| Re: Grumpygal\'s Solo Summer Sojourn (6/5 - 6/13) Last Day Finally Posted Joy, thanks for sharing your trip with us, it sounds like you had a great time. I am going solo in November, so I read this with particular interest. One question, did you feel awkward having a table for one at the sit-down restaurants? Also, was there any other time you felt awkward being by yourself, like on any of the rides? These are my only concerns, Everything else, like doing what I want to do when I want to do it and taking my time to "stop and smell the roses" are bonuses. I, too, feel like I'll be safe alone at Disney, even though I've never done it before, and I also share your beliefs that "do what you want, you're on vacation and you're never going to see these people again!" Can't wait to get coffee in my jammies! Thanks for helping to reassure me that I'm not nuts for going alone! |

| Re: Grumpygal\'s Solo Summer Sojourn (6/5 - 6/13) Last Day Finally Posted Thanks everyone for your comments and I'm glad you liked the report. I'm hoping to get the final thoughts together this weekend and get them posted on Monday. elbug10 - I never felt uncomfortable doing anything while I was down there. It felt perfectly normal to sit at a table by myself at the table service restaurants and I often found that I would get more attention from the servers making sure I was doing ok. I always had my journal with me so I would often use the time while waiting for my food to update my entries. And I felt just fine doing the rides too. Sometimes being solo can be a bonus because they will ask for a party of 1 or 2 and you can jump to the front of the line. I wouldn't let those things concern you at all. And if you get a chance go down to the Backyard section and see if there are any Passporter meets for when you're there. That's always fun too. |
