Puppy-Port: April 24, 2004--May 3, 2004 Hey all!! I've decided to post my pre-trip report! Even if I am only going to be at Disney for a day, I can assure you that it will be worth reading!!! So, with that, on with the show!! Who? ME!--the LuckyPup With who else? I'm visiting my darling BF--for the purposes of the report, we'll call him "Dizzy" (for those who don't know, that's one of the Vultures in Jungle Book--DBF's Favorite Disney characters ever!) Other people who might make an appearance are "Chuckles", "Dr. Doom" (a real live CM!), "Joe Groupie", "Scarlett" and "Law" (Most names taken from GI Joe--long story--and good friends of Darling Dizzy!) When? April 24 to May 3 Where? Staying with darling Dizzy in GLAMOUROUS WINTER PARK!!! Ooo-la-la, the fabulous pampered life of the male bachelor house awaits me! ![]() Why? To scout jobs for my eventual move down there to be with Darling Dizzy. So, with the basics covered, let's get into the nitty gritty. Darling Dizzy and I met in Atlanta, GA. at a convention. Upon seeing me, he immediately determined that he HAD to marry me. In fact, he even (jokingly) proposed to me!! Fortunately, we weren't in Las Vegas, so we succumed to our better senses and got to actually know each other! One gigantic telephone bill, and three trips (one up here, and two down in FL) later, I've decided to move to Florida. I was a former College Program kid, and I loved my working time down there. (First time: Pecos Bills, Second time: Great Movie Ride). So, this trip is all about getting hired by the Mouse. The month to move in is currently July/August, since that is when a room with Chuckles and Dr. Doom will be available. They've promised me the big room in their apartment--the one with the private bath! So, it's all sounding good right now. I won't move in with Darling Dizzy until we are actually ready to make a very solid commitment to each other. Long distance relationships are hard to judge, so I feel as if the buffer zone is a good idea for now. Darling Dizzy has promised me a trip to the Magic Kingdom, since in my past two visits, I have been a VERY good girl, and not begged or expected to go there. He's been amazed my self-control. I cannot wait to see how he acts when I totally geek out over the Mouse! Currently, it's Thursday. I have my suitcase. I have all my clothes washed. Do I have anything packed? HA! Never!! Somehow, I seem to be the most unorganized organized person ever! I have all my clothes laid out, listed on an Excel spreadsheet and I know exactly what I need to bring. Yet somehow--nothing's packed. Sigh. My interview suit is being tailored to fit me--three fittings in total to get it correct. I highly recommend tailoring your clothes because you can get such a great personal fit. And don't worry Godmailer people--I have you all noted down and you WILL be getting letters. I have airfare from United ($142, round trip!!!). All I need to do is rent my car. I've never rented a car before, and even though Darling Dizzy will drive me anywhere I need to go, he will be working that week (except Wednesday and Thursday.) I have my Disney interview scheduled as well. It is on Tuesday, at 1 PM. Dr. Doom has offered to drive me there, but I still would like the car rental, just to have control over my own destiny and all. For our Wednesday Disney day, I've made PS's over at the Plaza Resturant in case we feel like having lunch there. So, I guess that's it for now. I keep you all updated with any details, and especially the actual trip report!!

Puppy-Port: April 24,2004--May 3, 2004 Hey Guys--on with the report, eh? To refresh the memory, last we left our intrepid Puppy, I was completely unpacked and it was the night before I was going to leave. Great, huh? Well, let's see how I fared. April 24, 2004: Travel Day! I woke up that morning at about 7 am, and had nothing packed. Since I've been traveling to Flordia recently, I wasn't that excited--you know, that Christmas excitement everyone else gets. But I was glad that I was getting to see Dizzy again. We talk to each other every night, but it's not the same! So, I rolled out of bed, and went to my mom's house to get the dog (Trudy) to go to dog park. Our park is only dog-friendly during certain hours--7-9 AM on weekends only. :eek ! Very early. Trudy ran around like a maniac until it was time to go home. After I took her back, I started the task of packing. UGH. Can I just say, I HATE packing? I like having a choice in clothes, and packing doesn't allow me choices. Plus, it's so labor intensive, and your clothes end up all wrinkley and ya gotta lug around the suitcase--well, I just don't like it. Now, remember, my flight was at 9 pm, and it was only me, so I figured I had plenty of time. I had grabbed my suit from the tailors the day before, and picked up all my prescriptions as well, so I was cool, right? Sort of. I made my bed and started packing. From 10-1 PM I got clothing together inbetween watching my Sat morning cartoons. (Yes...I'm 28. I don't care--if I don't get Kim Possible in the morning, I'm not a happy camper! ) At about 1, I figured I deserved a nice sleep, so I laid my head down and rested for a bit. Got back up at 3, showered, and then packed ALL my shower stuff. I brought Grapefruit Peppermint from Bath and Bodyworks for my shower gel (for everyone who needs to know!)I ended up being ready at about 7:30, and my lovely Mother took me to O'Hare. However, she decided to complain the whole time that we drove there about how late I was running and how I would never make the plane on time. O'Hare is only an hour away from Oak Park, and the way my Mom drives, she can shave a good 40 minutes off of that time!! If you don't like Rockin' Roller Coaster, then don't drive with her! ![]() For the record, we got to O'Hare at 7:55. So hah! When we got there, Mom dropped me off at the departures gate and we said our traditional goodbyes. Mom and I really get along, but she's a total Mrs. Weasly, a la Harry Potter. Very loving, a bit battty, short, and terrifying when she's angry! But we both know that we love each other, and I would never leave her without telling her that--she's the same way! With that done, I headed towards the airport. Got a bit confused with the e-ticket check in, but some nice people from United helped me out and I was on my way to the gates. Now, I hadn't eated dinner yet, and I was craving McDonalds. Since this was when they were giving away the little stuffed Dogs, I really wanted to hit one to see if I could complete the collection. Sadly, I got a Golden Retriver (a dog I already had), so I really didn't have a use for it. While waiting at the gate, I inhaled the happy meal, as they had started calling for boarding. I was in seating area 2. This plane was the TINEST PLANE I have ever been on. Guess this was the reason the flight was only $142! While getting seated, I noticed that there was a little girl who wasn't settling down very well, and her mom was getting frustrated quickly. I made a quick field decision, and offered my little puppy to the girl. The mom was very grateful, and the little girl was enchanted with my McD's toy. The whole flight had piece of mind, and I had spread some puppy joy!Since it was so late, everyone really settled down to sleep. I'm nore of a night person, and I stayed up reading "Battle Royale" (a sort of Japanese "Lord of the Flies"--very violent, but a great commentary on dictatorships. Very thought provoking.) We arrived 15 minutes early (11:45, I belive) and I was happy to be in the Orlando airport again. (Trivia question: Whoever can tell me why Orlando International's airport intials are "MCO" wins 15 Canine Crunchies!!) I felt like such a pro as I walked through the airport and hopped on the shuttle. Waiting for me at the end was my darling BF--Dizzy!!! OK, warning: Mushiness ahead!! I was REALLY happy to see him!! Long distance isn't fun, and we kissed and kissed!! Total movie moment!! He's such as nice guy, and really takes care of me. I just don't know how to exactly express how wonderful he is, and how much I want to be with him--but, he's been so sweet and kind since the moment we met--just a wonderful, old fashioned and sweet guy. Can't help but love him! Mushiness off So, after getting my luggage we hightailed it back to his place. We stopped at Wal-Mart to get some food for the week, and then crashed on his bed while watching "Aqua Teen Hunger Force" on Cartoon Network at about 3 AM. (I said I was a night person! ![]() Will the Puppy get hired? Will she ever get to the part about Disney? Will Dizzy get up for his 10 AM job? Answers to all this questions in our next installment--same Puppytime, same Puppychannel!! For the interested, pics are posted at Shutterfly, because I am computer pic-posting ignorant!! http://www.shutterfly.com/view/pictu...21b3eb656c05ca

Re: Puppy-Port: April 24,2004--May 3, 2004 Great update LuckyPup!! Good luck with your job interview! Sounds like you've got a keeper there with Dizzy!! Oh, and MCO stands for McCoy Orlando, named for Col. Michael McCoy of the Air Force who died in 1957 when his plane crashed during a competition.
