Re: Amy and Mom\'s Wild and Crazy WDW Trip -Pre Trip Day 1 Check In We arrived at 11:30 to the Fort Wilderness Cabins. Parking was hard to find so mom stayed in the car in case she had to move it. Which she didn’t since she did not block anything. I went in and Bren from Schenectady NY checked me In. While my request of loop 2100 was met, I noticed that it was in the back of the loop and a bit away from the bus stop and that it was not ready. Bren stated that the only one she had ready was in loop 2400 right on a bus stop and 6 from the end. I looked and it seemed doable for my mom. It was also only about a 3 minute walk to the cabin pool. We did the normal check in where they have me sign the no pool hopping paper. I did find out you can log into the internet from your cabin its $.75 cents every time you do but it can be done and they will give you local numbers if you ask for them. We got to our cabin #2436 which was very lovely. As you walk in the kitchen is right in front of you and you have a dishwasher, stove, oven, Microwave, Refrigerator, Freezer with ice machine. Lots of kitchen cabinets and storage in the living area which is to the right of you as you face the kitchen. The murphy bed is opposite the refrigerator. The sofa is on the wall with the door and the tv is on the wall facing the sofa. There are two little areas on each side of the murphy bed where the phone sits and where you can plug things in such as a computer or cell phone chargers. It is rich reddish wood and the theming seems to be very country and dark. Its very relaxing to come back to after a long day. To the left of the door and down the hall from the kitchen is the bedroom and the bathroom. The bathroom is very spacious and is very convenient. The bath tub in on the wall touching the refrigerator and the sink/vanity is opposite the tub along with toilet. In the bed room is a second door that locks and this cabin had a 2nd tv. The main bed is right against the wall with the door and then a small night stand. The bunk beds are against the opposite wall and against the wall with the bathroom is the safe and hangers and a small chest of drawers. There is also a little cove with a hair dryer and mirror to get ready at. We were very please with it and after unpacking decided to go to Walmart and get supplies. We came home and unpacked and got ready for dinner at Boma. We took the boat to the Magic Kingdom and then we boarded a bus to the Animal Kingdom Lodge. We were amazed at the views of the animals you had from the lobby walkway by the firepit. We thought that a savannah room would be amazing, and the theming in the hotel was great. We thought the design in side was very similar to the Wilderness lodge and that it was someplace we would stay only if we got a savannah room. We went down to Boma and waited a short time for our priority seating. I was not overly impressed with it but my mom enjoyed it. I am a picky eater so for me it was just not my speed. I like the kids section best. We decided to head back and relax after a long drive and long day. We took the bus back to MGM since that bus was there. We then took a bus back to the Fort Wilderness and then a different bus to our cabin. We were exhausted and decided to head to bed. Up next Day 2 Animal Kingdom and EPCOT (EMH) ....

Re: Amy and Mom\'s Wild and Crazy WDW Trip -Pre Trip Amy how dedicated you are to being doing your TR "live." Thanks for the details and description of your cabin (I always wonder what the rooms are like at the resorts I haven't visited). Don't worry about not loving Boma...I always steal off my DD's plate, but more so at WDW

Re: Amy and Mom\'s Wild and Crazy WDW Trip -Pre Trip Updated *5/25* We woke up pretty early after a long drive like that around 7am. We got up made us breakfast and then left to go to Animal Kingdom. We decided to use the bus system as bad as it was since driving did not appeal to us. We got there a little after the park opened and we went directly to Kilmanjaro Safari. I went and got 2 fast passes for that while my mom waited in the standby it was a 15 minute wait and this way we could go twice. It was barely a 10 minute wait and the animals were all out eating. It was absolutely wonderful both times that we saw it. We wanted to catch the Festival of the Lion King show and so we headed to Camp Minnie & Mickey. The show was only 10 minutes from starting so we got in line. This is by far the best live show on property. I was getting kind of hungry so my mom and I stopped at PizzaFari and split a lunch. We had the Hot Italian Deli Sandwich, which was a Italian bread that was round but cut in half, italian lunch meat, cheese, caesar salad, and tomatoes dipped in Pesto Sauce. It was absolutely wonderful. We got a side salad, and two cokes. All for about $14. We wanted to go to Asia to go on the Water raft Ride. As we were heading toward there it started to rain so we went into the two shops right by the restaurant. When we headed back out it had stopped raining but we decided that neither my mom or I felt like getting wet. So we headed back to the Fort Wilderness and our cabin to change and relax before heading to EPCOT for the extra magic hours at night. We had dinner at the cabin and we were at the park by 7:15pm. We went inside the park and went to the table they had set up to get our wristband. We walked around and went on Mission Space twice, we went on Ellen’s Energy ride and then we went to Land and saw the Lion King show, and rode the living with the land boat ride. We then headed over to Journey into Imagination and rode the ride and played in the discovery area. We then headed over to Spaceship Earth and rode that. Test Track had to long a line for us so we decided to head back to the cabin since by now it was after 11pm. We went back to the cabin and went to bed. Up Next relaxation and the Magic Kingdom...

Re: Amy and Mom\'s Wild and Crazy WDW Trip -Pre Trip Updated *5/25* Monday Since we have seen most of Disney and knew that we could take our time and relax some we decided to wake up late and go swimming. The pools at the fort wilderness maybe plain but they are wet and cool when your looking to relax and get wet. We saw kids with swim noodles, and toys to play with. There were many chairs and loungers to use. We then went back to the cabin and had lunch. After lunch we went to the marina and looked around in the store that is by the pioneer hall and the marina. We caught a boat to the Magic Kingdom and enjoyed the views from the boat. We went through security and then through the turnstiles. At every park we had to have our bag checked and it was fast and painless. We took our time taking in the first sight of the train station and Main Street USA. We walked down main street and up to Fantasyland where we went to Mickey’s Philharmagic with only a 20 minute wait. We grabbed a fast-pass before going in and we absolutely loved this show. This has become my favorite 3D show. We went over to Tomorrowland but the wait for Space Mountain was too long and so we went onto Buzz Lightyear where I did horrible and my mom well she should have been in the negative as bad a shot as she was. By the time we were done with Buzz Lightyear it was time to head back towards fantasy land. Snow white had a 5 minute wait because everyone was at the parade. We went on that and then back to mickey’s philharmagic. We headed over to Haunted Mansion and rode that and we were very impressed with the tombstone with the moving eyes. Amazed at how much we had seen we decided to head over to Pecos’s Bill and had dinner from there we headed to Pirates of the Carribean and went on that. We went and grabbed a seat for wishes right at the end of Main Street facing the castle. That was a major improvement over Fantasy in The Sky. Very Impressed. Back to the Cabins and to bed. Up Next MGM and the dinner of a lifetime....

Re: Amy and Mom\'s Wild and Crazy WDW Trip -Pre Trip Updated *5/25* Tuesday Well this day was super special since it was of course my 22nd Birthday. We went over to MGM so I could ride Rockin Roller-coaster. We went on this once since standby was not long at all just 20 minutes. I grabbed a fast-pass for this since my mom took a fast-pass at Tower of Terror. I had just made it to 22 and I want to make 23 so I skipped Tower of Terror. Rockin Roller Coaster was awesome and I got the front when I rode with my Mom. What a great Birthday present. After we rode our rides, we headed over to Who Wants to be a Millionaire. We grabbed a fast-pass for the next show and went on the backstage tour. The tour lost something since they changed it to accommodate the new stunt car show that is being built but still something to do to kill time when waiting for a fast-pass. We then went back to the Who Wants to Be A Millionaire. Well I am good at answering the questions but horrible at being fast enough to do well. My mom is not good at either but we like it so much. As we were leaving we started talking to a hostess and she saw my birthday pin and told us to go see this other host down by the exit door and ask him for a pass to sit down front for the next show since it was my birthday. Since we love this attraction we go over and ask the gentleman for the pass. At least we can act like we got into the hot seat this way. Again neither of us make it but it was still very fun. We then head over to Muppet Vision 3D and I will have to find out if they have folding chairs for next time since the seats are not for Pooh Sized guests if you have large hips like I do. We then headed over to star wars since the parade was going to start so we listened to it since people were already 4 rows deep. That was no bother we were going back at the end of the week. We headed over to the cabins to get ready for the Dinner of my Lifetime so far. We got ready and then headed over to the Contemporary Hotel and up to California Grill. We waited about 10 minutes for our table which wasn’t by the window directly but was on an angle facing it in the second row it was perfect. We had time to eat our appetizers before Wishes started and that was the perfect birthday present one could ask for. We then had dinner served. The food was wonderful. I had the pork Tenderloin and my mom had the roasted chicken. We had creme brulee for dessert and they brought out a complimentary piece of chocolate cake. Both were to die for and my mom and I split both. I had a mudslide to drink and my mom had a very nice glass of wine. I was carded for the first time now that im way past legal...ah well. I don’t drink except holidays and such and that is always at home so it was a nice treat. By the time we left the restaurant the boats had stopped running so in order to get back to the cabins we had to take a bus to Downtown Disney and then a bus to Fort Wilderness. Magic Kingdom had closed. The driver we had on the way from Downtown Disney to the Fort was great he explained that they had over 1500 drivers and anywhere from 400-500 drivers on at a time. He was very talkative and very nice. All the drivers we had were like that. Back to the cabin and sleep. Up next EPCOT and Magic Kingdom (EMH)....
