Re: Pre-Anniversary Trip April 17-22 (Day Two) Day Two We were up and at’em by 6:30am to make our 7:30 PS at Kona Café. We were the only people there; I guess we really didn’t need that PS. I had the eggs benedict and a chocolate milk and my husband had his favorite Tonga toast and of course two espressos. The total with tip was $40 (seems to be about the average for two adults). After a very enjoyable breakfast we headed over to the AK. I knew we would still be tired so I chose the AK for our second day because we could be done with this park by noon. The lines were really long but the gates had not opened yet. They started to let us in but then we were crowded together to wait for the opening ceremony with Mickey and Minnie; which was very cute. As soon as they dropped the ropes everyone headed over to the Safari. We decided to FP the Safari and we headed over the Dinosaur. This was the first time I got to use my Pal Mickey and I loved it. As we were walking I held him so I could hear what he had to say. He pointed out animals on the Tree of Life that I didn’t even see. He was very entertaining and had very interesting information along with some really bad jokes. We finally got to Dinosaur and there was no wait (everyone was on Safari). I had been on this ride once and didn’t really remember it. But I love Indy and knew it was supposed to be the same. It is not. I really didn’t like this ride. It is so loud and bumpy; it is very hard to follow the story. I would go on it again but only because this is one of the few things to do here. Next we went on Primeval Whirl; this was just boring. I would not go on this again. It was 10am and time for our Safari, on our way we FP Kali River Rapids. The Safari was great, one of the best things we did on this vacation. We had a wheelchair accessible jeep so our row only had the two of us in it, which was great because we had a great view of both sides. I just love this ride. After the Safari we headed to KRR. This was a great ride just a little short. After the drop we were waiting for more. Next I wanted to stop at Camp Mickey-Minnie for some pictures: Me, the love of my life and my husband Day two continued on next post

Re: Pre-Anniversary Trip April 17-22 (Day Two) We left the park by noon. Now, I wanted to go back to the hotel and go in the pool and just enjoy everything the hotel had to offer but nooo my husband wanted to go to Old Town. We are originally from New York and since we have moved to Vegas there are a lot of places we don’t have and my husband wanted to hit all of them. First stop was Checkers, which I have to admit I miss a lot. We ordered two bacon burgers, fries and two drinks total was about $15. Yum Yum! Next we went to Old Town. Both of us have gone there every time we have ever went to Disney so it is kind of a tradition. He was happy because his favorite sports store is still open. He got two hats and a Yankees shirt to wear to the game when we go to NY in July. Then we went to the popcorn shop and I got my favorite blueberry popcorn. I remember getting this as a kid. Then of course my husband had to get his 25 cent Pepsi (I remember when it was a 5 cent Coke). Next stop was Publix to pick up some water and Ring Dings (they do not sell Drakes in Vegas either). Next stop was Dunkin’ Donuts (yep you guessed it, not in Vegas). We got a dozen of them I don’t think they made it back to the hotel. It was now 3:00pm and we were finally headed back. We were exhausted but I had a 5pm PS for Boma and did not want to miss it. When we got to the hotel I asked concierge if we could change our PS to a later time and they were able to. Now I don’t know if it was because I had concierge service or not but they changed it to 7:20pm which was perfect because I needed a nap. As you can see my husband and I do not stop, we just keep going. The problem is we want to do everything and not miss anything. Oh well, maybe when we have kids we will slow down. Just as an FYI tonight’s food offering was baked pasta, looked good but I did not want to spoil my appetite. We left for the AKL at about 6:45pm. We checked in by 7:05, the guy in front of us did not have a PS and the next available seating was at 8:40pm, wow you really need to have a PS for this place. They gave us a little beeper thing and I asked how far we could go with it. They told us only to the lobby and that it would not work in their store, I wonder why. So we went to the store first because I knew we would not be seated right way. After that we just hung out in the lobby. This place defiantly does not have the same homey feel as the WL. It is kind of cold. We decided that we did not want to stay here on our next visit. Yes, we were having such a good time we were already planning our return trip. Our beeper went off after only 15 minutes so we were seated at our exact PS time. I was really excited about eating here but I did not know about my husband because he is very picky. Well, we were both disappointed. I know everyone loves this place but for the price we did not find enough food to eat. I tried the coke pork and the prime rib as did my husband. They were pretty good. I also tried the corn meal (forgot the name), calamata hummus and the toasted pitas, all OK. My husband had spaghetti and meatballs and chicken fingers all from the kids section. He was not willing to try anything else. Next was dessert. I went right for the zebra domes and I thought they were OK. I am not that crazy about caramel flavor. I did like the chocolate mousse cups. The total with tip was $60 but I used $34 of my Disney Visa Dollars so I did not feel that bad that we did not really enjoy the meal. We would not go back; it’s not that the food was bad we are just too picky. After dinner we walked around outside and watched the animals eat which we enjoyed. We were back to the room about 8:30. This is when I realized my husband had a crush on Crista. He watched that show the whole time we were there. For those of you who don’t know who Crista is; one of the in house Disney channels has a show about the seven must do things in Disney World, Crista is the host. Anyway I was really excited because I would be able to see how good the view of the Fireworks was. Well let me tell you, it was pretty spectacular. I thanked my husband for picking this room. It was a great view. You could see almost everything. Soon after the firework we were off to bed. Below are two pictures of the fireworks from my room, sorry about the quality: Next: A Non-Disney day ![]()

Re: Pre-Anniversary Trip April 17-22 (Day Two) Thanks for the latest update, I'm really enjoying your report. I loved the comment under the Stitch photo - you, the love of your life then your husband I must admit that everytime we were in our room at Pop Century I had to watch Crista, I love seeing all the sights. I even made DH film it so I could watch it at home - sad I know lol. I too love Checkers, we make sure we go a few times each trip - their food is sooo much nice than McDonalds! Thanks again, look forward to reading more. Annabel
