I decided to start another thread, as the other one was getting long (and I'm only halfway thru it), and I know I have problems bringing it up on dialup at home. To start at the beginning, head back to THREAD 1 by clicking here
Day 6 – Tuesday May 18th – Part 1 - We Move to the Beach, and Get a Few More Hands
We woke up this morning, sad to be leaving. Colin was especially sad that he wouldn’t be able to see his “raffes” anymore I must say, the AKL is now one of our must stay at resorts. We have just encountered such magic here, the view from a savannah room is outstanding, and the CMs we have all encounted have been so friendly. In our book, AKL wins hands down over WL, and we won’t hesitate to stay here again
That said, Matt headed down to Mara one last time to pick up some breakfast, which consisted of a muffin for me, Mickey waffle for Alexa, and the breakfast combo for himself and Colin. We packed up the rest of our stuff, and took one last look out the window.

Matt called bell services, but the wait was going to be 15 minutes, to which he replied, he’d do it himself This is the only downfall to changing resorts. Moving the luggage. And since my DH always likes to do it himself, we always end up lugging it! He first moved it all down to the lobby, and we met him down there. Then he was off for a restroom break. Well, when Colin turned around and found him gone, he started screaming bloody murder. Temper tantrum 101, and there was nothing I could do to soothe him, other than try to hold him. Ten minutes later, Matt returns asking if he was crying the entire time? Grrrrrrr. I head off to take a last shot of the lobby, and to head to the Zawandi Marketplace, as I was in need of an AKL shirt for myself

Matt then brought the car around, and we headed off for MGM. My parents were arriving this morning and checking into the YC, so we decided that we’d head to MGM, as we hadn’t spent a morning here yet. We arrived a little after 9, and made a dash for Playhouse Disney. We were lucky enough to be one of the last ones let into the first show, so we had a good view from the back, right in the center.

Playhouse Disney is now a must do for us, if nothing else, at MGM . . . DD (3) sees the picture now that I took of her dancing at the show and tells everyone she did the "Cha-Cha-Cha" with Bear . . .
What's really funny is that I was looking at those pictures and noticed the host (or that day's "Jamie") and at the same time, a blurb came on the Disney channel for the new Playhouse Disney at California Adventure (they used nothing but footage from MGM's) and the host was that same guy!!! It was a little weird!!!

I just got done reading all of your trip reports. I must say, it was like I was there myself. You all had such a wonderful time, and your children are beautiful!!!! Such wonderful pictures!!! Thanks for sharing. I will continue to watch for more reports.

Sorry you were sad to leave AKL but I'm anxiously awaiting your BC pics...since that may be the only way I see the inside of the rooms
DD loves Playhouse Disney, it's the only show she could see repeatedly!

I love the pic of the Mickey waffle (yummy!). Colin being sad about not seeing the "raffes" sounds exactly like my son!! How funny! I think I'm gonna head over to Toys R Us tomorrow and get the Geoffery Talking Giraffe. My son can take it with us when we stay at AKL!

Marnie, I was just at Toys R Us 2 days ago and they have a whole TON of Geoffrey giraffe print things . . . kid's patio furniture, flip-flops, hats, frisbees . . . TONS of cool stuff!!! What Colin needs is a floppy "raffe" hat . . .
