| Re: My Turn - MVMCP 12/17-18 Report - update 1/1 December 18 - Saturday I did not call for a wekeup call this morning. I just wanted to relax. I had thought about getting up in the morning for a run - but yesterday wiped me out. I got up, took a shower, finished packing. I left my bag in the room and went down to try and get some breakfast at the Whispering Canyon Cafe. I had the Denver Omlet that came with hashbrown potatoes and a biscuit. I really wanted ketchup to go with my hashbrowns, but dared not ask. I also had hot chocolate - breakfast was really good and I was really full. I went up, got my bag and headed down to get the car. My flight did not leave the airport until 330pm, but I knew that this was the first weekend of very busy travel - so I opted to go to the airport earlier than later. I claimed my car right at 11am and headed toward the airport. I ended up parking out in the boonies (known as the cheap lot) and dragging my 2 50lb bags, and 2 carry ons (I so need more hands) to the bus. I eventually got to the check in area - and there was a very long line - that was moving very quickly. I think it took 25 minutes to check in and another 30 to get through security. So about 130 minutes later I was at my gate and ready for a NAP!!! It is amazing to me that doing nothing can be so tiring. I wish Orlando international airport had wifi - but no luck in that department... So I read a book, talked to Scott on the phone, played on the laptop a bit and tried not to go nuts while waiting for my flight to arrive and board. FINALLY my flight arrived, they got us all on board and I sat there for 4 hours wishing I could sleep while winging my way to a family christmas holiday in New Mexico. Well - there you have it - my take on the great MVMCP Passporter Meet!!!   |
