| Re: Escaping the Eagles and the Pats.... ![]() It's so hard waiting for people to get ready for WDW when you just want to go, go, go! And stopping to eat inside - I understand completely. DH always wants to stop for breakfast when we drive the night through and I'm like, but we're almost there! It looks like you have a wonderful view from your room. Can't wait to read more. |

| Re: Escaping the Eagles and the Pats.... Day 1 - Part 2 We left WL about 500pm, after stopping at Roaring Forks to pick up a refillable mug for a certain coffee addict (and of course, we had to fill it with coffee too ). Wishes was scheduled for 700pm and I wanted Scott to see Wishes (ok, so it's my favorite fireworks show as well). We hopped on the little boat to the Contemporary and very quickly realized it was going to be WINDY and cool tonight. I commented that it may be too windy for Tink's flight... Scott looked at me like , but then he does that often...We arrived at the CR, and immeadiately headed up to the monorail station. No dallying allowed today dear!!! Go, go, go. As we approached the monorail line, there were 2 people standing in front of us - and I leaned over and asked the CM (as quietly as I could) "can we ride up front if there is room??" He said "sure - wait right there". Smiles from Terri . Scott was looking around the CR and commented it was something that he remembered from a previous trip - the "hotel with the train going through it". Not quite dear, but points for trying....The gold monorail arrived and unloaded its passengers, and we were escorted to the front with an older gentleman. And then we SAT... and SAT....Scott even asked me if we were supposed to go somewhere . There was a convention at the CR and they were holding the train for all the conventioners to board - and they took their sweet time. They will run in suit and tie to catch a plane, but just lag along holding up others when it suits them . FINALLY - that wonderful saying "Please stand clear of the doors....." was said - at which time, Scott turned to me and said - "Isn't that the shutdown message on your laptop???" Thanks Lynn!!!We pulled out the CR station headed for the TTC. After arriving at the TTC - we sat and waited again. This time with a train completely full so that (according to Tim, our monorail pilot) "The lime monorail can attempt to hit us and I can try to get out of the way!!!" WHAT?? Come to find out - this is a safety procedure that they run every time a monorail comes out of the barn - but I must tell you - it took like 10 minutes!!! We FINALLY pulled out of the TTC and headed to the Polynesian. Scott and I said goodbye to the monorail and entered the Polynesian. At this point - I swear I heard this 6'4" person standing next to me say - "wow, this is cool - we should stay here " - now I know why I this guy!!! We made the obligatory bathroom stop and went over to Kona cafe to buy Scott some Kona blend coffee as suggested by Jillybean (he recently discovered he likes fresh ground coffee ) - but the coffee bar was closed , so we would have to come back (hmmm.... Kona cafe for breakfast maybe??).We went back out, got back on the monorail and headed to MK for Wishes. Scott looked at the GF as we passed and asked me if I was really staying there in May... yep!!! He said he thought it looked like a great place to honeymoon ( inside my mind - not shown on my face). He also commented that the Wedding Pavillion was a great idea - have the wedding and lots of things to distract people from bugging you before and after the ceremony (ok - is this guy for real??? I it!!!).We headed to MK (they are doing rehab work on the monorail station, so you board and exit on the same side - makes it a wee bit tight). We headed toward Guest Services since we had to exchange our seasonal pass vouchers for seasonal passes. That being done, I taught Scott how to use the finger-reader thingy - and the CM said I did it so well - I could have her job (only in concept - I love my job!).We walked up Main Street and I was explaining things as we went along. He has NO memory of anything on MSUSA at all from the trip when he was 13. The turretts on the castle are half completed for the May celebration (I have photos from Sunday) and of course, the Hub is completely closed off adn boarded up - so no Parters Statue for us. We made a right hand turn and headed to Tomorrowland. We had about 45 minutes before Wishes - and we decided we wanted one ride... Buzz - Stand by 45 minutes, Space Mountain, Stand by 65 minutes, TTA.... Broken.... ok - so no rides... We headed back to Main Street to get some coffee and hot chocolate since it was COLD and Scott's cough was getting bad (moist heat seemed to help). We stopped at the Bakery and 15 minutes later (not bad since the line was out the door) and $3.60 later - we had hot drinks (and I mean HOT!!!).We crossed MS (Scott wanted to stand in the middle of the street - I begged off) and headed to the official passporter Wishes watching station - next to the tipboard in front of Crystal Palace.... Scott and his other love - coffee ![]() I Wishes!!! Scott stood behind me and held me and I sang along with Wishes.... he was really impressed with the show - albeit very COLD too!!! I was right - too windy for Tink's flight (so I explained the whole thing - I still got the look). After Wishes, we said goodnight to the castle, walked back down Main Street with the hoard and headed to the boat to WL. We missed the first one by like 6 people, and waited for the second -which was only 5 minutes behind. Even though it was cold - we sat up front (great excuse to cuddle ).After arriving back to the room, we quickly dumped all the extra stuff and headed to Artist Point. We checked in and were given a buzzer since we were told it would be a 15-20 minute wait. We headed to the Territory Lounge where Scott got a Coors light and I got a glass of Pino Gris wine and settled in to wait it out. Next - a fantastic dinner, strawberries and champagne |

[/ QUOTE ] Wally has been trained to refer to them as resorts...but he's always called it a Monorail. ![]() However, I do find it troublesome that he has NO RECOLLECTION of Main Street USA????? Is he serious?? Great update, I'm glad that the next one looks like it's shaping up to be a good one too! |

| Re: Escaping the Eagles and the Pats.... Great trip report Terri. I don't know if I could have stayed as calm as you over the packing situation. Sounds like your off to a great start of introducing Scott to the World. |
