| Re: TroianRae\'s Crazy Adventures in the World - UPDATED 7/23 My apologies everyone....I'm in the process of switching to a new computer and I've been very busy moving information from my old computer to my laptop (temporarily). Hopefully later on this week I can get more done on my trip report. IF I'm MIA for awhile you'll know I'm having difficulties getting re-connected. |

| Re: TroianRae\'s Crazy Adventures in the World - UPDATED 8/7 [b] Okay, where were we??? Oh that's right.......... Day Four: Monday, July 4th, Part 2 Okay, so I had just told Benji to chill out (short version) as we were walking towards Trail's End to meet Christie (christiejay). As we got closer and closer, Benji was still bugging out - no clue what was going through his head - but when we got close enough Christie hollered (okay, maybe said) my name, "Jana". There she was. I would have known her anyway (she had emailed me a picture of her, Jay, and Joshua before we left), but that Mississppi accent definitely would have clued me in if I hadn't known what she looked like. ![]() She introduced Jay (her DH), Joshua (DS), and Melanie (DSil) so I introduced Benji, Troian, and Nate. I think the only two people who were comfortable chatting with strangers were Christie and I, because WE felt weren't talking to strangers since we had struck up such a camraderie online. (Speaking of which, I miss you Christie; you've been MIA since you went dial-up!! ) So we were talking and talking - no problem - but we probably left the others out a bit. Anyhow, they were all sitting up on the porch in the rocking chairs while we were all standing down below and leaning on the railing. As noon approached more and more people came up on the porch, so we realized that we'd better get up to the podium. I had had Maureen make us a PS ( Maureen) so we weren't too worried, but Christie hadn't made one and we all wanted to sit table by table. I checked us in and then Christie checked in; for some reason, the servers made a little thing about us sitting by each other . Oh well, whatever!! Well, we tried to eat lunch - that's right, TRIED!! Troian had decided to enter the NON-cooperative stage right then and we barely got to eat anything. Christie's table on the other hand was peaceful and they were able to eat. To tell you the truth, I really wasn't that impressed with the service or the food at Trail's End, but I was able to meet up with Christie (and at the end of the day, that's what mattered about Trail's End!!) and we had fun talking. After lunch we arranged to still meet back at Pop Century about 2:30 pm; strangely enough we both stopped off at the Wilderness Lodge on our way back to MK. We met up in the WL lobby , and passed each other as they were exploring and I was shopping. I was on a MISSION: Mickey shaped straws, and I achieved that mission. 15 straws later I emerged from Roaring Forks and went to explore the gift shop. I found a WL pin at the pin cart and then we were on our way. We took the boat back to MK, and then the bus back to Pop. By this time it was already 2:30 pm and I knew that we had left WL before Christie so I went to our pre-arranged meeting place (60's laundry room), but somehow we ended up missing each other - TWICE!! ![]() I think we ended back in our room for a little while, but I know that we headed out to MGM a little before 5 because we entered the park a little after 5:30 during the parade. I just that parade; it's one of my 2 top favorites (Spectromagic being the other!!! ). So we watched the rest of the parade and then made our way through the throng of people. Now, remember, it's 4th of July which is why we had avoided Magic Kingdom, so we were planning on spending the evening in MGM, only to find out, that most of the shows and such were done at 6 pm so they could prep the area for the 9 pm fireworks. That discovered and cranky kids beginning, we ended up leaving MGM and going back to Pop where we had supper at the food court ( my DDE card!) and then went swimming in the 50's Bowling Pin Pool. We got back to our room and changed just in time to see MGM's and then Magic Kingdom's fireworks (I may have those in the wrong order - can't remember - sorry!) and I was able to get them on video. They were beautiful; I wish we could have seen Magic Kingdom's fireworks from the Polynesian beach, but I didn't want to fight the massive throngs of people that would be exiting MK after the fireworks that night. (Someday I hope to see the fireworks from the Poly.)Then we went back to the room, prepped our bags for the next day, and tried to go to sleep. We were all really wound up so I think we were all up for awhile - watching Disney channel and then the top 7 things. (BTW, those are the only 2 channels that the kids would let us watch while at POP - Benji just wanted Disney Channel and Troian just wanted the Top 7 - so they was A LOT of fighting over the tv remote.) Coming up: MGM Morning EMH and Crystal Palace |

[/ QUOTE ] [b] to our AWESOME travel agent, Maureen, we received ALL of our room requests. We asked for 50's, Bldg B or C, 3rd or 4th floor so as to see fireworks - and that's what we got. Any night that we were at POP during fireworks times, we always made sure we were on the balcony/walkway (not sure what to call it???) outside our room. We always had an awesome view of Epcot's Spaceship Earth & sign. ![]() |
