Re: Mary Devall & Mommy\'s Magical Memories - Day 1 Part 1 Thanks so much for such a wonderful TR. I feel like I'm there with you. My DD (now 11-1/2) was about Mary Devall's age when we first took her. Seeing the magic in her face brings those special times rushing back. Can't wait for more! tenya

Re: Mary Devall & Mommy\'s Magical Memories - Day 1 Part 1 First of all that picture of the 2 of you on Small World was FANTASTIC!!! And I think that couple kept an eye on Mary D AFTER the tea cups ride to see if that Mickey bar came back up (OK gross sorry, but I couldn't resist). That she didn't get any chocolate on her shirt is a real feat. I know that neither of my 2 could do it. If it's chocolate, they're wearin' it. Can't wait for the next installment.

Re: Mary Devall & Mommy\'s Magical Memories - Day 2 Part 1 (Updated 5/25) Tuesday, May 10 Day 2, Part 1 For the first time ever, I had the infamous wake-up call with Stitch and Mickey! Now I feel complete! I quickly took a shower and got ready this morning before I woke Mary Devall. Thankfully, all it took was a few gentle reminders that we were going to have breakfast with the princesses this morning. I dressed her and we headed to the bus stop which is right out the front door of the villas!![]() Well, we waited and waited and waited. Buses for every other parked showed up, but 30 minutes later we were still waiting for an Epcot bus. Another family was also waiting to go to PSB, so the mom kept checking with the CM. Finally, the bus pulled up and after another stop at Fort Wilderness we were on our way. The other family was already late for their PS, but we had time to spare. For the first time ever, I was able to impart some of my park knowledge to someone. One of their little girls was asking her mom about seeing the Beast at Epcot. The mom said that she wouldn’t see him there, so I had to chime in and tell them to check out France. The mom told me that I had just made her day. I’m such a nerd! ![]() Once at Epcot, we found the PSB special entry and were quickly through that. The other family got stopped behind us when one of their tickets wouldn’t work, so Mary Devall and I started a leisurely stroll to Norway (and helped out a few families along the way who were looking for the PSB). The next thing I knew a golf cart came whizzing by us carrying the late family. The dad was sitting in the back and gave me a huge when I gave him the ![]() sign. We made it to Norway with a few minutes to spare and were seated right away (right next to the table where we sat in January). Mary Devall’s eyes immediately set sight on the caramel rolls and she announced that she was hungry. I gave her the gooiest one and took one for myself (the next to the gooiest ). She has taken after her mom in that she loves the icing on anything the best. Those rolls are just so ! Our server, Mia, came by to bring us juice and me (my daily cup or two of coffee is my one pregnancy sin ) . She then brought us that wonderful hot platter of food. I’m not a big egg or sausage eater, but I enjoyed everything else - - especially those potatoes. I had missed those potatoes! I also discovered that the butter was wonderful, so I enjoyed both of the biscuits with butter. I ate a few bites of bacon just to make sure that I had something that was not a carb . We had completely finished our meal by the time that the first princess arrived, so we were able to enjoy each and every visit without messy little hands. They were wonderful as usual and Mary Devall thoroughly enjoyed herself . . . although after she took the last picture with Snow White, she ran up to me in excitement and I thought she was going to tell me how happy she was to see Snow White. Instead I hear “Mommy, my panties are in my behind!” I couldn’t help but laugh. What a wacky little girl.![]() After we had our fill of caramel rolls and princesses, we headed towards The Living Seas. I was SO excited about Mary Devall seeing Turtle Talk. Well, we started walking into the exhibit and Mary Devall’s darkness radar immediately went up (why is it that you don’t notice that something is dimly lit until you have children). I could tell immediately that she had no interest in this and when I saw that we would have to wait for a while until the doors opened, I knew there was no way. Oh well, Crush would have to wait until next time. ![]() She still wanted a picture with the exhibit outside. We moved on to The Land where I thought she might enjoy the boat ride. The wait was probably not even 10 minutes, but when she noticed that the boats sailed into darkness I had some quick tap dancing to do. I assured her that it was just showing how the rain made the plants grow (they are forever learning about weather and plants in daycare so I thought that might strike a happy chord). She wasn’t totally sure if she believed me, but she decided to trust her mom. An older couple sat on the bench with her and kept looking over to see if she was enjoying herself yet. She was very brave throughout the dark scenes (once again, I swear I don’t remember this ride being that dark), but once we hit the bright light of the greenhouse, she was pointing out every plant to me and back to her chatty self. When we disembarked, she announced that she did like that ride. Next, we went to The Circle of Life movie which she enjoyed - - anything with The Lion King is fine by her. She had been in Journey into the Imagination about a year and a half ago and enjoyed it, but that was before her newfound obsession with darkness. She ended up at the end of the ride but she recovered quickly once we hit the sunshine. So . . . for now, Figment is not cool.So many of you have mentioned sending postcards from Innovations, so we headed off in that direction. We lucked out because when we strolled in Innovations East, the computers were right in front of us. We sent three postcards and all three were received! Mary Devall next wanted to look at the little house in the fire safety exhibit. She and another little girl were asked by a CM if they wanted to play a game. She took them into the house and dimmed the lights. Glowing red circles appeared on the floor and these indicated fire. She taught them how to stay low to the ground, find an exit and meet at the meeting place outside. She walked them through the first “game” where they both laid in the bed and followed her out the back door and to the meeting place at the front of the house. For the second “game” she told them that they were going to try by themselves. The other little girl went back to the same bed and Mary Devall chose to sit in a chair in the living room. Well, when the “fire” started, the other little girl took their original route out the back. My little one hops out of the chair, flies through the front door and is at the meeting place in seconds while the other little girl is still trying to make it out of the house. Everyone got a good laugh at that. I can see that she’s already thinking out of the box. Listening to directions Bunking up with a new friend Back at the meeting place in record time We played some more “games” but she did get frustrated when she couldn’t keep up with a game that was really too old for her. To divert her attention, I moved on to Innovations West where we found some games better suited to her age. This was my first time visiting Innovations, but I can tell that we will be back. ![]() We had essentially finished everything that I thought we might do at Epcot, so we strolled to the International Gateway and took the slow boat to MGM. Actually today, I was glad that it was slow because it gave us a nice rest. It was high noon and getting hot, so we both enjoyed getting off of our feet. And since we were on a boat, it was time for another photo shoot. Take this one, Mommy! And this one! How about this?
