Re: Disneyknuts (not so) Jolly July Jaunt to the world!~UPDATE 9/1~ tinkerbell or tooth fairy?? Oh gosh.. I almost forgot an important happening from Friday... SHELBY RODE SPACE MOUNTAIN!!!! If any of you have followed my older trip reports you all know Shelby can be obstinant about not riding something if she puts her (stubborn) mind to it..( Remember the trash can incident of my Oct 2002 report) Well, during e-rides Jim & the boys were headed off to SM & Shelby & I were going to get a bucket of popcorn & wait for them.. as we parted ways Shelby looked up to me with all seriousness & said "Mom, don't you think we should give Space Mountain a try??" I was floored & asked if she was sure she wanted to ride it & she said "yes" so I ran after Jim & the boys & she got on it with them & loved it.. She kept telling me after.. "Mom, there's no hills, you just go fast around in a circle" ( if only!!) Saturday coming up

Re: Disneyknuts (not so) Jolly July Jaunt to the world!~UPDATE 9/1~ tinkerbell or tooth fairy?? Saturday, July 17 We had plans for Surprise morning ( or as I'll always call it early entry.. that is so much easier to write in my passporter EE instead of SM~ sounds too much like space/splash mountain) at MGM today. Mickey's cheery voice beconed us "Up & at em.. big doins' going on" at 6am. Shelby immediately looked under her pillow & saw some of the Mickey confetti & $5 disney dollar... She then saw the rest of the confetti from the window & exclaimed that the tooth fairy definitely called Tinkerbell & that Tinkerbell had been in our room last night... She scooped some (most) of it up & asked for something to hold it in.. I gave her the exact same envelope her Dad had given me the night before & she was none the wiser.. She packed that away in her backpack but did open it & look at it several more times during the trip.. she even told all of our family & friends about the special pixie dust she got in WDW!! We showered & got dressed & headed to the food court for a light breakfast as we had 11:30ps for Sci-Fi Dine In.. We all opted for either fruit or bagels.. By 7:30 we were on the road to MGM , parked right behind the AAA diamond parking area & vowed I needed to get one of those passes!! We got into the park a little after it opened & Jim & the boys wanted to do RnRC first.. Jim & the boys rode while Shelby & I snatched up fast passes for ToT. With some time to kill before the FP's became active we decided to go ride Star Tours & do Muppets.. I love Star Tours & can't believe I was afraid to ride it for several years.. Muppets had no line & one of my goals was to finally see the key under the doormat.. I am happy to say that another of my WDW goals was accomplished.. I got to see the key!! ![]() Muppets was cool as ever & as we exited the building & we're walking toward ToT Shelby spotted Kermit & Miss Piggy & insisted on getting in line to have a photo taken.. Jamie refused to go but Brendan willingly went along for the photo Off to ToT for Jim & Jamie.. I ran over & got them 5 FP's for RnRc knowing how much they loved the ride.. The FP's were good for AFTER our lunch at Sci-Fi so that worked out perfectly. After J&J finished riding ToT it was time for our lunch at Sci-Fi.. We had a couple minute wait at the podium & were seated in a cool green car. Our server was fantastic, the first thing he noticed was Shelbys missing teeth & when she told him the pixie dust story you could tell he was an old softie at heart & he melted right there .. He gave Shelby her junior drivers license & played up to her the entire meal ( even gave her the bill since she WAS the driver).. We had a great meal.. I got the reuben sandwich & a chocolate milk shake.. I don't remember (& didn't write down) what everyone else had... We left full & content & headed to use those FP's at RnRC... It was getting extremely hot & I didn't want to walk all the way down to RnRC so I told Jim that Shelby & I would be waiting on a bench on Mickey Blvd for him & the boys. As we were sitting there I noticed Shelby had gotten awfully quiet & looked over to find her SLEEPING .Thinking it (& she) was adorable I quietly crept off the bench & snuck a photo ... Jim & the boys returned & we woke Shelby up & headed off to the resort to swim... We had plans to go to Matsu No Ma lounge tonight for Sushi but since there was no PS we figured we would enjoy the pool as long as possible & head over to Epcot later after the sun went down.. COMING UP: High Anxiety

Re: Disneyknuts (not so) Jolly July Jaunt to the world!~UPDATE 9/1~ tinkerbell or tooth fairy?? We got back to the resort & got in our bathing suits & headed to the sauna.. oops I mean pool! It was still just as warm as the day before UGH! Do they need to put the heaters on in the middle of Summer. This is the point in the TR that I veer way off course. For those of you who suffer from anxiety attacks you will know where I am coming from.. Just the littlest of things will set off a panic attack & it is very hard to shake.. Well, I got a full blown, insides shaking panic attack at the pool.. The day before at the KBKids outlet store I bought the kids water balls to play with in the pool... They started to argue over what game to play whose turn it was to throw the ball etc.. I asked them to behave but they simply kept up the bickering.. I could feel myself start to get upset & when they would not stop A full blown panic attack was upon me.. I left the pool thinking if I just relaxed on a lounge chair I would be fine but the icky feeling ( or "nerves" as I call it) didn't go away. When this happens I tend to retreat inside myself & get VERY quiet, Jim dealt with the bratty kids & I tried to calm down..but it didn't work..I simply wanted to be home in PA where it is safe. ( yes, I wanted to go home badly!!) We decided to leave the pool & went to DD.. for several trips I had been looking at a shirt in the Team Mickey store.. It is a sports shirt that says "DEDICATED MOM: She roots, she rallies, she rules" I decided this trip I HAD to have it. We bought it & The kids started arguing again & my mood got blacker & blacker & I didn't want to shop anymore ( a first for me) .. We decided to head over to Epcot.. I had been looking forward to some Sushi & Tempura & I hoped that would help my mood! We headed over to Tempura Kiku & found there was no seats so we went into Matsu no ma lounge.. Jamie & I ordered Sushi for our appetizer & then we all had Chicken Tempura.. Our waitress was awful!! First she came over with our meal & said she forgot the rice & told us it would be out in a minute.. well, we waited & waited & she never came out of the back.. Our meal was almost over when she did appear & when I "i'm sorry" . she brought it out but by then our meal was over.. Jim was getting angry so he simply asked for the check.. I was afraid that in my mood I would say something very nasty to the waitress so I decided to take Brendan ( my calmest child) & go shopping downstairs.. Brendan & I walked the entire store & waited & waited.. We went outside & waited on little benches across from the store looking toward the steps that lead to Teppanyaki etc . It was going on 15 minutes & still no Jim & the other kids.. I told Bren to walk up & see if Jim was still there.. He was!! He was still sitting there .. the waitress had never returned to give him the check yet! As I was sitting there a couple walked over with their little girl, about 2YO & the little girl started chatting with me telling me she loved disney world etc.. Her parents mentioned that they had adopted her from Korea last year & this was her first trip to WDW.. To see the love in their eyes as they talked about her & the pure joy they all shared at this magical place made my heart swell.. As they walked away with the litle girl on Daddy's shoulders I couldn't help but think about our own Sara(*Belle) & Shawn (stitch) & what a great moment they will have the first time they bring baby Ryan to WDW!! That black cloud that had been looming over me immediately lifted ( a little) Jim joined me about 15 minutes later (yes 1/2 hr since I left him) & told me that in all his life he had never NOT left a tip but this time he felt our waitress was so awful that she didn't deserve a tip.. Instead, in the time it took him to wait for her, he wrote a long detailed letter to the manager explaining what happened & how unhappy we were & left our resort name & room # along with our home phone number.. to this day we have never heard anything back from either anyone at Matsu no ma lounge nor WDW! ![]() We decided to call it a night & headed back to our resort.. where we called Jewlina to see how the piggies were doing (they were fine) I then called my Aunt to let her know we arrived ( I forgot to call the day before) & after we were talking she asked "What's wrong??" she had heard from the tone of my voice that I was unhappy & in a mood.. She too has had 'nerve' problems & has been like a second mother to me so she knows me VERY well.. i started to cry & simply told her off my black mood.. It felt good to let it all out... She did make me laugh too. I was telling her of the great deals I got & things I saw at the Outlet store & she immediately ordered me to go back there & get her a Mickey sweatshirt ( they were on sale for $6.99) Okay, twist my arm to shop!!! ![]() I went to bed hoping that tomorrow would be better... COMING UP: Boma Dinner & CROWDS!!!
