DisneyQuest seems like soooooo long ago.... I am stuck at work burning CD's of vacation pictures for DW, so I caught up on the ol' TR. Frankly, this trip is fading quickly from memory and I don't recall what the parks looked like at all. And who are these Esterle people she keeps talking about? DisneyQuest. Well, it's Chuck E. Cheese, but with a different mouse. On steroids. We've never done it this way, but I think the best bang for the DQ buck would be to combine it with a day at DtD, going in and out of DQ at will [which I'm pretty sure you can do]. Anyway, the experience goes something like this: You get in, and after the world's most boring elevator ride [wink wink], you are thrown to wolves and left to fend for yourself in a noisy world of arcade games that only give and do not take [quarters or tokens of any kind]. Play air hockey till you drop or the kid waiting behind you starts to bite hard. Hop on jet skis, skateboards, dance floors and all manner of crazy things and hop on pop, dance till ya drop and can't sing no more. That's the first floor. The free-play arcade is enticing and can have a child glued to a machine for years. Or if you're my DW, say hello to Defender and goodbye to those you love. But the real reason to go to DQ is the Big Guns. Stuff that only DQ has and only Disney could make [well, not really, but more about that another day - buy me some drinks and we'll talk...]. The rides you must do or don't bother going are: Pirates of the Caribbean [my current fave and a great family team game], the crazy truck/tomb maze thing, [which is fun for screaming kids and frantic parents to try to communicate clearly and logically], the Mighty Ducks Pinball game, [though hard to grasp the game play for some, if you hang back and watch others play, you'll do better], the cosmic bumper car shooter thingy [sorry to confound you all with my detailed insider techie talk here, try to keep up] [this is fun but requires practice and a bit of luck but all you have to do is wait for another turn and bam! keep trying until you get that satisfying smack to the side of your kid's vehicle and he gives you that, "oh, you'll pay for that treachery!" look - this place is all about playing WITH your children and doing evil things to them in the name of good clean fun] [man, these parenthetical remarks are making me dizzy, where was I?] Oh, yeah. The river raft ride is cool, though don't start a game of hitting each other with the paddles because it's only funny until someone pokes their eye out. Then it's hilarious [sez the t-shirt]. Now, I would be remiss in my duties if I did not tell you to go and make your own roller coaster. CyberSpace Mountain has a special place in my heart that can only be [legally] explained over a fine rootbeer in a dark room. But if you should find yourself loading into said Mountain, kindly look down as you enter and note the little plate on the frame that names the manufacturer of said Mountain. I speak no more. If you do meet Bill Nye the Science Guy and make a coaster, go for the gusto. This kind of ride is better experienced at top speed. Work on that coaster until you peak that crazy meter out at 5. Kick up the speed and hang on tight. It's better that way, trust me. Well, the cd's are toasty and the boy is waiting for me at taekwondo. Bye bye. -LSDH

Re: DisneyQuest seems like soooooo long ago.... OMG - the DH posted... and I didn't have to strong-arm him or promise naughty things!! Love all the "hint, hint, nudge, nudge" you were doing, darling. How come you never let me say anything about what you do for a living? (Yet you come here and it's blab, blab, blab... who cares what the lawyers say....) Thanks, sweetie -- I owe you one! Eileen PS - this is being continued in thread two...

Re: none [ QUOTE ] Then it was on to World of Disney and we all fell under the spell of Disney Merchandising. [/ QUOTE ] Eileen, I think we all fall under that spell when we go there to shop! I had to make sure I spent enough money to get that lithograph. ![]() Glad you're posting again, you have a great trip report and great pictures too. Thank goodness you didn't lose your pics with your computer troubles. On to thread 2 to find out more about your adventures... Lynda

Re: none Finally caught up on your first thread!! Love the updates from everyone. You guys are so funny. I made my husband come in and read the Stupid Judy BB episode. I understand being entranced by the Disney merchandising scheme at DtD! It's so much fun shopping there. I hope that you'll still be able to have breakfast at Chef Mickey's! I'm off to your second thread!![]()
