| Re: An Untitled Pre-Trip Report We were at MVMCP that night too. I don't think you are a baby at all, Bonnie, I was cold and I'm Canadian! I saw several people that night walking around with blankets draped around their shoulders! We ended up going back for seconds on the hot chocolate too! I agree with you on so many things: those heads in the food court are freaky, Stitch's Great Escape "stinks" and I also agree with you about the pillows at POFQ. They were wonderful - nicer than the ones in our room at the Poly.Looking forward to more! |

| Bonnie\'s Disney Christmas Present: Day Two Still working on posting those pictures, it's just killing me I can't get them downloaded. Mickey, with some help from Stitch woke me up this morning at 6am! I grabbed a shower then woke Amir up. Amir actually was ready before me so he headed down while I finished dolling myself up. He was all set at the food court with chocolate chip pancakes when I arrived. I went for a bagel and cream cheese.![]() We set off for Epcot next. The bus arrived fairly quickly and there weren’t too many others aboard. Today was early entry at Epcot. We paused at the entry long enough to take some pictures of Spaceship Earth and then took off for Test Track. The last time I was on this ride I thought it was lame. I didn’t realize till this go that there must have been something wrong with it the first time I was on. This time it rocked! I loved it, Amir loved it! After the first go round, there was no one waiting so the CM asked if we’d like to go again? Did we?!!! You bet!! After the 2nd round we had to hop off as there was a line forming now. Amir headed for Mission: Space. This ride is too claustrophobic for me. I headed for Mouse Gear for some shopping instead! I picked up a Minnie and Mickey wedding picture frame for one of my wedding pics, I bought my cat Tippy a food placemat that had all the Disney cats on it including my favorite character, Cheshire Cat.There was something else I got but can’t remember what it was. Oh well, I had it sent package delivery back to the hotel. Just love that! Amir found me in Mouse Gear shortly later and he looked a little green from the ride. We went outside and sat down for a bit so he could recoup. I told him it was a rough ride. He did not show any interest in going on again. I thought now might be a good time for a quiet slow, relaxing ride so we went on Spaceship Earth. This is such a cool ride, I love all the scenes. Especially the monks! The last bit with shooting lights could use a facelift though. Next we gave Ellen’s Energy Adventure a go. This was really good; I can’t believe it lasted 45 min!! Amir liked it too and felt much better after. We popped into Ice Station Cool to test the worlds' soda next. Amir tried the Italian Beverly and made the worst face. It must have tasted awful! I didn’t try it . I did like the German soda though. Quite tasty. It had been at least 2 whole hours since our last go at Test Track so we had to do that again. Twice. We did the single rider line to cut down wait time but we both ended up in the same car. I had fun teasing the kid that got the driver’s seat, asking him he had a driver’s license and stuff like that. Journey into Your Imagination was on deck. I thought this was kind of boring and lame. The set scenes were drab and there were no good special effects. There were absolutely zero people in line and that’s good because I would have hated to wait for this ride. I remember it 10 years ago being a lot better. I know they made some changes to it. They should change it back. Well, it was getting to be lunchtime and we were hungry . I had made a PS for Le Cellier so we went off that way. We were early for our PS but it wasn’t busy so we were seated right away. Our server was from British Columbia and I chatted with her briefly of my own visit to Vancouver. I ordered the Cheddar Cheese soup and iced tea. Amir had the cheese soup and a chicken caesar salad entrée. The soup was absolutely divine. And while the pretzel bread is considered the big hit, I liked the sourdough much more. The service was prompt and polite. The food was excellent and the atmosphere very regal. I would definitely eat here again. ![]() After lunch we took a few pictures around Canada. We took in the “O Canada” film also. We both decided this was rather dull and it was no fun standing up either. We made a speedy exit and continued on to the UK. We browsed the shops took a few pictures. I love all the attention to detail you find here. Amir bought a gift for his brother and I toyed with the idea of getting a Scottish wool scarf in my clan’s tartan (MacDonald), but decided against it for now. We spotted the Hundred Acre Wood gang in the back on the toyshop so I got a group shot with Pooh, Eeyore (who kissed me! ), Piglet and Tigger. That was a coup!We were a bit tired and decided to end here and go back to the hotel. We continued to walk all the way around WS though, but did not stop to look. We would be back for that. After a rest back at “home”, we headed off for the MK for a Passporter Meet with ChezP and her husband Mark. We arrived at the MK about 45 min early so we browsed the Main St Shops. Then headed to the tip board. Amir was cracking me up asking if every couple that passed was them. For some reason he was under the impression that they were an elderly couple!! I have no idea where he got that from! Soon I spotted Chez followed by a huffing and puffing Mark. They had dashed in. We had decided to exchange guidebooks, Great Britain for me and a San Diego book for her. I had an extra Disneyland guidebook too, so I brought that along as well. After exchanging greetings, we made our way down Main St to grab a spot for Spectromagic. While we were waiting for the parade, the tree lighting ceremony took place a bit early that night. Even though it wasn’t quite dark when they lit the tree, it was still lovely and I grabbed some pics. After that they did the flag lowering ceremony in Town Square. Chez and Mark had some questions about the way the National Anthem is sung and why we put our hand’s over our hearts. I never actually thought about it before. ![]() Anyways…we had a nice chat and laughed quite a bit. I picked up a catch word from Chez…wicked! Everything is “wicked” now and I spent the rest of the week saying that. Amir thought they were cool! High praise from a teenager! ![]() We watched Spectro…it was still cold that night. I didn’t really get any good pics of the parade. But it was a great parade and I had never seen it so it was all good. Afterward, we were able to make a speedy exit and Chez and Mark gave Amir and I a ride to DTD. Thank you so much for that! It was great to meet them; I really enjoyed it and hope that we get to meet again soon. ![]() At DTD, we headed for Disney Quest. The temps were still very cold and the wind was blowing quite hard. We were pretty hungry by this time and headed for the Wonderland Café. We both had pizza and garlic rolls, which were very good. Then we went down for cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory. Very yummy! ![]() We decided to split up for a bit. Amir went off to play the games and I went down to the shop. I picked up some pins but was mad when I found out I had to go round to the main entrance to get back in! It took forever too. I finally made it to our meeting place and it turned out OK because Amir wasn’t there yet either. A few minutes later he showed and we went down to try Virtual Jungle Cruise together. It was fun, but boy did my arms ache afterward! That ride is a good workout! Amir wanted me to try Cyber Space Mountain. I got in line to design my own coaster and choose a pretty tame one to start. My problem came when I began to realize how small and enclosed the simulators would be. I didn’t think my anxiety and claustrophobia would be able to handle it. I said I would look at the simulator and if felt too uncomfortable, I wouldn’t do it. Once I saw the inside, it seemed large enough not to feel too enclosed and the CM said there was a Stop button so if at any time I didn’t feel well I could stop the ride and she would come and get me. I agreed to give it a go. I guess I worked myself up too much in the line though because as soon as she shut the door my heart started pounding and I couldn’t breathe and that weird- metallic –I’m going to pass out-taste came into my mouth. I pushed the stop button but the ride didn’t stop! No one came! Thanks a lot. I put my head down and just slowly breathed and then I was OK. Guess what else?…the coaster I designed sucked anyways…give me the real deal anytime! We both wanted to go to the Virgin Megastore so that was next. I was dying to get my copy of the Return of the King Extended Edition and even though I couldn’t watch it till I got home I still had to have it. So I got that. Amir found a CD and got that. We went “home” for the night. Back home we stopped by the food court for a late night sweet snack. I got chocolate cake and I think Amir had a milkshake. I only ate a few bites of the cake and then into the fridge it went! Next Time: Towers, Coasters and Sundaes Oh My! |
