Re: Around the \"World\" in 8 days! *Day 1 Part 2* Updated 9/9!!!

Ok guys, I am SO sorry I neglected this TR...my Microsoft word was only a trial! I was typing my TR in Word and it was all frozen and stuck in there! I was refusing to retype it all! Who sells a laptop with a TRIAL of Microsoft Office! Anyway, weekends will be the prime time for me adding to this. I retelling my story! Enjoy!

[b]After we arrived at the resort I proceeded to the check in counter...with no line I might add. I knew this would be a breeze because I was paid in full and soon we would be on our way. I walk up to the counter and after she enters us into the computer and tells us what building we are in she says, "Ok Katey your remaining balance is $815." I said, "No I am paid in full....I have been paid in full for 3 months." She proceeded to try and figure out what the problem was as I stand there nervously second guessing myself and the fact that I thought I paid. After about five minutes of nosing around in her computer, she still says I owe that much. I didn't want to be one of those rude guests so I asked her if there was anyone she could call to double check. She called two or three numbers and finally figured it out while she was on hold with the third person. Just as I was starting to freak out and sweat!! She goes, "Ohhh! I see what happend....it looks like your ticket & Kyle's ticket exploded at a $400 rate." I was thinking, that sounds painful, those poor tickets, but THANK GOD! I was so glad we got that worked out and I thanked her profusely becuase I had my credit card out and ready to be charged an additional $800 that I thought I owed! She gave us our room cards/MYW tickets, and we were on our way! I was starting to get worried, because we had only been on Disney property for fifteen minutes and I had already had an issue.

We were in the mansions section, "Partierre Place." For those of you who aren't familiar with POR, it is divided into two themes. Alligator Bayou, which is more rustic and closer together, and the Mansions, which are big white bulidings that are very pread out. Alligator Bayou is just to the left of the lobby, and if I'm not mistaken you do not have to cross Sassagoula River to get to them. The Mansions section however are across the river, and you can cross one of two bridges to get to them. Our building was located just to the right of one of the bridges, and right by a bus stop. We have had this silly tradition since I have been little, that I always have to open the room and go in first. So I did! We brought our small bags in and waited for bell services to bring the big stuff. Kyle and I headed down to the shop so that I could make my first purchase of the trip, a new Pal Mickey! I had 50 Disney Dollars from my Disney Visa so I used that to buy him.

After we had secured Mickey on his lanyard we walked down to the bus stop and waited for a bus to MGM. I booked the Fantasmic dinner package for 5:15 at Hollywood and Vine. (More on that later) We wait a short five minutes for our first bus of the trip and we are on our way. As we start
our approach to MGM we all start to get really excited.

I love the music that plays there during a very special weekend in May....STAR WARS WEEKEND! As we unload the bus, I here the sound of the Star Wars theme song, along with screams in the background from TOT. As we cross through the turnstiles I tackle my first Disney Photopass person. I
was so excited to try this out because I had heard so much about it from my awesome passporters. The pictures turned out really cute, and we even bought two of them from the first day, once we got home.

We head down the street and make a right onto Sunset Blvd. where in the distance lies the awesomely scary Tower of Terror. We always head for it first. I turned to my dad and asked, "Does Bonnie like stuff like this?" He responded with "Oh sure, I think so...if I can do it she can." Bonnie had NO idea what in the heck a "Tower of Terror" was, and come to think of it, I don't even think she knew the name of the thing. I think my dad described it as an "elevator ride." haha! We walk over to the standby line and I can't believe there is only a 10 minute standby line, SCORE! (This won't be that
last time either....short lines were a major trend throughout our entire trip. )

We get into line and we don't stop until we reach the lobby. We are ushered right in to the library on the far left.

I got a picture of Kyle and Bonnie right before we went into the library.

Of course, me being the Disney savvy person that I am, as soon as the doors open to go into the library, I head straight for the back right corner to be by the door to
the boiler room. Before we knew it we were being put in line for the rows we would be sitting in throughout the duration of the ride. We are in the front center...MY FAV!! I put my dad and Bonnie on the outside, then I sat and Kyle followed me and set next to the aisle. Last May I called my mom while we were on the ride and let her hear the whole thing bc it is her favorite. (I also want to add that my mom does NOT do thrill rides, but when we went on our Mother/Daughter trip in 99' she tried it, and's it!) This year we were so focused on Bonnie's reaction to it, that we didn't call anyone. We did call Kyle's sister and let her "ride" it with us later in the week. I honestly do not think Bonnie realized what was going to happen on this ride. For those of you NOT familiar with TOT you can tell when you are about to drop because you go from an air conditioned elevator shaft, to one that feels like you are outside. Just as we are hanging there about to fall I hear Bonnie say to my dad, "Oh it feels warm in here, like we are outside..." As we begin our sequence of drops I enjoy the first 3 or 4, and then I look over at my dad and Bonnie.Bonnie is looking straight forward with the most SHOCKED look on her face, and my dad is looking at her and laughing, and saying "Are you okay? Are you alright?" When the ride calmed I looked over at Bonnie and said, "So did you love it?" and she responded by saying, "I had NO idea THAT was going to happen." I think she liked it, but she never went on it again, and everytime my dad tried to get her on a ride again, she wanted to know EXACTLY what was going to happen. Poor Bonnie we are so mean....*evil laugh*

After that we decide to split up. My dad and Bonnie wanted to do some shopping and dad wanted to show her "The Great Movie Ride," which I missed this time! We decided that we would meet up again to see the Lights, Motor, Action Stunt Show.

Kyle and I walked around for a little while and we decided to see the Indiana Jones Stunt Show....which my Kyle 's. I love this show too, it's so entertaining and fun! It's always cute to see the little kids cover their ears, and eyes....I remember when I used to do that.

After Indiana Jones we headed over to Lights, Motors, Action...where we saw a MOB of people. We met up w/ dad and Bonnie and we were ushered inside. Then about 500-600 fastpass people went past us, and because we had never been inside the theater I thought we weren't going to get
in......silly me. There was a TON of room left even after all of those people went past us. I honestly don't think there is a bad seat in the house. We sat half way up on the right (if you are looking at the seats).

I got the camera out and took pictures of the stage.

Before I knew it the show was starting.....and it was a BLAST! We absolutly this attraction. It's not in the "Magical" category, but it's definatly awesome!

I got some of the cutest pictures of Kyle's face in reaction to the show. He 's cars so much!......I think these pics are cute, but then again I'm a little biased.
A VERY impressed face! hehe

After the show was over we decided to split up again and do a little shopping before dinner.

Here are some silly pics of us while we were shopping!

This was taken especially for a certain Stitch fan we have among us....There are plenty more where this came from!

I actually ran up to Stitch and said to Kyle, "Take my picture of me with this in case we don't see him later in the week, He's Melissa's favorite!!"...haha

As we strolled back towards Sunset Blvd. I spotted my first MUST HAVE purchase of the trip. My favorite Disney movie is Lady & the Tramp.....heck I have two Cocker Spaniels at home I love Lady so much. I saw a stuffed animal 'Lady AND Tramp.' I scooped them up w/ delite as Kyle rolled his eyes and patted me on the back asking, "Are you going
to be alright?" I must have been really excited!......it doesn't take much though. The lady at the register was giggling at me too because I was so happy. Kyle told the woman "I might as well just put her back on a plane home because I don't think anything will top this." The woman
started cracking up and I swatted Kyle's arm and looked at him with slanted eyes that said, "Yeah Right!" It was nearing the time for our, formerly named, 'Priority Seating' @ Hollywood & Vine, so we headed across the street dodging people waiting for the parade. Kyle snapped some silly pictures of me standing by the fountain waiting for dinner....I'm only showing one bc I don't like them. hehe

Up next: "I'm FREEZING" & Kyle's magnetic personality sticks to other
Fantasmic guests....
