| My Turn - MVMCP 12/17-18 Report - finished 1/2 Since I have been to ABQ and back (although I did type up notes) and Scott is out of town this weekend, I can focus on getting this report done!!! The great MVMCP Passporter Meet!!! Dec 17, 2004 Cast – Main Character – Terri (DrDolphin) – from Jacksonville, FL Additional players – Maureen (statelady01) and DH – Kevan Cheryl (ChezP) and DH – Mark (hereafter known as “the blinking Brit”) Bill (LizardCop) and DW – Jan Marnie (Colexi’s mom) and family Tenya (Tink’s Mom) and family Eliza (Eliza) and family Melissa (mjoygirl) and DH – Andy If I missed anyone else – my bad – completely. I am flying notebookless. Ok – I will start out with the ramp up to this trip. Cheryl and Mark were planning on meeting Maureen and Kevan at WDW. I posted that I was headed to Orlando on Dec 18th to catch my flight to Albuquerque for Christmas with mom, dad, Lori, Jamie and kids. That got me to thinking about bailing from work one day early and heading to WDW. Cheryl PMed me and mentioned the Christmas party was the night of the 17th and that they planned to attend. I have never made it to a MVMCP before… my seasonal pass goes into blackout on Dec 18th… so if I was going to do this – now was the time!! I ordered my ticket online, put in my leave slip and asked Maureen to book me a night at the Wilderness Lodge (courtyard view please). All of this happened in September – before hurricane Ivan and the cruise. So - now to wait for December 17th... |

| Re: My Turn - MVMCP 12/17-18 Report Flash forward to December 17, 2004. I woke up early – 5am to be exact to the sounds of Aerosmith screaming something over the radio. My brain was not awake enough to tell you which song it was. I got up, got dressed and headed to the HIT Center for my morning training session with Alicia and Melissa. Alicia was sick – so Mike trained me. We had me run on the treadmill – 1:1 interval training. One minute of speed and one minute of recovery. I ran as fast as I have ever run before, 5.8 miles per hour. Woo Hoo. Now all I have to do is figure out how to get my body to do that pace for 26.2 miles…. (right). After my workout – I gathered everything together and headed back to the house to take a shower and load the car. I completed getting ready and was on the road at 930am. Good progress. I should be at WDW at noon. Plenty of time. I pulled into WL’s parking lot and parked WAY OUT IN THE BACK at 1215. I talked to Maureen on the phone and agreed to meet her, Kevan, Cheryl and Mark at the Trail’s End at Ft. Wilderness at 1pm. I checked in – and after a wee bit of check in confusion (resulting in all of them meeting me at WL, and a room change) – I ended up on the 6th floor room 6141 – king bed, handicap accessible room overlooking the pool and courtyard. Loved my room. Wish I could have stayed longer. This resort is SO great at the holidays - it feels like Christmas the minute you walk in the door!!! Christmas Tree at Wilderness Lodge As I said, Maureen, Cheryl, Mark and Kevan came over to WL from MK and met me in the lobby. We got me in my room and headed to Roaring Forks for lunch. Cheryl and I both had veggie pizzas and we split a cup of clam chowder. I also had a fruit bowl (I think my lunch, with a bottle of water was like $12.00). I remember Mark had Chili, someone had a philly cheese steak…. And beyond that I will have to rely on Cheryl’s excellent notes. Lunch at Roaring Forks - Cheryl, Terri, Maureen After lunch – we split for a while. Cheryl and Mark needed to go back to Saratoga Springs to get some things they had left in their room, while Maureen and Kevan headed back to the Polynesian for a bit. I drove Cheryl and Mark over to SSR (and learned a FANTASTIC back route!!). We went to their room and Cheryl looked for Christmas cards and a chocolate bar for me (Cadbury Dairy Milk – YUM!). After getting everything together – we headed over to the Polynesian to meet up with Maureen and Kevan before heading to the Magic Kingdom. We all headed for the monorail and MK!! On the way to MK!!! Next - an afternoon of playing at MK and a Passporter Meet!!! |
