif[/img] [img]images/icons/tongue.gif[/img] An extra day, oh my word!!! That means extra shopping time. We decide to try and find the Belz outlet mall on our way to WDW. Took some doing to find the correct buildings that contain the disney outlet stores. We arrive at Fort Wilderness at 5:40pm on Saturday. Stay Tuned for my next installment: Downtown Disney or The Day My world almost fell Apart or OMG Waiting on Mom AGAIN!!! (the beginning of the philosophy that no more vacations with mom) Wont be able to add to TR til Monday as my Brother in-law and his family are coming for the weekend. |
