Early Christmas Gift - Day 3

Who – MargaretJ & son Matt
Why – Christmas Gift
When – December 4-9, 2002
Where – Disney Boardwalk Inn

Day 3 – Friday December 6, 2002

Up again to the sound of the ringing phone & then Mickey’s voice over the speaker. Today I am glad I do not have shorts, I believe the temperature dropped about 35 degrees. Today was misting & downright cold. Matt wanted to go to Disney Studios again today so we could go to Who Wants to be a Millionaire – Play It. In June my 13yr old got in the Hot Seat & was hoping to again this trip. When the game ended they put up the scores & who was #1 but Matt, unfortunately the buzzer went off before they put up the scores so he did not get to be in the Hot Seat this trip. We also got to see Indy on this trip, it has been a couple of years since the last time & we both really enjoyed it. Matt & I are ready to head over to Epcot so we grab the boat & enjoy the ride over. It is just too cold to walk today. First up is Fish n Chips in the United Kingdom while listening to The British Invasion. Now this is the life.
We head over to Future World to ride Test Track, Journey Into Your Imagination, & the Land ride. Crowds are really not too bad today so waits were minimal. Of course before we head back to the resort we have to stop at Ice Station Cool (not fun on a cold day) & Norway so Matt can get an order of Lefse. He loves that stuff for some reason. Lefse is potato bread with butter & sugar/cinnamon on the inside rolled up. He has to stop by here every trip for some. We also stopped by to see the early Candlelight Processional performance, what we saw was awesome.
We are going to MVMCP tonight so we decide to enjoy the resort & rest a bit before heading out. We also wanted to check out the decorations at the monorail resorts so decided to drive tonight. We usually use Disney transportation for the 4 main parks. I should have known that we would not be able to get into The Contemporary when I saw the line to get in. The guard there would not let you in unless you were staying there or had a reservation to eat. Time was getting short & I really wanted to see the Grand Floridian again so we went straight there. What a difference, when I asked to guard if we could park there to see the decorations he said, “well of course you can, please come in”. Once more I am amazed by this resort at Christmas. It is so beautiful. As we were walking to the stairs to the Monorail we noticed a beautiful bride having her picture taken on the stairs. What a great picture I bet that turned out to be.
OK now on to the party. Boy the Monorail was really crowded, we barely got on & many people behind us got left. The Magic Kingdom was crowded, tonight’s party was sold out & there were wall-to-wall people. We decided to grab the Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Pin first & were glad we did. We waited about 35 minutes but when we left the line looked to be double what it was when we got there. It was very cold tonight, very crowded & I was not feeling well for some reason. We rode a few rides, did a couple of shows & ate at Pecos Bills. I think the crowds, the cold & my not feeling well was getting to me so we ended up leaving at about 930p. Matt was happy because he wanted to get back to the room & head down to the Spoodles Window for Pizza & to the Bakery for more cake. I do believe I have a little Disney Snob for a son now. He really enjoyed this resort as much as I did.

We were there this day too! It sure was cold. I ended up with a stuffy nose and sore throat afterwards.
