| Re: Holiday Hijinx at the World! New Update Posted 2/8- Teppanyaki Monday 20 December, 2004 After we paid our tabs at the spa, we headed back to the monorail so we could catch one to EPCOT via the TTC. I love the ride on the monorail over to EPCOT, it’s longer and has great views- especially as you come in around Future World. The bag check line was horrendous and what was so weird was the one for people with no bags was about double the length! Odd!! We both were really hungry and decided to try and grab a quick bite on the way to meet the guys. I love the danish pastries at Fountainview and it was on the way, so we beelined for it until we came to the door- the line was almost extending out of the building! So much for that idea! Cheryl suggested some hot chocolate over by Canada and given the biting wind and the really cold temps- it sounded fantastic to me so we ventured on towards the International Gateway. As we rounded the corner, we ran straight into the guys. I immediately asked them how the train tour was and they said it was really good but I could have sworn there were icicles hanging off them- just kidding, but Kevan was quick to tell me the super cold temps and the wind were hard to deal with. All in all, they learned a lot and we were disappointed when they told us they weren’t allowed to take many photos- except for this one of the conductor leading the tour: As we were standing there talking we hit the character motherload so to speak- the bus pulled up and it was like having them all to ourselves- Kevan and I were first to meet Mickey at that greet! I spotted Stitch and he was much nicer to me- he teased me a lot this particular time! We made our way round to Mexico where I insisted on Rio del Tiempo- I know it’s dated but again as with many things at Disney, sometimes the dated is nostalgic and I like it. I also love the fireworks and some of the scenes in Rio del Tiempo. After, we enjoyed browsing the marketplace. On to Norway and Maelstrom! This ride is a good one although I have seen the film after one too many times and we headed straight for the door on that. We also explored the Stave Church- Lynn actually showed me the inside in August- I didn’t even realize it was possible to go inside before then!! After our tour of Norway, we split up for our lunches with Mark and Cheryl heading to the Garden Grill and we made our way back to Mexico to check in to the San Angel Inn. Coming Up Next: Hey, I know you! |

| Re: Holiday Hijinx at the World! New Update Posted 2/8- Teppanyaki We arrived at San Angel Inn just in time for our priority seating and despite the fact it looked awfully busy, we were seated right away. However, our table was at the very back by the wall separating the restaurant from the Mercado area and this disappointed Kevan big time. We thought about asking for another table but I was so hungry even a few moments delay would further anger my stomach so we decided to just stay put. I ordered tacos al carbon and Kevan got the nachos along with 2 Dos Equis beers. Everything was served in really short order and steaming hot- we truly enjoyed our meal. I have heard folks that have had disappointing experiences here, but so far we have been lucky and enjoyed every trip. Our tab came to just under $40 with the tip. We got through lunch rather quickly so we looked around the Mercado again and I persuaded Kevan for one more spin on Rio del Tiempo- which he was okay with! We then headed back to Norway to wait on Cheryl and Mark- as we agreed on getting dessert in the Kringla bakery. Kevan decided on another look in the Stave Churches- and we got this cool photo of the outside: After, we just parked ourselves in front of the church and who would come up but Bill and Jan! It was great to run into them and we had a lovely conversation- we really enjoyed meeting them at the MVMCP and it was great to catch up and see what they had been up to. Cheryl and Mark came just a few minutes after that and we headed over to the bakery. I got the almond pretzel and for the life of me- I can’t remember what Kevan had. The pretzel is so big that I couldn’t finish it- so Mark and I fed some of it to the sparrows who were hovering around. |
