| Day 3 - Animal Kingdom So after a quick shower and change we head on out for dinner, we decide to sample the delights of Ponderosa (Really Pushing the boat out aren’t we!!!). After a wonderful meal, albeit a bit of a random combination of food, we head home for an early night, to get ready for our next adventure in the world. We get up again, nice and early, have some breakfast in the hotel and then jump in our lovely little convertible and head off to Animal Kingdom. We entered the park, and as soon as Rachel saw the tree of life, she got that little gleam in her eye again. We decided to do the Killimanjaro Safari first, as it was still early and we thought the animals will still be out and about. The safari was outstanding. Our tour guide was really animated and made us feel really welcome. After a bit a bumpy ride, with lots of lovely ‘locals’ snapped up, we moved on to do the Kahli River Rapids. I tried again not to do the Kamakazi approach, but I thought if we do the ‘big rides’ first, then we could wander around at our leisure and use the FP if there is something we want to do again. After a relatively little queue, we go on the Rapids lovely and dry and come off….lovely and dry. It was like something out of a comedy show – every person sat either side of us was drenched to the skin, but Rachel and I just walked off as if there hadn’t been a drop of water on the ride! After the rapids, we carried on around the tree, past the Tarzan Theatre and in to Dinoland USA. Our next ride was the Primeval Whirl. This was a little sad because as we approached the queue, one of the Golf Buggy Ambulances Arrived and Rushed in to the ride ahead of us, but we never saw them come out with anyone and no-one seemed to know what happened. Anyhow, we went on the left hand Primeval Whirl – Rachel loved it but I came off feeling a little green around the gills (I don’t do things that spin, I did SheiKra at Busch but can’t manage the tea cups). After a little drink break, we got FP for Dinosaur, and then went and had a little wander around the shops. Again, I am on nights at work, so more to follow later tonight…..watch this space. p.s - i will try to put some photo's on here over the weekend. |
