| LizardCop and Jan\'s WDW Christmas Pt 1 TRIP REPORT Well, we survived another trip to Disney World!!!!! Now, to just figure out when to go back, well… That’s not a problem, I could go back today, but, I’m not too sure how my boss would take it….. The travelers are myself (53) and DW, Jan (41). The “rigidly flexible” schedule was to leave on December 17th, drive to Disney and come back home on the 24th. We did that!!! Scheduled things to do at the park were 2 PS’s and 2 PP meets, we did them. Other things planned to do, but not on any schedule, were to have fun, visit all the resorts, and have fun….. We did not accomplish all of those, but then there’s the next trip and next Christmas….. What was not planned was Jan getting sick, but she survived (well, she’s still sick but doing fine) and we survived…. Now, on with the report I had planned on leaving early on the 17th, by early I figured somewhere around 7:00-7:30AM. We didn’t get out of here until 9:30 AM CST (10:30 AM Disney time). The trip usually takes 6.5 hours, plus or minus… The weather was good and the temps climbed as we headed south. The actual drive was uneventful, thankfully….. We arrived at the WDW complex around 5:15 EST (Disney time). We stopped at DTD to purchase our annual passes, as the old ones had expired….. Then, it was off to Pop Century!! Check-in wasn’t too bad, the line looked a little long but we were done in 20 minutes. We ended up in the 90’s building again (on the second floor this time in room 8239), but that don’t bother us… Unloaded the Blazer, set up a couple of things and off to MK….. for MVMCP… We had planned to get there early enough to make the 6:15’ish PP meet….. We didn’t make it... ![]() We walked through the front gate at around 6:30 PM and decided to stop at Exposition Hall to see if we could get a MVMCP Pin. The door to Exposition Hall was locked and, as we headed to a bench to set for a minute, who should be setting on that bench????? It was the lovely and talented Cheryl (Chezp)!!! And there was Terri (DrDolphin), along with Maureen (statelady01) and her DH (Kevan)… And shortly after up walks the infamous Mark, wearing his Christmas Tree hat…. Hugs were exchanged, introductions were made and a game plan was set into motion. ![]() Cheryl, Kevan, Maureen and Terri discussing the game plan Terri and us headed over to the Emporium, that’s where they were selling to current night MVMCP pins. Of course, they only allowed 2 per person and Terri needed 3, so DW and I got 2 each so everyone that needed one got one. We all met back up and headed for Tommorrow Land… Now, I’m not much of a ride person and really haven’t been. There are some I know I can’t do and that’s the way it is. DW loves those rides, so this meet worked out great. Thanks do much folks for letting Jan hit them rides with you, she had a blast….. Anyway, Terri headed off to Space Mountain to see what the wait time was. She came back yelling 10 minutes!!!!! So, after stopping for hot chocolate and a cookie at The Plaza Pavillion, Terri, Maureen, Kevan and Jan headed off for Space Mountain while Cheryl, Mark and I headed off for Buzz Lightyear, which also had a 10 minute wait. We chatted while in line and Mark gave me a couple of pointers as I had never been on this ride before. Mark and Cheryl jumped in a car and I jumped in the one behind them. First time score was 63,800. The photo of me was a good one, I developed the Maureen and Lynn look, but I didn’t buy that one as I had planned on riding it again with Jan and knew we’d buy it. Ride done and we all met again in front of Buzz… Off to the Haunted Mansion. They were setting up for the first parade, so we scooted here and there to avoid the “impasses” and dodge the nesting crowd. Mark’s blinking Christmas Tree hat stood out above the crowd, so we all decided to follow the “blinking Brit”… Very short wait time and we’re visiting the ghosts. Then it was off to Adventureland where Terri, Maureen, Kevan and Jan did BTMRR. Somehow on that ride, Terri ended up with a wet seat, and we jokingly decided we all needed the Terri Wet Seat look and headed for Splash Mountain. Cheryl went to the tip board as it was almost time for the second PP meet and the rest of us did Splash. Terri already posted the picture, but here it is again….. ![]() It’s a GREAT picture and we had a blast, and probably all ended up with a case of Terri wet seat and I think we all bought the picture!!! NEXT: PP Meet, Wishes and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Parade... |
