| Re: Using My Powers for Good - 4/29-5/7 - Pre Trip report Just a quick update on the DME issue: I called yesterday to confirm the other family's Tiffany one-way towncar from the airport to the resort. I started chatting with him and asked if he thought that the DME would affect his business. He laughed and said that, actually, lately it had been helping. He explained that they started a soft opening of the service about a week ago and there have been so many problems that he has actually seen an increase in the number of calls into his office. Apparently, there have been hugely long waits (up to three hours) for getting people to the resorts. Then, because they bus the people and "truck" the luggage, there have been many reports of lost luggage. Just to double check, I hopped on the boards and saw other reports of problems that completely confirmed what the Tiffany fellow said. Yikes!! Well.... that's not how I wanted the other family to experience Disney. I made a quick call to Donna and she said to book the Tiffany towncar as a round trip then -- she didn't want to deal with a nightmare on the way home! So, they're now booked round trip with a grocery stop and I feel much more comfortable. (And I feel very good about renting a car, since I too would have changed to a round-trip towncar as would've my dad. So, right there the rental has more than paid for itself!) <sigh of relief> Eileen     |

Frank and his family should have arrived in Orlando a few minutes ago and I'm dying to call his cell and make sure everything went well. I just called DH and he still thinks he'll get out of work on time so we'll be off to the airport ourselves in just a few hours. Yay!! I'm so excited. I can't contain my joy! I'll let you know when I'm back and then... get your eyes in shape -- I think this'll be another looooong trip report! Bye! Eileen |

I remembered to call DDE right as I got home from work and they will have temp cards waiting for me at the pick-up window at Epcot. Guess we'll be going to Epcot on Sunday!! | Re: Using My Powers for Good - 4/29-5/7 - We\'re BAAACK! Well, after all the months of planning and pixie dust,.... we're back from our magical adventure in Disney World with our extended family. Even though it's Mother's Day, I'll be working on my trip report! We took tons of pictures with Bob's new camera and he even video-taped all the shows so I have lots and lots to share. <u>And now for the burning questions:</u> How was the weather? (the pre-trip forecasts were iffy) How were the crowds? Did the 050505 events swell the parks? How did we enjoy our Magical Gatherings? Were the two families speaking by the end of the trip? and finally, did I manage to convert my father to the magic of WDW -- or at least explain my obsession? These questions and more (well, much, much more since I'm so wordy with these reports!!!) will be answered as fast as my little fingers can write! More to come... Eileen |
