| Re: Racing the Duck - HOME!!! Ok - Here we go. I think for each day I will remind you what we PLANNED to do - and then tell you what actually happened. Day 0 - Friday Friday – January 7, 2005 Plans - Cheryl’s flight from Baltimore arrives at JAX at 10pm Head to Terri’s BF ( saying that) house for the night Reality - This day drug on FOREVER!! We had a suprise baby shower for a guy at work and his wife (he knew - she thought it was a retirement party). That went well - but after that I lost all steam. I finally ended up coming home around 3pm so that I could attempt to write a letter for Fish and Wildlife (does getting an outline done count??). The day finally ended around 520pm - and I made sure all the bags, etc were in the car, that the cat box was armed with a new catch pan and had clean litter (I automatic kitty pans!!) and that lots of food and water were ready for Six and Rocky. Scott had already promised to stop by and check on the boys on Sunday (just like I did while he was in Michigan).I headed to Scotts house and moved my overnight bag into the house - then I took it easy while he made marinated grilled chicken and veggies for dinner. I talked to Cheryl around 5 or 530 and she had checked in and was on her way to security for her 8pm flight that was scheduled to arrive in Jacksonville at 1015pm. After dinner, Scott and I settled in to watch the rest of "The Day After Tomorrow" that we had started earlier in the week. I left his house at 930pm, went by the post office to drop off a couple of letters that needed to be mailed and then headed to the airport. I arrived right at 10pm - and for some really strange reason - Cheryl's flight was listed as on approach - with no gate listed... ok - so I guessed that it was on the Southwest concourse and headed that way to meet her at security. She called as soon as she was off the plane, we met and headed to baggage claim - which took all of five minutes. We drove back to Scott's and went in. He was already ready for bed - and I think well on the way to sleep when we arrived.. He woke up and came out to say hi, I showed Cheryl the guest room and bath and we all headed to bed around 1115pm or so. |
