| Re: Steve & Sue take the Convertible to Disney:Day 6, Part 1 [ QUOTE ] Well, I know I've been off the boards for a while, but GEESH! I certainly thought this TR would have been written by now!!!!!!!!!!! [/ QUOTE ] OK. OK. I'm a little slow, ya know? ![]() Who: Steve, 46, and Sue, 44, 11th trip to WDW When: 9/30 till 10/10 Where: Old Key West/Hilton Head Why: We own the perfect Florida car now, so LET'S GO! Day 6 was not quite as hot, in fact, it was the type of Florida day that dreams are made of! We were up early even after our escapades the night before. We had 10 AM PS's (they were still PS's in 2004 so that's what I'm using ) at Chef Mickeys. This was probably our last morning to get to Rope Drop, so we figured we would give it a try. We showered and were out the door. Our plan was to park at the CR, walk to the MK, and then walk back for our 10 AM PS. Sounds good, right? Not to be!We drove up to the security gatehouse at the CR, the same one we had been at the day before for our KTTK tour. The security guard asked what we were doing, and we explained we wanted to park and go to the MK, as we had a 10 AM PS at Chef Mickey's. He got unbelievably angry and rude with us. "You can't park here for the Magic Kingdom! Now get out of here!" I tried to explain that we had a PS if he would just look at his list, but he refused and waved us into the turnaround lane. At this point, I would have gone back in, but Steve (who is really basically nicer than me ) just turned around and we headed back to the TTC parking area. I was FUMING to say the least. I'm sorry, I understand that people try to park where they shouldn't, but there is no call to be rude, mean and angry, and if he had just taken 30 seconds to check his list, he would have seen that we weren't lying, we did have a PS at 10 AM. The more I thought about it, the more I fumed, as we are paying guests, DVC members and frequent WDW travelers. We headed over to the MK via monorail, and of course, arrived too late for Rope Drop. Steve and I went straight to Guest Services. As we were standing there waiting, something dawned on Steve..."Let me have that video camera". Sure enough, I had been filming our arrival at CR, and the whole encounter was on tape. Steve showed the CM at Guest Services, and he agreed that the man's attitude was totally uncalled for. He apologized profusely, and said he was going to talk to the security guys. He gave us a card with an email and phone number to follow up with, unfortunately, I never did follow up. I wasn't going to let that man's attitude ruin my day, but it was so un-Disney-like. Luckily, he is in the minority, as most CM's we meet are wonderful. We really didn't do much at MK as we didn't have much time now, and soon we walked over to CR for our breakfast. Interestingly enought, the security guard with the attitude was gone... Our breakfast was about to take a different turn, though. As we waited for our table, we ran into....THE STALKERS ![]() No don't worry, it's not a new reality series on Fox! On the monorail over, we were sitting minding our own business in our car, when Steve looks up and says to me, "Isn't that your friend?" Huh? What friend? I don't have any friends! "No, your friend from the Boards...from yesterday!" Sure enough, we had gotten in the same car with Ann (disneyknut), DH Jim and her 3 children!! How cool was that? We told them about our experience and chatted for awhile. We got off at the MK and they continued on their way. I never thought to ask where they were going! When we arrived at CM, it was pretty crowded, we got our pager and settled in to wait..OK, cue the sinister music...dim the lights...it's Ann again! OH NO! She's stalking us! They had PS'a at Chef Mickey's also! How cool was that! I wish we had known in advance, we could have planned them together. We talked for a little bit, told them where we would be the rest of the day in case they wanted to keep following us! ![]() This was my first ever meal at Chef Mickey's (another first!), and we loved it! Despite the huge crowd, we were really impressed with the character interaction. I thought they might sort of pass us by since there were so many children, but we got as much attention as the tables with kids! We got some really cute video, and had a good time. And those stalkers...they were right down the aisle from us! ![]() After breakfast, we headed back to the MK for awhile. This was going to be our last time at the MK for some time, so we just sort of enjoyed the magic. We did a few rides (we walked right on BTMRR so we did that twice) and took a last look at the castle. We were not done with our day...we had plenty of plans and lots more fun to come, but we were leaving for Hilton Head tomorrow and would not make it back here. I always get a little teary when I say goodbye to the castle, but soon we were headed back to our resort for another fun afternoon of firsts...Next....The clown's mouth, Fantasia Golf, and our last night ! |
