| Re: Our Magical Vacation (including the new WDW hurricane ride) - Days 1-3 [ QUOTE ] 9/22 - Day 4 The rudeness of people always amazes me. While we were waiting for the show to start the guy in front of us proceeds to change his infant right there in the stands. Why he couldn’t have just walked a few hundred feet to the bathroom and used the changing station is beyond me. I’m pretty sure he was with his family so he wouldn’t lose his seat but even if he was alone it wouldn’t have been a problem if he asked one of us that were near him to save his seat for him. The woman sitting next to us just shook her head and told us she saw someone changing a baby on the MK picnic tables the day before. [/ QUOTE ] I am really have been enjoying your story on your trip. What fabulous memories! I just wanted to make a quick point here for parents of diaper wearers...coarse I do not speak for all of us! I do not like changing my child at the changing stations in parks, resturants, or any other place for that matter provides. They are often dirty. And if they are dirty they can be covered in germs not visible to the eye. Intestinal bugs are caught this way frequently for the diaper wearing sect. And if thats not enough some children, like mine, are afraid to be put down on these surfaces because they are either foreign to them or feel like they are floating in space. So most parents change their smaller children in other locations. I would never change my child on a table where food is eatten nor reccommend it. You are right there, it's rude! I usually change my little one in the stroller. Just lay it back and do the deed. This way my child feels safe and secure in a familiar setting and I know it's clean. If it is a poppy diaper I do seek out some privacy cause lets face it no one wants to smell or see those. I will also admit to changing a diaper on a bench at times. I know this may not change your opinion and thats fine, I just wanted to shed some ligt on why some of us parents do what we do. It is not to be rude (well for most it isn't). Well back to reading your terrific report! |
