| Re: Pre-Anniversary Trip April 17-22 (Day Five Part Two) I am so happy you are all enjoying my report and pictures. Thanks for the great comments, they just make writing this that much more fun. Day Five Part Two After a very long nap, I was still tired but it was my last night and we were going to the MK no matter what. My main goal tonight was to watch the fireworks from the center of Main Street and stay for the Kiss Goodnight. I accomplished both . We drove to the MK and were there by 8pm. First stop was of course the bakery for espresso. Then we just walked around and went on the Peoplemover twice and then we went over to Buzz, this time I had a gun that worked and got 174,000 points (I knew the other gun didn’t work). It was about 9:30 and I started looking for a spot for Wishes. Specto had just ended so it was very crowded. We found a spot right in front of the Partner’s Statue. I thought we still had about a ½ hour to wait because I was looking at the clock on the castle but when the announcement came on that Wishes would start in about 5 minutes, I realized the clock was about 15 minutes slow (I wonder why). Anyway, this was a great spot to watch the fireworks. I was worth almost getting crushed and run over by a million strollers. I was only able to get one really good picture, it is almost perfect: After Wishes was over we just waited for the mass exodus to clear before we got closer to the castle. This area emptied out in about 15 minutes. At about 10:35 it happened. First the music came on, then an announcement saying the MK was officially closed and to have a safe trip home and then the castle started changing colors. Unfortunately, none of my pictures came out. I had done it, I finally saw the Kiss Goodnight. It was worth waiting around for. Now, I thought because we waited to leave an additional ½ hour it wouldn’t be so bad leaving. I was very very wrong. I could not believe how many people were in line to get on the monorail and the boats . We went over to the resort monorail, where the line was a little shorter and waited about 35 minutes, I guess it was a lot shorter because people had waited about an hour for the express monorail. Once we got to the TTC we had to wait another ½ hour for the shuttle to take us to our car. OK, I have to complain about one thing here, why do people not know how to wait in line. It’s a very simple thing to do . There are chains to clearly mark where these lines are. The people in front of me were on two different lines and yet they couldn’t figure out why they were not sitting in the same row. Oh, I could go on forever but I won’t. I feel better now. It was at this point that we decided next time it’s a monorail hotel or nothing. When we finally got back to the hotel we were starving so we went to Roaring Folks and got a cheese steak and a pepperoni pizza ($15). Again, another great meal from there. We ate really fast and fell asleep even faster. Next Up: Oh no we have to go home ![]() |
