| Re: Holiday Hijinx at the World! New Update Posted 2/8- Teppanyaki Monday, December 20 Part 1 No pictures for this installment- it's about our spa adventure and I didn't take photos! It was an early morning and when I stepped out on the balcony it hit me just how cold it really was. We had been hearing since we had arrived that this day would be one of the coldest in some time but it didn't really register until I was actually out there in it. I began to secretly thank heaven that I would be inside a warm spa- and started to fear a bit for Kevan and Mark- who would be outside learning about WDW trains for two hours, most liklely freezing to death. We drove over to the Contemporary where we split up- Cheryl and I headed into the CR to catch the monorail. On the way up, I pointed out the new 2nd floor check in area for California Grill as I knew they were eating there later in the week. Honestly, I think this was a fine idea- it was too cramped up there in the restaurant as you stepped off the elevator- I can't wait to try it out in May and see how much better it might make the check in process for California Grill. Hopped on the monorail and since so early, we got up front- love that view!! We took our time at the GF, making our way through the lobby as we had a bit of extra time. It was very quiet and peaceful this time of day! We arrived at the spa right on time and headed back for our treatments. Cheryl was called back first but I went for my 50 minute massage soon after. As always, it goes so quick. I enjoyed it but in retrospect, I regretted having only one long treatement instead of two or three smaller ones. I had a Head,Back and Neck massage in June and theraputically (is this a word?) speaking, that did alot more for me than the 50 minute one. However, I was still really relaxed when I was done and so relaxed that I crashed on the couch in the lounge while waiting for Cheryl. When I woke up I found her heading to the jacuzzi so we had a nice soak and then decided to head on our way. Love the grapefruit foo in the showers- nice way to end your experience there. Cheryl remarked to me about how there wasn't much to the spa and it is small. I would have loved an indoor pool and I think they could do something a bit better with the lounge/waiting area. But believe me no compaint that I wouldn't go back- I am in May- but would like to try out Saratoga Springs one day too. Coming Up: All I want is a pastry! |
