| Re: We\'re back and engaged! - May 20-25, 2003 - Completed! Wow, Brian!! What a wonderful way to propose. My eyes welled up and my palms began to sweat while I was reading the details of your proposal. It must have been a pretty overwhelming and magical experience for both of you. My DH and I will have to add LeCellier to our list of restaurants to try, also. Keep up the wonderful reporting!! I just saw the video;I am so glad that you were able to get a copy of it from another guest. Best wishes to you both! Happy planning!! All the best to you and Nicole! My husband and I are going to Disney World on a second honeymoon in December to celebrate our thirtieth wedding anniversary and your trip report will serve as an inspiration for us to always treasure the love we share. | Re: We\'re back and engaged! - May 20-25, 2003 - Completed! Friday, May 23, 2003 Day Four... We had to be up early this morning for our priority seating at Kona Cafe, but little did we know just how early we needed to leave. This is where we found one of the very few downsides to the Yacht Club (and Beach Club). Our PS was for 9:00 so we were at the bus stop around 8:15, hoping to catch the bus to Magic Kingdom and then the monorail to the Polynesian. Well we didn't see a bus for MK until about 8:45, and strolled into Kona at 9:30. Luckily it wasn't too busy and we were seated immediately. I had to try the Tonga Toast that you have all raved about, and I did enjoy it even though it was so sweet but filling. Nicole enjoyed some eggs and we were ready to head to MK. It was a little funny walking down Main Street since we were already halfway into our vacation. We always try to make it towards the beginning if not our first day, since it always makes us feel like we are "officially" in WDW. The park got busy quick, and we were finally seeing the Memorial Day weekend crowds that we had avoided the two days before. Still we were able to avoid most of the longer lines using fastpass. We decided to try lunch at Pinochio's for the first time. I'm not sure we enjoyed it quite as much as Pecos Bill's or Columbia Harbor House, but it was something different for a change. We finished most of the park and watched the parade before catching the monorail to Epcot. There were no fireworks or SpectroMagic tonight, so we would return to see them another night. When we were walking through Epcot to Yacht Club, we decided to stop first at the Leave a Legacy. We already had a tile of our faces from the Millenium Celebration, so we decided to get one with our names and engagement date on it. We then headed to the Kodak store inside the Imagination pavilion and got a crystal paperweight with our image made. We were surprised to find this was much more affordable than we thought at about $25-30. We would have to return to pick this up so we headed back to the resort to get ready for the night. Nicole could barely handle the surprises I had planned for our first day at MGM, so I agreed to tell her where we would be eating during our last few days. I also told her that we would be going on the Port Orleans carriage ride tonight. Since we needed to be there no later than 7:15 we decided to take a cab since it was much more reliable. We got to Riverside in time to get a snack before the last group came back from their ride. Kelly was the driver and Luke was the horse. This was a great experience, especially since we were originally going to stay at POR and love the resort. It's funny how many pictures get taken of you by other guests who are amazed to see this going around their resort. I'm not sure if this tour originally included French Quarter, but of course it was closed so we stayed mostly in Riverside. We really enjoyed this relaxing time, and recommend it to anyone looking for something different to do. We then took the boat to Downtown Disney where we had a reservation at Fulton's Crab House for 9:00. Nicole absolutely loves seafood so she was probably most excited about this meal. We decided to get their crab leg and lobster platter which can be shared. It was expensive but well worth it, as we walked out without being able to eat another bite. We were actually so full that we decided not to go to Pleasure Island, and instead headed back to the resort. Unfortunately tomorrow would be our last full day in WDW. On to Day Five... |

| Re: We\'re back and engaged! - May 20-25, 2003 - Completed! Saturday, May 24, 2003 Day Five... Our last full day in WDW. We headed to Animal Kingdom, hoping to catch our traditional breakfast at Rainforest Cafe before hitting the park. Unfortunately we arrived right at 10:00, which happens to be the time they stop serving breakfast, which seemed surprising to me. The hostess told us that the park would be serving breakfast until 10:30, so we did the fast walk to Tusker House hoping to avoid the crowd at Donald's. This proved to be a good move since we could pick up FastPasses to the safari and enjoy that after eating before it got too hot. Tusker House has a nice selection of breakfast foods, although we do prefer Rainforest Cafe. We made quick work of AK knowing that we had plans to visit MK that night for SpectroMagic and the fireworks. Plus we figured a break in between the two would allow us some time at Stormalong Bay. The park was crowded anyway, so we headed back to the resort around 2:00. As soon as we headed down to the pool the skies opened and one of those typical Florida thunderstorms began. Hoping that it would move out as quick as it moved in, we waited in the hallways with many other anxious guests. Unfortunately it didn't clear for some time, so we decided we needed to get back to the room so that we could have dinner before the evening events. I had originally had a priority seating at Artist Point at Wilderness Lodge, but we were a little worried about the transportation after it took so long to get to Poly the day before. So once we got to MK we decided instead to wait it out for Tony's even though there was quite a line. We agreed to take a seat in the outside covered area, and didn't actually end up waiting too long. Everything there was great as usual and we headed out to find a spot for SpectroMagic. We watched the parade in Frontierland and then watched the fireworks from Fantasyland. Since it was an E-Ride night we were able to catch one last trip through the Haunted Mansion before leaving the parks for the last time this vacation. Both of us couldn't help but feel a little sad knowing that we might not get back as soon as we would like, especially since we now had a wedding to plan and save for. Tomorrow we would head back home. On to Day Six... |
