Wow - what a great trip report. I love how slow and easy the last couple of days were. Must have been so relaxing.

[/ QUOTE ]

Its hard to describe how peaceful it is out on the water; so far removed from the hustle and bustle of Magic Kingdom yet close enough to get a total appreciation for what Walt's imagination created for us.

I found myself just sitting there marveling at MK and trying to envision what it must have been like when Walt flew over this nearly worthless swamp land and how all those little picture cells formed in his brain and became his vision for what he wanted in his world.

Then my thoughts turned to the enormity of the transformation. SSL didn't exist and was manmade. Bay Lake was completely drained and dug down to bare white sand. Oh to have been there to watch the magical transformation.

Think of it. Here we were 7 "strangers" separated by oceans and thousands of miles who came together all due to one man’s dream that built more than just an amusement park, but a very magical place that the whole world can share and enjoy together. In the word’s of that great man, “Remember, It All Started With A Mouse” although we all know it all started with a visionary man, Walt Disney, who loved making people happy.

Coming up next: Our first day in the parks!

*Literally wipes tears from her eyes* Wow, that was beautifully stated and actually made me tear up quite a bit!

[I mouth the Spanish warning “Por Favor Mantangese Alejado De Las Puertas” (Please stay clear of the doors) and my son smirks at me and rolls his eyes. I love playing like a kid with him to lighten him up a bit from trying to pretend he is so serious. ]

Everytime we rode the monorail my dad and I would always say the spanish version too. It took us like 3 days to finally memorize it. LoL...shows how silly we were too. I guess it is a rather common thing to do. LoL. *ROTFLOL and wallowing in memories* Ahh disney world...makes life feel absolutely perfect doesnt it!

Awwww thanks! I must say I am an old softy for stuff like this and when I sat back to mentally digest this spectacular moment, I also teared up a bit. Maybe we need to have a peace summit for all the world's leaders at Disney. Of course it will never happen, but think about how much people from all over the globe come together the share this place. If we could just focus on the commonalities we share with our fellow humans rather than the differences I know that we could be a much more peaceful world.

Uh oh I just had visions of the 1960s Coca Cola commercial with all these people singing "If I Teach The World To Sing In Perfect Harmony..." Its a corny message, but so true!

Re: A Magical Christmas 2004 at FtW w/ RocklandRVers

Actually I should clarify the camera issue.

It was DS's camera in question and he was responsible for that along with a backpack that held umbrellas, ponchos and Brita bottles. Since it was cool most of the trip we didn't need to bring water, so that wasn't missed. BUT we sure did miss the umbrellas and ponchos particularly on Christmas Day

Like I said after I finished my lecture on personal responsibility,I was fully prepared to buy a couple of disposable cameras. But I guess the whole thing hurt DS's pride and he was opposed to it. So I let the issue drop rather than continue it into an ongoing saga.

When we got home from the trip we found the backpack containing everything including the digital camera was on a table by the front door.

Just one of those things that happens on any trip. Since this was the worst thing that went wrong, all in all our Christmas 2004 vacation at Disney was a success.

Bump. I thought it might be nice to compare Chezp's and Statelady01's accounts to ours for December 20th's fun filled meeting!
