| 20th Anniversary Surprises!..Pre-trip The participants for this surprise:Me (Jane) 45 - Mom to Bri, Josh, Rian & Emily, HUGE fan of anything Disney-related DH (Shan) 46 - A very good sport who also loves Disney and wisely bought me my first AP on our first date (and wore personalized MM ears at the church reception...Gotta love him!) I had originally planned to take Shan to WDW ALONE for our 20th, but there seemed to be so many roadblocks (many of HIS doing), that I gave up. About a week ago, he wandered into the sunroom where I was moping..I mean, keeping a stiff upper lip and watching Montel to cheer myself up..and he says nonchalantly, "Hmmm..So, IF we were to leave on Friday the 11th, could you arrange a substitute for the 14th and 15th?" It's a good thing that he's 6'6 and I'm only 5'4, because if we had been the same size I probably would have injured him with my flying leap! The dogs began jumping up and barking, and all the kids came in yelling, and it was wonderful mayhem! (the kids were SLIGHTLY less than excited when I mentioned that this was a trip for just Mom and Dad..LOL) LET THE PLANNING BEGIN!!! I grudgingly made dinner (who could eat?!) and got onto the net to begin searching out options. We found airfare for $149, which for our neck of the woods is great!, and booked it. Now, since the flight does not actually leave until 6 AM on the 12th, and the airport is 90 minutes away, and, most importantly, I NEED to be on my way on the 11th the SECOND Shan comes in from work, I began looking for a hotel near the airport. PIXIE DUST!!! Found a suite for $38 right across the street! When I called to verify the price, the clerk mentioned that it had been a misprint online, but the chain would honor it as I had found it! Pushing my luck, I casually asked if breakfast was included. (I tactfully did not mention that we would have to leave to check in at the airport at 5 am) Breakfast is, and for early travelers, they offer a box to go! I mean, is Tink on my shoulder or what?! Now, we are DVC'ers, so we have a 1 br at OKW for the 13th and 14th, so I needed something for the 12th. There is not much around at WDW for that night...I could have booked a fairly expensive room at the WL, but after contemplating where I wanted to spend my money, we opted for the Best Western in the village for $45! (A King room with a Disney view!) We will arrive at about noon, and spend the day at the village, probably taking the boat to OKW to get mugs, and for me to ask about a special treat in our villa for Shan Then we will get up early (I MAY let him sleep until 7!!) and I am running to the buses to go to OKW! We have decided to resort hop, sampling bits of food and beverages all day Sunday. What fun it will be to NOT order cheese pizza, chicken nuggets, and to maybe drink out of a glass WITHOUT a lid!! Monday, we are spending the day at EPCOT. We decided that of all the parks, this is the one that we would most like to explore romantically. ![]() I am leaving TUesday unplanned, as Shan has some plans of his own for us (Hmmm..I wonder how they will fit in with mine?), and then we fly home late Tuesday night. Short, but we will be flying, not driving, just the 2 of us, and there will be NO childbirth involved! A first for us! Counting down, and can hardly wait!
