Our MNSSHP trip! (Link to pics added) Who: Me (elise, 37), DH (Craig), DD(11), DS(7) When: 10/21-10/25 Where: Pop Century, 70's Bldg A, Room 6213 October 2004 Trip report This trip was pretty much prompted by MNSSHP and low airfare from JFK. We flew out very early Thursday morning. Our flight was smooth and Quicksilver was there when we arrived. We stopped at a Publix and got what we needed. We arrived at pop by 11:30 am. We got a great room in the 70's Bldg. A. It was on the end closest to Classic Hall and facing the back so no courtyard noise. We dropped our bags and headed out to Epcot. The crowds were not too bad. That night we get back to the hotel and unpack only to discover that I neglected to pack any underwear for DH. NONE! Just an FYI, WDW does not sell men's undies except for boxers and those are mostly the knit ones that are more like lounging shorts than actual underwear. So he has 2 pairs of underwear for 5 days. I did wash every other day!! The next day-Friday 10/22- we got up and headed to MGM. Spent a little time there and then headed over to AK which was an early open day. There were huge lines to get in and we almost left but when I came out of the restroom, they had dissipated. We went in because we only wanted to have lunch at Tusker House. We did...the chicken is really delicious! Then DH & DS left & I stayed with DD and rode Dinosaur & Primeval Whirl. Then we left. We went back to get ready for MNSSHP. We had a 6:15 for LTT. This was a mistake. It was too late. Next time we will eat by 5pm. LTT was packed and many people were just walking up without a PS and were turned away. The meal, though, was great! They served turkey, ham and flank steak, which was delicious! There was a great salad, great mashed potatoes, mac & cheese, carrots and stuffing. Dessert was apple cobbler a la mode and cup of dirt for the kids. We saw Minnie, Goofy, Pluto and Chip & Dale all dressed up for Halloween. Definitely worth the $$ and we will do it again. The party was great! Lines were minimal for both candy & rides. We didn't do too many rides because there was so much other stuff to do & we knew we would be back here another day. The highlight of this night, for me, was seeing Goliath from the Gargoyles cartoon in front of the carousel!! He didn't speak or sign and stood pretty much frozen, although I did point out that a gargoyle is stone by DAY and warrior by NIGHT...he failed to see the humor!! We took a picture in the Doom Buggy near HM and had photos taken with the Fairy Godmother behind Dumbo! Got Aurora & Prince Philip’s autograph in county Bounty (a first for the Prince). We watched the parade, which was very cute but missed the headless horseman both times. The first parade was deserted but the 2nd one was packed which I thought was weird. The Fantasy in the Sky fireworks were a little lame and the witch was a no show. I guess nothing compares to Wishes. All in all, the MNSSHP was much fun. DH got a cute hat & DS got a cute tee. We would do it again, but a little differently next time. Saturday we slept in a little because we were up so late for MNSSHP. We ate breakfast...the kids loved the tie-dyed toast! And we headed over to Epcot. I wanted to be in the UK early to sign up for the Art of Preparing Tea seminar. (I recommend this. Everyone got a free silver tea caddy that sells for $14 in the twinings store plus tea samples & we had a tea tasting, too. ) We ended up eating at the Rose & Crown (a first). We wanted Fish & Chips because Krissa seems to love them so much on the WDW channel in the room! I had cottage pie, DH & DS had the fish and some kind of soup & DD had pasta. Everything was good; the waiter (Carl) was great. Epcot was pretty busy because of Food & Wine and we chose not to wait on a lot of lines. Since we have done most of the rides already, we didn't feel the need to wait. The kids did the cookie-baking thing in The Land and that was the very first time I have ever seen a line for Living with the Land! We rode TT and passed on Ellen & MS. We spent a lot of time in World Showcase. We were there last year for Food & Wine also, but it was almost over by then and I guess a lot of people had already been because it wasn't nearly as crowded. It was also a weekend. We headed back to the resort and took a nap and a swim. Then I decided I wanted to see Wishes & since the next day was a MNSSHP, this was my only night left. BIG MISTAKE!!!! The warnings about MK on a Saturday are true. It was PACKED!!! We waited 30 minutes to get our food at Columbia Harbour House!! We ended up leaving without seeing it. Oh well there's always next time. And I made sure to pick up the soundtrack this time. Sunday: We were at AK for the opening ceremonies. Rode KS, PAW (3 times!!), Dinosaur, TS. We also had breakfast at Tusker House. I love Tusker House! When we were done, we took the bus over to MGM. It wasn't too bad there either. We did TT, RnRC, ST, LM show, shopped, had lunch in the commissary. Then we headed back. DH napped while I did laundry. We were going to go over and see Illuminations but ended up at Downtown Disney. We hit the xmas store, Pooh store, Pet store & Pin store, then headed over to the Lego store. We then walked through PI and the into the West Side (a first for us). It was petty cool but crowded. We ended up at Wolfgang Puck's downstairs (again using the PS tip). It ended up being one of our cheapest meals & definitely our cheapest dinner. It was about $40. DH & DS shared a pepperoni/mushroom pizza and DD & I shared a plain mushroom pizza. It was very good and plenty of food for all of us. Then we headed back to World of Disney did some last minute shopping with my AP discount and headed back to the hotel. We then hit the sack...hard...we were pooped!! Monday: Check-out day . We packed up and brought our luggage over to luggage services to hold for us and were at MK for the rope drop. We split up and I got DS his ears (all we need to do is to get some for DH now), DD ran to get fast passes for SM and DH & DS rode BTMRR twice. Then we met up in Tomorrowland and hung around Stitch for a while. It wasn't open. We rode Buzz & DD & I did the speedway. We headed over to the other side of the park and rode Jungle Cruise (it was closed on our last trip in August) then Pirates, SM, and BTMRR. We made our way back through Fantasyland PP was too long a wait & we got FP's for MP but it was having technical difficulties. So we headed back over to Tomorrowland & lo & behold...Stitch was open!! We got in line, which really wasn't that long. Then a CM says they are having technical difficulties and they don't know when it will be up & we could wait or we could leave. Many left but we stayed and ended getting in to the ride about 10 minutes later. It was very cute. It's weird being in the AE building. A lot of stuff is the same. It's basically the same premise but Stitch busts loose instead of the alien. A lot of the little ones were still freaked out because of the dark & the noise (DS included) but it was fun! I was glad to have been able to see it. Then it was time for our lunch at the Plaza. I got the same as I got last time...the Cheese steak but when it got to the table, it looked like a kid's meal! DH just laughed. It was very disappointing. DH asked me "HOW much was that?" It was $9.99 and totally not worth it. He shared some of his Plaza Club with me. Then we left. We rode SM again and then back over to check out BTMRR too long and ended up on PotC again then headed back to Main Street. Got some fudge, saw the Parade in front of the Confectionary (totally wide open). It was cute. Then we headed back to Pop. DS began to cry during lunch because he didn't want to leave. The DD started on the way to the bus. By the time we got on the bus they were both crying, I almost started too. A man traveling alone across from us asked me what was wrong and I told him we were leaving. He just said "Ah" and nodded his head. Back at Pop, we had shakes and vanilla cokes. I bought the Mickey shaped tea ball and we changed and the car came. Both kids were crying again in the car. DS continued on the plane but then passed out! We got home about 11 pm.It was a nice trip. We loved Pop! We’re already planning the next one. Elise's MNSSHP pictures

Re: Our MNSSHP trip! Thanks for sharing your trip Elise! Too funny about your DH's lack of underwear!! I guess he probably didn't think it was funny! I always feel like crying too when we have to leave.

Re: Our MNSSHP trip! Elise, I loved your trip report - it sounds like you and your family had a wonderful time. And I laughed like crazy when I read about your husband arriving at WDW with no underwear as the exact same thing happened to my DH last December. If it ever happens to you again, we actually did find one store inside WDW that sold men's underwear. It was the apparel store (I don't remember the name) in the Contemporary. They were Ralph Lauren Polo briefs. I must admit that I will never forget our frantic underwear search on that trip and we were SO relieved when we finally found a store that could help us out. Joy

Re: Our MNSSHP trip! (Link to pics added) Hey Elise - sounds like you guys had a really fun trip, except the underwear snafu! We did the LTT last year and thought it was really good, too, but we didn't get to see them dressed up for Halloween! How cute! Loved the pictures, too! Stephanie
