Re: Our Month-Long Trip To Orlando! // Day 1, Part 2 - Virginia is For... What?! You all are a riot! We have both ketchup and mustard on our McD's hamburgers. I prefer just mustard - skip the ketchup. I think it's gross when some places do the ketchup, mustard, AND mayo. Yuk!! Anyways, I'm lovin the TR. Just started from the beginning today. Yep, lot's of reading. Like the details since I've never been in that area. Keep it coming girl! ![]()

Re: Our Month-Long Trip To Orlando! // Day 1, Part 3 - The Hotel Doesn\'t Look How It Did Online... Great update! Scary hotels (and people!! LOL). I had to laugh at the South of the Border signs - you brought me back to my childhood. We drove down to FLorida 4 different times - I know we stopped there way back in '71 or '76 and we all thought it was so cute (well, maybe I did - I was a kid LOL) but the last time we stopped there (mid-80's?) it had the look you're describing: run-down, over-priced tourist trap. LOL Still, I love looking for the signs and I totally remember the big Pedro that you took a picture of! Oh, your brother made me laugh when he said he might have to smack you if you teared up at the first Disney sign! LOL Just like a little brother! Can't wait for more!!

Re: Our Month-Long Trip To Orlando! // Day 1, Part 3 - The Hotel Doesn\'t Look How It Did Online... Great up date, Melissa. You're report is really funny. I've never been to Florence, SC. We've always stopped in Colombia, SC. I've seen the sign for sout of the Border and they are funny. Your experience reminds me of the motel we got in Orangeburg, SC. They were remodelling and there was styrofoam everywhere and the water was actually orange. Needless to say, we didn't stay there long. Liz

Re: Our Month-Long Trip To Orlando! // Day 1, Part 3 - The Hotel Doesn\'t Look How It Did Online... Great start to your reports and oreo is sooooo cute. We stayed at the same Holiday Inn in Florence as you guys back in 2003 on our way back from WDW. I remember that being the only decent looking hotel around, and we were tired from driving and needed to stop somewhere. Plus at that time they were promoting that the rooms had just been renovated. It was ok and I do remember that there was alot of people staying there because in the morning when we went to check out they had a breakfast buffet area set up and it was packed.

Re: Our Month-Long Trip To Orlando! // Day 1, Part 3 - The Hotel Doesn\'t Look How It Did Online... Yea another great installment. Your experience at the Ramada reminds me of traveling with my folks when I was a kid. My parents would leave my brother and sister and I in the car and go check the room and decide whether or not we would stay for the night. Can't wait till the next installment. Great pictures and love the ones of Oreo in the car. He is so.............cute! Wanda

Re: Our Month-Long Trip To Orlando! // Day 1, Part 3 - The Hotel Doesn\'t Look How It Did Online... Wow, I have never heard of a bad hotel, the ones we stay in are always nice! But then again, you also have to look for ones that accomodate pets. A great installment, can't wait to read the rest!

Re: Our Month-Long Trip To Orlando! // Day 1, Part 3 - The Hotel Doesn\'t Look Right... [Updated 8/14] Another great update Melissa! We stopped in Lumberton, NC and stayed at a Comfort Suites and thought it was clean and nice but I think it was fairly new at that time. There is nothing worse than walking into a smelly, dirty hotel room when you're on the road. I'm sure your Orlando acomodations were very different. Can't wait to hear about it. ![]()
