Re: My not so solo trip May 12th -17th

Thanks everyone, I will be writing more tomorrow after work, I spent all weekend with my sister in NH.

Tina, I will post the pictures as soon as I figure out how to add pictures and the one with Mulan will definatly be one of them.

Marnie, yes, my cat felt much better thank god. She was back to her old self, she even wasn't mad at me when I got back like she usually is after I go away lol. She was nice and cuddly.

Re: My not so solo trip May 12th -17th

Day 2 Thursday May 13 Part 1

I decided to sleep in today due to no sleep the nite before and woke up at around 9:30. Jumped in the shower and headed off to Pepper Market to get something for breakfast. I look to see where they have the mickey waffles, I love mickey waffles lol, and I see that the kids waffles are in a seperate area then the adults. AS I head on over to the adults area I see woman walking by with just a round waffle with fruit on them mmmm looks like the adults are not mickey ones. So off to the kids area I go since I notices something on the menu about adults portions being $2.00 more. I get to the kids section and ask for the adult portion of the waffles. The Cm pointed to the area that had the adults area and said over there. Ok, maybe they do have both at the adults area so I go there and ask for the waffles, noticing they don't have mickey. Oh, well, I am sure they taste good round too. I sit down and eat my waffles and they do taste good too of course, but for some reason they taste better when shaped like mickey lol. Guess they figure where they hotel is a convention hotel the conventioners would not want waffles shaped like Mickey, I think they should offer both. Found out a few days later that you can get the adult portion of the kids mickey waffles, you get 3 instead of 2 for $2.00 more. I head back to my room to drop off my refillable mug which I purchased right before breakfast and off to the park I go. Epcot bus comes with not much of a wait and I am soon going through the security checkpoint. I get through with no problems and into the park I go. I love seeing all the topiarys for the flower and garden festival, they are so beautiful and neat. I love the one with Tinkerbell, find this one really nice. I decide to head on over to Mission : Space first cause I love this ride. I see that the standby line is 20 minutes, not bad, then see the single rider line is onlly 5 WooHooo, gotta love being a single rider. It turned out the wait was just a little longer then 5, but still not bad. Talked to this guy who had one of those cards the cm's give you to check the wait times. when someone asked him about it, he says it is to check to see how the single line is working on the ride. He states that he doesn't think it works like it does at Test Track cause he walked right on Test Track that morning the few times he rode it. I explained that the card is to check how long the wait time is. Soon we are on our way to take our spots with the group. This one girl that was in the single rider line with her friend was seperated from her friend, which they tell you right from the start. Well, she turned to her friend and asked her "didn't you tell him (CM) that we are together?" ah, like, hello, this is the single rider line, they tell you you will be seperated. Sorry, but this is one of my pet peeves, I have rode quite a few times using the single rider line and almost every time someone is not happy being seperated from friends when they are using the single rider line. The single rider line is there to fill in empty spaces lol, if you want to sit together, wait in the standby line lol. Sorry, off my soapbox now, hope no one is offended. I head on over to Test track as soon as I get off and get in the single rider line there. There is a bit of a wait here too, mmm what was that guy saying? no waits here? lol he just hit it at the right time which is what I was thinking when he was talking about walking right on. We soon get through the briefing room and waiting in line to get in the cars. The groups in front of me of course get seprated as does the couple that are together. The girl makes a face and kinda points towards the guy she is with as if to say but I am with him lol. Cracked me up, ah, yeah, but you were in the single rider line. LOL at this point I am finding it amusing how many don't seem to understand that single riders mean single riders lol. Yeah, sometimes i have seen some getting to stay together, but it is not a gaurantee. Anyways, she stayed where she was placed, she seemed to me like she was going to sneak on over next to her friend.
I decide to go over to the Universe of Energy next, Ellen DeGeneres just cracks me up in this ride. We have just a short wait before the movie part starts and we are soon loaded on. I enjoy the show in this one and notice a few things I have not noticed before. Next I decide to head on over to World Showcase, so I grab a Mickey bar to eat on the way over. Yum, I love Mickey bars, can't get enough of them. I was almost tempted to get the Nestle tollhouse ice cream sandwich, but thought I can get those at home, but can't get the Mickey bar so I of course got the Mickey bar lol. I stop to get a picture of the Beauty and the Beast topiary. I waited while a family got a picture of thier kids in front of it, and while I was noticed another small family walk up and waited also for the family to finish the picture. Ok, the family is done and the family that showed up after me took thier kid to take a picture. Ok, maybe they didn't notice me trying to get the picture. Well, this kept happening, everyone would wait for the families to take their child/childrens pictures or even friends pictures, but would not let me take mine lol. I know, I don't have kids, but I have enough pictures of stange kids in all my pictures from Disney lol. Which some of the parents give me strange looks when I take them. Well, this is the reason why I take pictures of Thier kids, no one lets me take a picture without them lol. I could understand if it was busy, but this area was not to busy at the time. These poor women went to have thier picture taking and I think they realized I was getting exasperated with the whole thing lol. I had decided ok, if I can't get a picture without "them" in the picture, I was going to be in thiers lol. I had started to walk to rest along the wall holding the topiarys and I think they realized I was trying to take the pictures and moved aside. I know, I was being a bit unreasonable and maybe a bit childish, but I got tired of waiting for "them to take pictures" and they would wait for the other families to take thiers, but not me ugh. Kinda made me feel like I was nobody cause I had no kids and I was there solo. Ok, I got my pictures without strangers in it and off I headed to the World showcase. I first went on El Rio del Tiempo and again thought I would eat at San Angel Inn, lol I say that everytime I go on this ride and have yet to eat there. Next I go on Maelstrom where a little boy is a bit apprehensive about this ride but he is assured by his mother and father that it is not too scary. I like this ride and I always forget about the part when you go backwards and always forget about the little drop. I next look through the shops in China and I am almost tempted to buy a Kimono, some of them are so pretty. I decide to watch the movie since I have skipped it the last few trips. I actually enjoy this movie much more then I did when I first saw it, made me want to visit China. Now I browse through Germany and for some reason, don't remember much of Italy, I think it blended in with Germany, I know I went into the shops though. Ok, now I am at The American Adventure and decide to see this too. Like China, have not seen it for a few visits. The wait time is something like 25 mintutes so I stand around and watch the singing groups they have. I actually enjoy the singing, find some of the songs kinda funny. I barely remember this show, so it is like watching a new show lol. I enjoyed it though, more then I did the first time I think. Ok, it is getting close to the time to meet up with Cheryl and her husband Mark, Tara and her dad, Joy, Tina and her boys at Le Cellier, so I start to head on over that way. Only took me about 5 minutes to get to Le Cellier where we are meeting and it is only 6:35. Of course no one is there yet, we are meeting at 7. So back towards the United Kingdom I go. I decide to go towards the back of the United Kingdom as I have never investigated back there. Well to my suprise there was a group singing back there and a lot of people sitting around watching. They were singing beatle songs and they were great. I believe the band was the British Invasion and they were fantastic. As I was sitting there I turned around to see Eeyore and Pooh come out the side of one of the buildings, but soon went back in. A few minutes later I turned around and they were out again dancing with some guests. It was really cute and I got a picture of it lol, hope the guy and woman don't mind me taking thier pictures along with Eeyore and pooh. I sat there and thought of Cheryl, thinking too bad she wasn't here to dance with Eeyore. They headed back in and I turned back to watch the band. Ok, now it is time to head back to Le Cellier to meet up with everyone. I take one last peek in to see Pooh and his friends and notice Pooh sitting on the floor. I thought that was wierd till I saw some woman take her baby from pooh. How cute, they must have the Charecters sit on the floor to take pics with babies so they don't drop them. That is my guess anyways. Ok, got to get over to Le Cellier to meet up with everyone.

Next up Day 2 Part 2.....Did we get enough Pictures?

Great update, Janine. I love Ellen in that show, too. Cracks me up. And I've always wanted to see some of the shows/movies in WS, but the kids would probably whine about being bored.

Re: My not so solo trip May 12th -17th

Thanks for the update! Looking forward to Day 2 Part 2 with the Passporter meet in it!

P.S.--I know what you mean about the single rider line. I've never used it because I'm always with somebody else so we use the regular line, but it would make me mad too if people tried to stay together in the single line!

Re: My not so solo trip May 12th -17th

I'm really enjoying your trip report. Someday I hope to get up the courage to go on a solo trip myself. My 18 year old dd absolutely loves the British Invasion. I also find myself shaking my head at the people who don't get the "single rider" line.

Great report so far Janine - I've only just caught up with it! Ironically, we were at Le Cellier early as well, probably about 6.45, so you weren't the only one!

If only I'd known Janine, I'd have been there! Sounds like I missed a magical moment there... too bad.

I'm eagerly looking forward to your next installment, I think you're going to be the first one of us to post about the PassPorter meet!
