| Re: Two birthday girls, a boat and a mouse or two Tina - ask and you shall receive!!! Wednesday - Sept 29 - Day at Sea We woke up around 845am…. Later and later each day. Ah I think relaxation is finally setting it. The ship sailed from Nassau at 900am. I went out on the verandah and videotaped our departure. The water was SO blue!!! I have a very sore throat today, and Cheryl has an upset stomach. We are so much fun to be around. We decided to have breakfast in Parrott Cay since we will be having dinner at Palo tonight, and won’t be having dinner there. We wanted to see what it looked like. On the way to breakfast we discovered Dopey having a meet and greet and jumped into line. ![]() Dopey and Dopeyer Cheryl and Dopey Parrot Cay has a large breakfast buffet with lots and lots and lots of choices, including my favorite – the omelet station. While we were at breakfast, Chip and Dale came around to see the kids – and the big kids too. After breakfast, Cheryl decided she needed to work out – we both felt like lumps. I decided I wanted to attempt to cook the sore throat bug out of my body. So Cheryl dressed for the gym, and I dressed for the Rainforest, basically in my swimsuit. I checked in at the front desk, got my robe and slippers and headed to the Rainforest. The Rainforest spa is a group of warm and hot saunas with aromatherapy. There are heated tilled loungers and hot room with various smells. Here is a website with photos on it - http://www.disneycruiser.info/rain.htm, it is a fantastic experience and something I would recommend to all adults. After about an hour in the Rainforest I was sufficiently hot, sweaty and soaked, I changed clothes and headed to the gym to join Cheryl. I worked out on the elliptical for 30-minutes, and then did crunches on the ergo ball and did some weight training with dumbbells. We finished at the gym, and headed to lunch at Tritons…. We both wanted to have the hamburger, but not with cheddar or Swiss cheese – the CM managed to find us some provolone cheese. We also had a seafood cocktail for an appetizer. Since this was a day at sea, we cruised past Freeport, and some of the other Bahamian Islands. One of the announced things to do today was a “behind the scenes of the Wonder” talk – with a couple of head crewmembers (one deck officer and one engineering officer). They showed a video about the building of the Wonder’s sister ship, the Magic (they are very similar in build and ago – the Wonder is one year “younger”) as well as showing a PowerPoint slide presentation about the Wonder, and her daily operations. It was very interesting. During the presentation, Captain John came on the speaker to announce that we would be returning to Port Canaveral since the Coast Guard had approved ships entering Port Canaveral. We were SO happy – this meant 1-hour bus ride, instead of a four-hour bus ride!!! Woo Hoo!! We were two very happy girls!! After the talk by the ships officers, we decided to find a quiet place in the sun to take a warm nap. We found a couple of chaise lounges and lay down to read our books. I fell asleep and have no idea how long we were there. We did both have some ice cream from Scoops, and I discovered they also have a fresh fruit bar there as well and I grabbed some grapes to go with my soft serve. I wish they had something in addition to soft serve- hard scooped ice cream would be fantastic!!! Post ice cream and nap called for a wee bit of shopping. Cheryl had seen that she could get Christmas cards made on board – so we went to review the photos taken so far and see if any of them were acceptable for Christmas card usage. She picked her Dopey photo (it looks a lot like the one here). I bought my official cruise photo – as well as the one of Cheryl and I. We also stopped in the shops – Mickey’s Mates and Treasure Ketch – to look for items. I of course, bought more STUFF!! I bought 2 shirts (one white long sleeve and one short sleeve navy blue one), a baseball hat (one of my weaknesses), 2 Captain Mickey antenna toppers (I need to give Cheryl hers), a picture frame…. And I can’t remember what else… it is sitting at the house… so when I get there tomorrow night I can figure out exactly what I bought. After spending way too much money – we decided to head to the room to prepare for our dinner at Palo!!! |
