| Escaping the Eagles and the Pats.... Complete!! - 2/11 Escaping the Superbowl - otherwise known as "The Grown Up Trip to WDW" Your cast – Terri (34) Certified Disney nut. This is my 25th (Silver Anniversary) Trip to WDW Scott (33) Not sure about Disney. Third trip to WDW – First as an adult. I guess I should start by telling you how this all started. As you know (and boy do you as Sarah (Dopeygirl) has reminded me) Scott and I started dating right at the beginning of December. It did not take long for Scott to realize that I really love Disney World and one week into our relationship – I had to spend a week at the Wyhndam at DTD for a conference for work, and managed to squeeze in Candlelight Processional and Christmas shopping ( The Call this "work" Trip report) . Then another week later, I left to go to New Mexico for Christmas and of course, since there was a large Passporter gathering planned in Orlando on the 17th, and my flight was the 18th, I arranged another trip ( MVMCP Passporter Meet Trip Report). This second trip to WDW in 2 weeks raised a certain person’s eyebrows a bit and he said, “I just don’t get it”. It seems that Scott had been to WDW twice as a child. Once when he was 13 and once in High School for one day. The 13 yr trip was a day trip to MK and a day trip to EPCOT. He thought MK was for kids, while EPCOT was really neat – with the “robots that walked up stairs” and the dinosaurs… remember he was 13. Years later, he went to WDW – EPCOT for a one day trip while in High School and liked that. I suggested that for him to “get it” he had to try it. There was hemming, hawing and a final admission that I was right – but he only wanted to do the “grown up” WDW. OK… new challenge for Terri. I have never done the “grown up” WDW. So – this is where I started my planning. Since the Superbowl is being hosted by the city of Jacksonville, I thought this would be a good weekend to get out of town!!! So we selected the weekend of 4-6 Feb 2005. We decided to leave Jacksonville at noon, Friday February 4 and come home in the evening of 6 Feb 2004, I think we will arrive home around 6pm. Here are our plans: Friday – Feb 4, 2005 6am – Scott leaves for work 7am – Terri’s gym appointment 8am – Terri home, shower, packing, final preps 1130am – Scott leaves work to meet Terri at his house. 12pm – On the road to Orlando in Terri’s car. Leave Scott’s truck at home. 300pm – Arrive WDW and check into WL Courtyard view (hopefully king bed room!!) 330/400pm – Head to MK for an easy afternoon of rides and just walking around and taking it easy. How bout a Mickey bar?? 700pm – Wishes!! 800pm – Dinner PS at Artist Point 930pm – Tuxedo strawberries and Disney house champagne delivered to our room Saturday – Feb 5, 2005 Get up when we get up. No alarm clocks or wake up calls this trip. Breakfast – not much of an issue here. Scott is a coffee drinker (that reminds me I need to pack his coffee grinder and coffee), so we can grab something at the parks… Bus to MGM in the morning. Adult rides – TOT, RNR, WWTBAM, and anything else that grabs his fancy. Boat to EPCOT Lunch somewhere in World Showcase – very likely counter service Tour EPCOT – including Mission Space, Test Track (he loves cars!!!), Ellen’s adventure (he remembers the dinosaur), Innoventions (which would actually be new to me), Spaceship Earth (I have to do some things I like); anything else… Maybe living seas…. Then head to WS and tour our way around so that we arrive at Canada around 655pm. Check in at Podium for 700pm dinner at Le Cellier Illuminations after dinner. Monorail/boat back to WL Crash Sunday – Feb 6, 2005 Check out of WL (Terri will be very very sad )Magic Kingdom in the morning Do all the adult rides – anything that we wanted to do but were unable to do on Friday afternoon. He as promised me one ride on Peter Pan’s Flight and he sounds very interested in Philharmagic. Of course we will ride the Mountains and play a round or two of Buzz. Not sure if I am willing to lose to him at the shooting gallery (he is a major good shot). And we don’t dare miss Haunted Mansion. Sorry Toon Town fans, we will be avoiding that place like the plague. Lunch – Columbia Harbor House After lunch around 130 Head to Downtown Disney for a quick trip to Basin for Bathbomb refills, etc Hit the road no later than 230pm Arrive Jacksonville around 500pm. I think that is all we have planned at the moment. I promise photos and a TR when we get home... no live report this time. The laptop is staying in Jacksonville. |

| Re: Escaping the Eagles and the Pats.... Hi Terri, Sounds like a good plan. I hope Scott gets it after this trip because I know a certian someone who is not going to give up her favorite place in the world. What makes it a perfect plan is that you will be home in time to watch the Superbowl as it starts just after six. ![]() boBºoº |
