| Meeting Passporters at WDW & My Birthday!, Day 3 Part 7 MGM & Adventurer\'s Club UPDATE 6/10/05 Dates: May 11 to May 16, 2005 Players: Robin 31, Lansing, MI (11th trip to WDW, 9th since 1999) Sandy 34, Kissimmee, FL (AP Holder since 1999 too many visits to count) Celebration: My 32nd Birthday and Sandy’s 34th birthday ![]() How the trip came about: I was planning on going to WDW for my birthday this year. Last year I had such a terrible birthday and I didn’t want a repeat this year so I decided to head back to Florida. Originally I planned on going to WDW from June 1 to June 6 but a friend of mine talked about going to Illinois to see our minor league team play and I didn’t want to miss out on that so I decided to go sometime in May so I would not miss the Flower and Garden Festival (which I LOVE). I asked for opinions on when I should go on the Passporter boards and Tara suggested I go down with “the girls” are going to be down there from May 11 to May 16. Since I had so much fun in December at the Passporter meet with Cheryl, Mark, Bill & Jan I decided to go down in mid May. I called my sister the next day and asked her if it was okay if I came down and sayed with her for a few days. She was more then happy to accommodate me! Sandy loves it when I go down because she has a lot of fun exploring the parks with me. Things started to fall into place pretty quickly. I booked my airline tickets via Delta. Since I had a $80 voucher my ticket only cost me $108. Tara then IM ed me and asked me if I would be interested in an Illumination Cruise. Are you kidding, YES! She booked Sandy and I on the Cruise Thursday evening. Later on more Passporter meets were added including a Karaoke evening at the Swan and a meet at Adventure Club. Sheila (Wheatenwalker) and I are going to meet at Donald’s Breakfastosaurus on Thursday morning. Sandy and I also decided to do Chef Mickey’s for breakfast on Saturday to celebrate our birthdays (mine is June 5 and hers was April 22). Tara also said she would spend most of the day Friday with me since my sister has school all day. I was so excited this is going to be one very busy but very fun week! I knew Sandy would be in school for about half my stay so I decided it would be best to rent a car. Using coded I found on Mousesavers I booked an Intermediate sized rental car through National for $89 (that includes tax and fees). What a deal! Sandy hates being a chauffer so she was very happy I decided to get a car. As many of you know I LOVE minor league baseball and attend many of the games for our minor league baseball club here in Lansing. I befriended many of the players from our team last year. This year many of those guys are playing in Daytona. I was very happy to find out they would be in town the weekend I was going to be in FL! Yippie so I am going to drive to Daytona the evening I arrive to see the team play. So my birthday vacation was moved up a couple of week but I am still considering this a birthday trip. I don’t care what anyone else says…I am wearing my birthday button. I am very much looking forward to seeing all the new stuff for the 50th Anniversary and spending the face-to-face time with my Passporter friends! I also get to see my sister and the house that my parents are building in Poinciana! |
