| Re: Belle*s 30th Birthday Trip! June 9 - 13,2004 (Also starring Stitch) Wow Sara, celebrating a 30th birthday doesn't get much better than that ![]() What a great dinner (and beautiful flowers from your sister). Thanks for sharing all the details of the meals, I've always wondered what some of the food is like since I'm more of a meat and potatoes person ![]() Great job! Keep it coming |

| Re: Belle*s 30th Birthday Trip! June 9 - 13,2004 (Also starring Stitch) What a fantastic way to celebrate your 30th! I loved your review of Victoria and Albert's - you summed up exactly how we felt when we went in there and I also felt like a princess at our meal. Ironically, I got almost exactly the same photo as you on the stairs, which eventually you'll see in my trip report. ![]() A wonderful installment - I can't wait for the next part. |

June 9 - 13,2004 (Also starring Stitch) Wow Sara, what a lovely day , you are a very lucky lady, your dress looked great and I love the picture of you and Shawn at V&A's. It sounds like a wonderful meal . I think it's a shame you are allergic to wine, I don't know what I would do if I was allergic to wine. Are you able to drink other alcholic drinks or are you allergic to alcohol in general? Sorry you don't have to answer this if you don't want to, I'm incredibly nosey aren't I?Karen |

It's just wine and beer that I am allergic to (beverage-wise anyway). I can have hard alcohol i.e. vodka, gin, Mike's Hard Lemonade. Until a few years ago I could have wine sauces as long as they were cooked well but recently even those have made me ill. Luckily, I've never been a big drinker so I don't miss wine. I would love to experience what everyone else does when having a good wine that complements a meal though. I wonder if the food was as good as it was without the sauces, how much better would it have been with them?? |

| Re: Belle*s 30th Birthday Trip! June 9 - 13,2004 (Also starring Stitch)-Updated with V&A! Friday June 11, 2004 – Epcot and our 2nd E-ride night!! While we had been setting wake up calls every morning we had yet to need one. As usual we were up pretty early (which for us is 8:30). While we were getting dressed we talked about our first e-ride night experience which we were somewhat disappointed with. Rain, long lines, etc. So we decided to purchase tickets for tonight’s E-ride night and give it another try! We drove over to Epcot and entered the ridiculous line to gain entry. Epcot does not have security separated out from the gate so it’s just a big mess! No one knows where the lines start and people are cutting. So irritating! But unlike at the airport the first day, I manage to keep my mouth shut. We finally get into the park and the Character Caravan is just pulling up. There is such a crazy rush to get to them that we decide to not even try and go right to Guest Services. At Guest Services I pick up my Epcot birthday button and we purchase our e-ride tickets. You’ll notice we skipped breakfast this morning and that was deliberate on our parts as our first ride of the day was to be Mission Space! Shawn has ridden before a number of times on our last two trips but I had yet to gather the courage. I was determined this time would be it! Luckily the Single Riders line was only about 20 minutes. I was a tiny bit hesitant to get split from Stitch and have to ride alone but also thought it might be a good idea. That way I could scream, cry or chicken out at the last minute without him watching. I braved my way through the line and the endless warnings about dark, enclosed spaces (my only concern, I don’t get dizzy except on Astro Orbiter!) and was assigned the position of Engineer. Stitch got on the same ride as me but a different vehicle. I was riding with a family of three who had never been on it either. I kept repeating everyone’s advice to myself in my head as we loaded into the vehicle, “Keep your head back, don’t look around, and don’t close your eyes!” As the screen pulled forward I had a moment of panic. Isn’t it amazing how many thoughts you can have in a split second of sheer panic?? Finally I decided that the worst that could happen was 3 minutes of fear during which I could simply count to distract myself. But then the ride began and it was nothing but sheer exhilaration!!!!!!! I LOVED it!! What a rush!!!! I won’t ruin anything but I will say that this ride is worth a try despite everything you’ve heard or read. The only thing I would say is if you can’t handle Body Wars or Star Tours, don’t ride this. The simulator experience is similar to these rides. The pressure from the G-forces was quite strong, kind of like Rock ‘N Roller Coaster when it takes off but longer. The ride felt far shorter than 3 minutes and was over before I knew it. Stitch caught up with me right as we got out of the vehicles and looked REALLY relieved to see me grinning from ear to ear. He had previously told me he didn’t think I would like this ride. Hah!! I’m braver than he thinks I am. Two Successful Astronauts! ![]() Our next stop was to get FPs for Test Track. Now don’t get me wrong – I like this ride! I just can’t understand why the lines are always so long. Way longer than Mission Space! FPs in hand we decided to get a drink at Ice Station Cool. But as we crossed by the fountain, we heard music and sure enough, Krystos was performing. This is a very cool contortionist/acrobat/strength act of 2 men and 1 woman. They were great and happily agreed to pose for a picture with me. I have heard a rumor that they will be leaving Epcot soon so I was glad to get the shot for posterity. We then entered Ice Station Cool and fueled up on soda. (My favorite is the Lemon from Israel and Stitch likes the Lychee Mello from Asia, don’t remember which country.) [i]I just got slammed with work so will have to finish this later!![/b] Coming Up: Lunch at Le Cellier and our 2nd E-ride night! |
