I saw your cell of Mickey and Minnie doing the Hula by the elevators and thought of you! Great TR! PS: Katie LOVED the hula lessons! They were awesome! |

| Re: Holiday Hijinx at the World! Thread 2 of 2- New! December 18, 2005 We met Cheryl and Mark in the lobby as promised and went up for a look at the villa. It was amazing- and we loved all the wonderful touches that really made it homey. The bathroom was great- the walk in shower was really big and beautifully done! My favorite part had to be the living area and the kitchen- it was really lovely. After lifting our jaws up off the floor in awe of the villa, we headed over to EPCOT. This was Kevan’s first stay at an EPCOT resort and I had been promising him for months- he would love being able to walk to EPCOT. I wasn’t disappointed- he remarked several times how he thought it was a big check mark in the Beach Club’s column. So off to Morocco we went and checked in at Restaurant Marraekesh. Geesh, the place was positively empty. As soon as we were seated, I remarked on the absence of the belly dancer and was assured by Chez and Mark she would be out during the course of the meal. This also would be the point the girls began the relentless teasing of the guys in regards to the belly dancer. We couldn’t resist. Waiting on the belly dancer.. I was really eager to try Marrakesh and lots of things actually looked appealing. I ended up with a Sultan Sampler and Kevan went for that as well. I must say the chicken kebabs served in the sampler were divine. There was also a tomato based sauce which was superb. The couscous was okay- but its not my favorite pasta so it could have been served by the belly dancer herself and I probably wouldn’t have been impressed. Speaking of the belly dancer, I must say she was really entertaining and the music was lovely. Of course the boys thought so! She got a teenager to come up and dance with her- he was clearly embarrassed but his friends sure enjoyed it, which I thought was funny. Having enjoyed a fantastic lunch we headed on over to the UK for our meet with Linda (MickeyMAC) and her three kids. I recognized them immediately- as I had met them in June. We had a lovely chat and meet. We only live about 90 miles from one another and we have got to get together more often- the only time we have met is far from home, at Disney! I know Cheryl will have a great photo in her report- as mine didn't turn out too well. So we were talking about last night’s Christmas Party and this is where my Bert the penguin mistake actually became public. Linda was aware of my new fondness for penguins so I excitedly told her I saw one. When she asked where, I replied.. “ Last night at the Christmas Party! With Mary Poppins- Bert the penguin!” All of a sudden, Mark breaks out into this roaring laugh and the others follow suit- Cheryl tells me that Bert was the guy and not the penguin. What? So what is the penguin’s name? Mr. Penguin? Forget that. I like Bert. Thus enters the new-tease-Maureen-with-this-line. Bert the Penguin. Honest mistake but better name for such a cute animal. We grabbed a few photos of the three of us and Cheryl headed into the Toy Soldier to answer the call of the donkey. Before we said goodbye to Linda and the kids- they gave me an adorable Coke ornament with penguins on it- it was so kind of them and I will treasure it always. I headed into the Toy Soldier and met all the Hundred Acre Woods friends. Cheryl hovered around quite adeptly and non chalantly to get a second round of attention from Eeyore after I was finished. We also saw Mary Poppins but no Bert. Penguin or the man. |
