Sounds an awful lot like someone, despite really wanting to resist it, is discovering that magic really does exist after all. What a wonderful gift you've given him! And I'll bet his positive feelings of Disney have just increased since you've gotten back, haven't they? So, did he try on any groom ears? ![]() Great report as always, Terri! Can't wait to read more. |

| Re: Escaping the Eagles and the Pats.... Saturday - Feb 5, 2005 WCC, RNRC and TOT - awake yet?? We woke up EARLY this morning (is 515am too early???). Scott was coughing and could not sleep. He tried to lay really still so as not to wake me up - but I woke up. We laid in bed, talked awhile, ate the last 2 strawberries, finally got up, got dressed and decided (after making ) that we should have breakfast. I suggested a sit down breakfast somewhere or grabbing something at Staring Rolls bakery at MGM - but reminded him that would not be till after 9am... I also discovered that I forgot to pack socks!!! looks like I need to go shopping (Scott's eyes )We ended up eatting breakfast at Whispering Canyon Cafe!!! We headed downstairs at 7am and Scott went to refill the mug with more . I went to the front desk to see if Keri was working - and she was. She came out, I hugged her and thanked her for all her wonderful help in making this a special trip for Scott. She said she checked the room reservation daily and it had all kinds of "do not reassign on threat of death" notes all over it. I told her the story of the clandestine strawberry time switch which had her rolling. Right then, Scott came back and I introduced them. Scott told her he was having a wonderful time, that we the champagne and strawberries and that he would be hard pressed to stay somewhere else aftering being at WL (this would sort of change later in the day). We said our goodbyes with promises to stay in touch and headed to breakfast.Scott originally said he was not hungry and would have something small with the coffee.... until I ended up ordering the denver omlet. He said that sounded wonderful and ordered the same. He then went to inspect the bathroom again and when our food came out - the CM, Alex, asked me if I needed anything else. I told him I wanted something, but was loathe to ask for it.... he said what is it? I said "Its red and comes in a bottle with 57's on it". He smiled and said "I will be right back". Right then Scott came back... Alex came out from the back with a CASE - yes I said a CASE of BRAND new ketchup bottles and proceeded to unload it onto our table!!! So much for quietly asking..... Scott looked at me in extreme confusion... and I had to explain the ketchup thing. Next time we go to WCC for breakfast - and I order something with hashbrowned potatoes - I am going to roaring forks and getting ketchup packets!!!Most of breakfast was quiet - which was nice. Two other tables asked for ketchup - and two little boys helped me move all our bottles elsewhere. I don't remember what the meal cost at all - and Scott said that if it was any noiser, he wouldn't want to eat there.... ted dear:.We left WCC at 815 and headed for the bus to MGM. As we walked to the bus we passed the Villas. And he started asking questions about DVC... so I told him what I knew and that as soon as I buy a house - I am buying DVC. period. We stood and waited for the bus for 10 minutes - and no MGM bus arrived. Then a DTD bus pulled up and right as it stopped, the sign switched to "MGM". I was happy . I usually drive to MGM - but since we were going from MGM to EPCOT, I did not want to deal with the car if I could avoid it.We arrived at MGM right about 845 and got in line to go through the turnstiles. Scott drank his and I went to get us a schedule and a map.![]() Scott and his coffee We entered the turnstiles, walked up Hollywood Blvd and ended up waiting for rope drop. While we waited - we went into a couple of the shops - where I saw this guy (Melissa and Tina - this is for you) ![]() Elvis Stitch Right about then, we heard rope drop and made a beeline to TOT and RNRC. We got a fastpass for TOT (although we would not need it) - this was Scott's first Fastpass... and walked on RNRC. I should say here that Scott is not a big fan of Roller coasters. Since he is so tall, with such long legs, he often feels like he will fall out of the coaster. So he was a wee bit apprehensive about riding this ride. I assured him that he would not fall out. We ended up in the 4th row of the car - which is good since I prefer the front to the back (less likely to give me a headache!!). I SO this ride. You could strap me in and leave me for a few days!!! Our song was "Emotion" and I did not hear a peep from my right side at all - no yell, scream, laugh, nothing, nada... ok - now I am worried... I think he hated it. We came to stop, I looked over and he has the biggest goofiest grin on his face - he loved it!!!After a bathroom break at RNRC - we powwowed about what to do until Fastpass time at TOT. We went looking for a sweatshirt I want. Cheryl has it -- it is a grey hoody with "Grumpy's Gym" on the back. I have seen it as a blanket lots of times - but I can not find it as a sweatshirt. We ended up at "Villians in Vogue" Scott walked around - while I looked for the sweatshirt. I talked to a CM - he didn't know anything about it.... and then I saw the shirt that Cheryl had wanted in January - the evil hag from Snow White!!! And Malificent from Sleeping Beauty. I called Cheryl and told her they had them - and did she want me to get them?? YES!! So $53.00 later -- I still don't have my sweatshirt, my BF is tired of shopping and Cheryl has 2 new shirts. .We headed across the street so Scott could look at the old car and the old taxi next to the DVC booth. He and his brother are restoring a 1940 Chevy - so he was in HEAVEN.... old cars. We then noticed that it was fastpass time for TOT and headed to the hotel. We entered the lobby and Scott said "they need to clean" ... I told him - "It's supposed to be like that, theming, theming". He is not used to a story and theming as part of the ride. He has had more exposure to the King's Island types of places - where it is a ride - no back story - nada.Continued Next Post |

Thanks Lynn!!! [/ QUOTE ] What an astute fellow he is! And tall! Glad you guys are having a great time.More - more! |

| Re: Escaping the Eagles and the Pats.... We go straight into the library - and Scott says "is this where the room falls out?" "Won't we get hurt?" The television came on, and we entered the basement. We chose the left side and were seated in the middle of the car, with Scott's long legs on the aisle. This was probably the longest ride of TOT I have been on. It was really good. Lots of bounces. We stopped to look at the photos again, and Scott was smiling, but we decided we didn't want to buy any photos. After RNRC and TOT we headed back to "One man's Dream". Scott owns his own business and he likes to read about/learn about the life of businessmen that succeeded in achieving their dreams. We walked through the exhibits about Walt's life, and then we saw the movie. I think I will get him a book on Walt's life and about the Disney corporation. I know they are out there. After one man's dream - I asked about WWTBAM.. and he had no interest at all , oh well - looks like I won't be playing it with him. At least not yet.We decided we were ready to leave MGM and take the boat to EPCOT. We exited the turnstiles, and headed for the boat ramp - where we missed the boat by like 45 seconds. Oh well. We stood on the ramp, looked at the water, teh ducks, the seagulls and the fish. Yes the fish. There were a group of bass (about 2 lbs each according to Mr. fisherman) and we had to watch them. I was so thrilled - but he loves fishing and I love Disney. Compromise. ![]() Terri waiting for the boat to EPCOT We hopped on the boat, sat in back and watched Boardwalk go by, as well as the Swan/Dolphin (Scott thinks they are even too gawdy for Disney!!!), and talked about lunch. It was now 11am... and we ate breakfast at 730am, and we had not had a snack - unless you consider his coffee a snack. So I started talking lunch at EPCOT. What was he in the mood for?? He said "cheeseburger". Hmmmmm.... We are at the Yacht Club stop - and I yelled - let's go!! I have an idea!! So he hopped off the boat at YC, and walked to Beach Club - where we ate lunch at Beaches and Cream!!! We both had burgers and ice tea and french fries. No ice cream (remember - he doesn't do sugar, makes him ill) but I told him about the Kitchen Sink - and how someday I was trying the No Way Jose. He thought the mudslide sounded good too. We had a great lunch and then decided to walk to EPCOT for an afternoon of dinosaurs, fast cars, and spaceships!!! |
