Picture the 7 dwarfs off to work with thier pick axes in hand visions of precious gems dancing in thier eyes as they sing thier happy song......off to work they go....

Now cut away to two little known dwarfs Wishful and Glee...who have other things on thier minds...visions of magic and castles, parades and fireworks pixie dust and special memories. They are packing thier knapsacks for a six night adventure , but first they must prepare the pets. Pux, Elly and Clem are not happy to be returning to the Kitty Condo for 6 nights and it is suspected there was a conspiracy to see who could cause the most chaos that morning on departure. The task performed I- Wishful informed him- Glee that I was perhaps ready to audition for the World Federation of Cat Wrestling. Proceeding to load all the attire and absolutely necessary other things left almost no room for the "wrestled cat cages"- good thing it was only a two dwarf trip becuse the other 7 would have definitely had to ride in the bed of the four door truck which is not that big!!!(WE could never fly there, we just tote to MUCH- WE left a note for them( the seven dwarfs) to watch the house( good thing because we Forgot to turn the Alarm system on . Must have been Dopeys fault After depositing the "Kernoodle" Family- that is the surname for the cats at the Kitty Condo...on to 75 we gooooooooooo. Of course Glee almost turned into Grumpy when I requested our stop at the Fla welcome station for my free orange juice. You have to remember we had only driven 15 miles since we got on the interstate...But I need rehydrating after my cat wrestling episode..Upoonm trying to Exit-.I then witnessed my " silly human trick of the day" Men standing across both doorways holding string lining them up with some kinda sensor....meanwhile no one can come in and no one can get out.....they are fidgeting with the string...people are gathering, they are twisting the string..it looking like the line at Rock and Roller Coaster..I'm thinking I shoulda got a fast pass to get out of the Welcome station....Oj is kicking in....I could hurdle it? Limbo under it.....I know if I dont exit soon, Glee may just leave with out me.....alas they stop what they are doing and decide to let us all pass.Good thing- us Northerner's(still considered one by all Floridians if you live anywhere NORTH of thier border) are only so patient- My husband asks, "What were you doing in there?" I answered "Standing in captive amazement to two state employee twirling string An intiguing new exhibition sport in the next summer olympics-.He just shook his head......

Time flew as we read the disney related billboards and remembered our last trip down that same road only 9 short months ago. Much anticipated weather forecast watching proved to be nothing to worry about. We arrived at the AKL at noonish....apprehinsively I approached the check in counter as Glee stayed with Bellman loading up the luggage- parked the car and met me in the Lobby...Would we be able to match the magic of our last room....had they recieved my room request disguised as a "Pixie Dust Request" yep Its October 3 2003 and the moment we had anticipated the most about the trip was beginning to unfold....To be Continued Day one part 2

Many apologies, I didn’t set the stage for this trip. This is the third in the Trilogy. A little confused. Fasten your trip reading belts, this one has a few twists in it.. not up for all the word detail, please advance to the white line and wait for the next available post!!

Ok Sherman ..Set the way back machine… September 17, 1976 Wishful and Glee, Honey moon at the Magic Kingdom staying at the Ho Jo on International drive for all of 22 American dollars a night (I am sure we had the honeymoon suite)….Wishful’s birthday is Sept 20- they are sitting at the Diamond Horseshoe Revue enjoying the entertainment when Wishfull- gleefully acknowledges its been her birthday all day long and she had plumb forgot about it…and so had Glee!! Wishful made a wish that some day they might comeback and celebrate those same life events!!!

Sherman Set the machine for September 17, 1978 Ah, magic was to be on that very same date, nope not a trip to Disney but the birth of a baby girl….many years passed the anniversary celebration oft gave way to daughters birthday. Disney trips came and went- Daughter marries- moves to Japan…….fast forward to December 3, 2002

This is where the First Book in the Trilogy- can be read in the trip reports.
Our first Empty Nesters Holiday Trip- All Star Movies …..Brief summary….two great days followed by four really not so good for Wishful and horrible for Glee. We cut our trip 4 days short also. So much for getting our moneys worth outta Annual Passes.

Book Two in the Trilogy which can also be read in detail in Trip Reports- begins in January 22ish where we are able to return, snag a room at AKL for incredible rate, then it gets upgraded to Savannah View.. A truly incredible trip…..we relive the magical moment throughout the summer as we sit on the porch in the evening…gazing longingly at our annual passes that do not expire until Dec 3 ‘03.. Wishful says just off hand she would love to go down for a weekend for her birthday to see the Philhamgic preview we could stay at All Stars…Glee will have nothing of going for just a weekend. “We’ll see” says Glee, meanwhile back in Japan, in Feb daughter calls and informs us we will be Grandparents…the babies due date…September 20 my birthday…..Okay we love Disney, but I could never be there worrying about my daughter so far away. We debate, discuss, debate, discuss, Call CRO make reservations for All Stars no discount September 29…..discuss debate, check mousesavers…rumor has it Annual Pass Rate for Oct. 3, I spend an hour on the phone, snag 6 nights at AKL at Glees request!!!! And that brings you up to date…..except theres one more piece of magic….
Daughter gave birth to her first child-a girl- Britain Cambria on yep you guessed it..September 17, our anniversary and her birthday……WE decided we would celebrate our anniversary, my birthday and the milestone of becoming grandparents the whole trip..whether it was on that exact day or not..Why??? Because we could after all sometimes you have to make you own magic!!!!

Day 1 PArt 2 continues...
I had tried to prepare myself for this moment....nothing could have compared to the room and the view we were upgraded to January...IT would be Okay- we were there. I had requested a King bed. Stepping up to the next available cast member with my best Disney smile shared my information with her, it appears as if the room request was never recieved- horrors?..oh well smile..."they have a king room that is an upgrade if we would like it....to .....sigh holding breath...pool view, breath smile...Dance sasshay, offer to pay more for a savannah view....."Sorry we are at 100 % capacity through the weekend..."
I accept the inevitable...as we are shuffled down the hall to an elevator , down to the 2nd floor, down the long hallway. -I had requested something Close to the lobby due to some of Glees limitations...cheer up ..pool view /not parking lot. Bellman notes that Hot tub is just one floor down and around the corner...Smile, breathe, nod. WE put our room key with Tinkerbell pixie dusting everything in the slot, open the door and the first thing I notice, no tub, it a roll in shower- Its also hard not to notice all the hair and assorted uncleanliness on the floor, and mirror. I bite my tongue, glance at the bedsread which looks like its lost a fight with and overheated clothesdryer, wrinkled and snagged...WE tip the bellman, and walk over to the window to open the curtains to our pool view..wait, I think theres a pool down there...but all we can see is two palms comeing from either side. I squat down, yep, theres water. Certainly if one strains a bit it could be construed as "Pool view" I would have put it in " The UP Close and personal with Palm Trees, and no view!!!It could be worse, we could be looking at cars... I insisted on calling mousekeeping and having the bathroom cleaned again, or might I be so bold to state, cleaned for the first time.I would ave immediately requested another room but the word we are at 100% capacity kept ringing inmy ears and Glee is not a confrontational person to we agreed to request the cleaning. WE couldnt get OUT of the room fast enough, which was so unlike last time when we didnt want to leave our room. WEll Wishful and Glee realized this was gonna be a working trip- they were gonna have to work at recapturing the magic and making new memories. They walked to the bus stop on a quest for fun!!!and some happier thoughts --Destination NOT MGM they had already lived the TWilight Zone Episode .....It had to be the happiest place on earth..Next stop, Magic Kingdom dont worry it gets a WHOLE lot better after today!!!But I must be truthful here, that bad room cloud stayed in the back of our minds the whole day, even though we didnt say anything to each other about it!!!!

Day 1 Part 3


Okay , back at the Bus Station….they settle in on a bench and wait for the arrival of their limo- oops I mean bus, but when its just you and the driver you call it a Limo.. They arrive at the Magic Kingdom well before 2:30- take the time to look at the posters in the tunnel. and grab the map and daily events schedule. They never stopped to see the posters before- always in too much of a hurry. They had two things on their agenda. Straight to City Hall for the “birthday button” and then a leisurely stroll down the left side of main street with destination Columbia Harbor House via the Frontier land bridge. People were getting their spots for the parade- but they opted to feed thier overly hungry bellies and then head to Fantasyland. Wishful and Glee ordered water and chicken fingers- sat in the back corner to see all the hustle and bustle outside and had a delightful lunch. Wishful made an attempt to find out if they might be testing the “wishes” fireworks, but the cast member she asked hadn’t a clue, although she was a delight to converse with and share her experiences with the college program. Belly’s full- it was time for a little fright delight and an appointment with 999 haunted hosts. No wait- the two were ushered with anticipation to a doom buggy- and then before they knew it we were out the exit. Wishful and Glee were able to spot the ring…and wandered their merry way on to Fantasy land . Feeling the need to fly over London and not wanting to wait so very long, they snatched a few fast passes. Now what to do next? Small world to the left ..but whats that up ahead, -Oh my in all the excitement of the day – Wishfull had forgotten the one thing she had wished for to see this trip- Disney Philharmagic….and joy of joys as they approached the entrance….it was open!!!!
With wee little shouts of Glee from them both- they donned their “glasses” for what would prove to be their favorite attraction of the trip. Great seats, great show, and a few pictures snapped in the gift area……only negative, - the duck butt just wasn’t in operation that day. They would have to return to see if the duck butt was up and running the next time.
Donald’s ride on the magic carpet made them want a little more space time- so Buzz light year was were the wind blew them next. Wishful and Glee didn’t score to well, of course Glee blamed wishful for her poor steering and Wishful told Glee she couldn’t shoot with her left hand , the picture of course was intense and hilarious, a very good laugh. Never liking to miss an opportunity to wisk themselves thru all of Tomorrow land- they boarded the TTA…..the wind in their hairs, the curving turns, the lightness the darkness a glimpse into each attraction….Wishfull saw it coming and Glee saw it going, opted to ride backwards the whole way. Nostalgia was thick as they wished the Carousel of Progress was open. Checking those fast passes they realized….time for the flight over London. On the way to see Peter and Wendy- They were motioned by a cast member in one of the gift kiosks. “Happy Birthday” she said, Have you spoken to Goofy today? “Why no I haven’t “exclaimed Wishfull- the cast member promptly handed Wishfull the phone and dialed a number, and who should come on the other end but their old pal Goofy singing and wishing a Happy Birthday. Totally magical moment!!! Peter Pans flight was due to depart, on they hopped to their sailing ship but not without a small chat with some folk from England about an old band named Toto- prompted by the shirt the fellow was wearing. Having spent so much time in “space” they decided they needed to spend some time in Earth- Spaceship Earth- that is.
A quick hop over to Epcot. Wishfull had to see if she could get a quick trip around Test Track….a spit of a sprinkle and announcement that they may have to delay the ride, only made her make a u-turn out of the line que- A Mickey Bar and Mouse gear served to be their next destination- a few post cards later –out the door to the pin station they headed. Wishful was very excited to find a new passholder exclusive pin and quickly added that to her collection. Spaceship Earth..next stop. Glee lamented how he would so miss this attractaction…..Feeling as if the day had been full enough- they opted to return to the Lodge and dine at Mara. Wishful had some soup, and Glee had the Tandori chicken pizza- Wishful was disappointed that there wasn’t any Sugar Cane chicken and no 100 years bar ice cream….perhaps they will bring it back and give it a new name. The highlights of the day so far had been Philharmagic, Goofys phone call and seeing the Magical Gathering’s Banner with Tink, dusting everyone that passed under them with her wand full of pixie dust. They would have to wonder exactly how much did she get on them? Entry into the room, and a glance to the left one could see that mousekeeping had got the hair off the floor..but …..Wishful mildly stated she was going to speak to someone at the front desk, this room was not acceptable any longer, they had been given the opportunity to correct the problem…..if no room at this inn then they could move them some place else. Within thirty minutes smiles and understanding gave way, the bellman was in the room leading them down hallways up elevators and around corners. He simply stated”Looks like your moving up in the World” well so it seemed they had- right up to the 5th floor Giraffe Trail , overlooking the pool and partial view of a animal area!!!!!It was breathtaking at night, the room was spot less and the extra tipping of yet another Bellman was well worth the journey they made to their new home for the week. Ahh bliss, a great room, a good day …and a wish to see Philharmagic….to sleep , per chance to dream..nope they were living the dream. To sleep!!!!!!and yes, it appears as if Tink had surely dusted them with some Pixie Dust!!!

Dawn is breaking as the two dwarfs discuss thier plans for the day. The view that was deemed incredible the night before was upgraded to downright fantastical, in the distance you could see for miles and watch the sunrise over the tree tops. Coming in for the morning testing of the water could be seen three ducks. The view fromm the room made it look like thier own little private pond. Guess the pool had just enough chlorine in it for the birds, they swam for a bit before being intruded on by early morning humans out for a swim. Glee and Wishful had come to the decision that hair cuts where in order, but first they had Priority seating for a Boma breakfast at 7:45. A few picture oppurtunites by the "food head" , then they were seated. What is it with seating couples NEAR the kitchen. Pooh on that and the hustle and bustle that goes on with the coming and going!! Wishful kept making sure that she wasnt wearing an invisible sign that said...Sit me near the kitchen please!! Frunch being the highlight of the meal- they voted it a little over hyped and over priced, some of the selections were not the proper temp, but non the less they walked away very full and on a mission to lower thier ears. Off to the bus stop- destinatin Barber Shop- Magic Kingdom- arrival by 9:15. Glee had his hair cut back in January and was greeted with a smile by Michael and that "bald Spot looks familiar". Glee told Michael to forgo the pixiedust this time, but I guess it just must have hopped up in his hair magically anyway.Billie the lady hair dresser did Wishfull's hair, but only after a small "incident" It seems as Wishful handed her sunglasses to Billie she was fixing to tell her that one of the arms had been superglued...OOPs..to late as they both heard the crunch and the glasses lay in two pieces in Billies hands. She sat them down apologized and went straigt to the phone. Quickly excused herself and was gone in a flash with the glasses. She was no sooner gone than she appeared in a twinkling a little outta breath. She had taken them to see if someone might be able to work a little Disney magic on them. Billie continued to trim Wishfull's hair....upon her completion she excused her self again....and was back in a matter of minutes with the glasses back to thier former state....Wishful thanked her profusely. Billie says if it doesnt hold bring them back. Wishfull said just tell me where and I will take them myself so as not to bother you....Billie winked..oh no they been in the "tunnel". Wishful wondered what they had seen while there...they had been places she had only dreamed of.. Billie dusted Wishful with some Pixie dust ,and gave her a bag full to help with the rest of the trip. This is considered a must for future trips, it adds such a smile to the day!!! and they are on thier way...seeing and looking a wee bit better than they did upon thier arrival at the MK.

Wishful and Glee headed back to the AKL for showers and to make sure that the incredible view from the room was still there.....Yup it was.....and as much as they would have liked to just sit and soak in the view- there was a Kingdom of Animals waiting just for them!!
Back to the Bus Stop..and all aboard the Animal Kingdom Bus.
Not ones to dilly dally to much as the day was half gone there was one place they knew had to be marked off the list first!!! The Festival of the Lion King. Lion and Warthog and Giraffe oh my, singer and monkey swingers and birds flying high oh my... fire and dancing and stilt walkers too, there so much to observe and take picture too...It was over far to quick. Again the two dwarf exclaim, stupendous, and a notch up with the new enclosed theater and the AC. They could hear Africa calling to them as they exited Camp Minnie Mickey....A few close up photos of the large wooden gates befreo you cross the bridge proved to be some of the favorite photos of the day. Wishful thought that they needed a "shopping fix, and Glee agreed so into Harambe Market they went. They excited with a interesting brass giraffe keychain and about 20 of the animal style beads....and last but not least the Jiminy conservation pin. The shopping excursion was ruled as sucessfull and a celebration of ice cream was in order!! Glee chose an orange bar and Wishful, a nostalgic choice of a frozen banana, something she remebered from the 70's at the magic kingdom. Refreshed, they trekked Panganini- to observe a gorrila or two if they might. Luck would have it as they came upon the glassed area a large crowd was gathered....three of the gorrilas were in plan view.. What was viewed next is something that doens happen that often in view of guests.....The older male silver back apporached the group...a bit of postureing was witnessed up close and personal right there at the glass....and then everyone went on thier merry way....That experience even had the cast member excited!!

Trekking on ..they approached the MeerCats...the Meer CAt look out was perched, and the others were all laying in grass sun bathing, with thier bellies up. IT is bellieved they bath belly up so they can keep and eye on those huge vultures circling hungryly above.

I have tried to write this trip report in third person, just for something differnt to do.....not sure if I like doing it that way..but hope it may be a change in report telling...sorry if I loose the "voice sometimes" of how I am telling it..one has to think a little harder wrting it this way....Hope you enjoy.
