Re: Our Month-Long Trip To Orlando! // Day 1, Part 3 - The Hotel Doesn\'t Look How It Did Online... I'm loving your report Melissa! We drive from MA so I'm totally reliving the looongggg ride . I always get super dizzy when we drive to FL. I'm fine in the car, but as soon as I get out I feel like I'm still moving. That stinks that your hotel turned out to be a dump. We never make ressies for the ride down, we usually wait until we come across a hotel that looks nice. I'm looking forward to hearing more! ![]()

Re: Our Month-Long Trip To Orlando! // Day 1, Part 3 - The Hotel Doesn\'t Look How It Did Online... Melissa, I was born in Dillon (home of South of the Border) and grew up within 30 miles of Florence. You were on a really bad strip of hotels, restaurants, etc. I promise that there are some nicer places to stay in Florence (nothing fancy, but at least clean). I believe the next exit down is the mall exit and it has much much nicer shoppping, restaurants, etc. Too bad that you didn't come closer to Columbia - - you could have just bunked with us! ![]() Jill

Re: Our Month-Long Trip To Orlando! *Other Parks? And Updates!* Egads, the hotel nightmare was gross, but sooo funny! You're a great storyteller. Can't wait for more. Eileen PS - I didn't think your comments were disrespectful... just honest about those particular elements of the places you saw. I love my town, but there are definitely areas that make mewant to roll my eyes.

Re: Our Month-Long Trip To Orlando! *Other Parks? And Updates!* LOL...your report is great! Your descriptions are hilarious. I have to admit that this last update had me laughing with your pictures of the billboards and the guys in front of you getting gas as well. Sorry to hear about your experience with the hotels in Florence. Looking forward to more!!

Re: Our Month-Long Trip To Orlando! *Other Parks? And Updates!* OHMIGOSH, Melissa.... we were "thisclose" to each other in Florence.... We stayed at the Best Western which shared a parking lot with the Ruby Tuesday's which was right next to Cracker Barrel... we checked in at 530 and beat the rush at Ruby Tuesday's... we were dining at 545... We were swimming in the Best Western pool directly behind Ruby Tuesday's when you were looking for a place to eat. "IT'S A SMALL WORLD, AFTER ALL" I am loving your trip report... you took a lot of the same pictures that we did... S.O.B. billboards help break the monotony of the drive, as do the "other" ones.

Re: Our Month-Long Trip To Orlando! *Other Parks? And Updates!* [ QUOTE ] Thanks again The last time I read through my report to check for typos I didn't see "hellish" written anywhere, I said the hotel and area was a dump. I know there are a lot of really nice places in the states we drove through, they're just not in the rest areas of I95. I would never want to offend anyone... believe me, NY is the most amazing place in the world, but there are definitely areas I make sure to stay far away from. And when it comes to "Hustling"... NYC is the KING, lmao! I'm not saying anything bad, I'm just saying I'm not ued to seeing those types of things advertised along the highway. Every State/City has it's run-down hotels, restauarants, etc. and we just happened to stop at some of them! [/ QUOTE ] Melissa I just wanted to say that I TOTALLY agree with you and nowhere did you mention hellish. I think that you are doing an awesome job with your trip report and keep it up. I can't wait for more. Oreo is so cute and didn't look happy at the first hotel lol.
