Re: Racing the Duck - Day 2/pt 3 - 1/17 Day 3 - Monday – January 10 Original plans - MK day 1230pm Lunch at Plaza Restaurant – new for both of us 400pm – head to MGM for Mama Melrose’s Fantasmic dinner package (430) followed by TOT, RNR and Fantasmic!!! (MM’s is new for us) Actual events - Today we took our time in getting up. We weren't really in the mood to get up and slept later - I think till about 8am. We got up and got dressed, after deciding that we did not want to eat breakfast at the hotel, we headed toward the Magic Kingdom. We entered the park and headed to the Watch shop to look for a watch for me. I have wanted a Disney Citizen watch for months - and my mom had offered to get it for me for Christmas - however she didn't. So instead - she told me to get the one that I wanted and tell her how much it was and she would give me a check for the amount. We looked at a couple of watches, but I decided to wait and look at World of Disney - since I get a 10% discount there. After a quick review of watches, we headed to the Main Street Bakery. We both got breakfast quiche, and I got fruit and cheryl got a chocholate muffin. Breakfast was really good. We also had photos taken on Main Street - the Disney photos didn't come out that well - but here is one that the CM took with my camera. On Main Street in our "Prince" shirts After breakfast, we headed for Tomorrowland. We picked up a FastPass for Space MOuntain, and after realizing that the time for Buzz was very short - we decided to go on Space Mountain directly. We rode on the right hand side of the tracks. We chatted with a CM who was limiting access at the end of the queue about our new "Prince Wanted" shirts. The CM joked with us that there should be an exemption for WDW CMs since although they don't own the castle - they have access to the castle.... He was a sweetie and was fun to joke with. On this trip of SM - Cheryl remembered to remove her hat so that we didn't have to replace this one like we did in September. We left SM and headed to Buzz Lightyear and this time - Cheryl did GREAT!!! We both broke 100,000 points but she beat me like 85,000 - she broke 225k!! We decided that on this momentous event, we should buy the photo!! Buzz Lightyear - Cheryl becomes a planatery pilot!!! After Buzz, we headed over to Stitches Great Escape. I did this in December, so I knew what to expet, plus I had done Alien Encounter a few times.... but Cheryl had never done AE - so she had no clue about what to expect. I am not entirely sure what she thought. I will admit - I miss AE - I think it was a better "show". While we were waiting to enter SGE - we called my mom and had her call my dad to find out what our race times were -- Terri - (drum roll please) 3:29:30 and Cheryl 3:29:31!!! We made the official cut off time!! I ran 10 minutes fast weighing 15 lbs more I am SO shocked and can see the results of my training with Alicia and Mel and I WILL be continuing that !!! We were both VERY happy with those results!!! We headed back over to Space Mountain to use our fastpass and our new fav CM was at the door, so we chatted more and he gave us a 3 person fastpass!!! WooHoo!! Magic Moment!!! THis time, we rode the left track since we had ridden the right track earlier. We have decided that we prefer the right track over the left. I think they are supposedly mirror images of each other - but I like ride on the right track better. After our second zip through the cosmos we headed toward Big Thunder Mountian and Splash Mountain. We got a FP for BTMRR and got in the 30 minute standby line for Splash mountain... I think it took more like 40 minutes.. That is the longest I can remember ever standing in line for anything in January!!! I really really love this ride. We had a mom, child and dad in front of us and no one behind us. The dad was such a character that Cheryl gave him bunnyears as we went down the plunge , that was too funny!!!Right after our plunge into the briar patch (I even saw the gopher that says "Go Gators!") we headed to the BTMRR and ended up behind a brother/sister team who had completed the half marathon the day before - they were both young. She ran the race with NO training!!! I could not do that - I don't think I could have done that at 21 years of age!! . I really really like this ride - as does Cheryl!!After our trip through the wild west - we headed to the Plaza Restaurant for lunch. We were quickly seated inside and we both ordered a cheeseburger and fries with ice tea and a diet coke. Cheryl and I agree that although this was a good lunch - the burgers at Beaches and Cream are much more superior!! More later - Space Mountain round #3; leaving the MK, and the great donkey search!!!

Re: Racing the Duck - Day 2/pt 3 - 1/17 Monday - Day 3 - part 2 Space Mountain round #3; leaving the MK, and the great donkey search!!! After we'd finished lunch - we had our free FastPass for Space Mountain and decided to head that way for one last zip before leaving the park. We hopped in the fastpass line - and within minutes were boarding another rocketship for a ride on the righthand track. I love this ride!! Cheryl was not too thrilled after we were done - I think the "right after lunch" ride - was not a good idea for her.... After SM - we walked down Main Street and stopped at the Emporium to see if we could locate a certain stuffed animal. ChezP has asked me to keep an eye open for the 2005 Valentines Eeyore. She had looked for it whiel she was at WDW - and was unable to locate one. We didn't see this little guy at the Emporium... so we left MK, headed back to the Lodge to get the car and head to DTD for another search for the guy as well as a trip to Basin. We drove to DTD - and I was suprised how empty the area was. I had thought it would be crowded... but it wasn't. We started at World of Disney - and I looked for my new watch - which I found and got with my AP discount!!! I love that discount. I also picked up a copy of the 2005 Birbaum Guide for Scott to look at, as well as the "peace, love and Mickey Mouse" shirt that I have wanted for awhile. Cheryl also found a great purple Mickey Mouse Club tshirt!! We looked around for the Valentine Eeyore - and he was not there. We asked the CMs and they said it would not be out until closer to Valentines Day.... ok. While we were in WOD - we found a great shirt for Scott.. "Grumpy's Pit Crew" - I could not find his size at WOD, and so we decided to swing by Team Mickey before we left DTD to see if we could find it in his size. We left WOD - and headed to Basin. Scott has really come to like the bathbombs, so I had to go to Basin to restock my supply. Then on to Team Mickey. We found the shirt for Scott!! Too bad they didn't have it at WOD where I could have gotten the 10% off from my AP discount.... but I got it for him and he really thinks its cute, "not too Mickey" for him. We then headed over to Pooh's Corner as our last ditch effort to find Cheryl's Eeyore..... no luck I had really hoped I could find it for her -- but it was not to be found. We left DTD and headed to WL to drop off our shopping goodies and take a 45 minute rest before we head off to dinner with our Prince!!! Next up = A date with a Prince!!

Re: Racing the Duck - Day 2/pt 3 - 1/17 Great update Terri! I too am sorry that you were unable to find Valentine Eeyore but if it turned out to be the same one that is currently on sale at the Disney stores up here in Canada, it's one Eeyore that I myself am not all that keen on obtaining and I adore Eeyore. But they've turned him completely pink. EEEEEEK!!!!! For once Eeyore is actually justified in looking so sad. ![]() Joy
