Re: 1st Timers to the World Christmas Trip - Lessons Learned Great trip report. You did skip two of my favorite restaurants though, breakfast at Kona Cafe - the Tonga Toast is to die for and I had the best French Vanilla Cappachino. And California Grill - the way you guys like to eat at good restaurants you should try this one next time. It was one of the best meals I had.

Re: 1st Timers to the World Christmas Trip - Lessons Learned Incredible trip report!! You sure managed to take it all in. Sorry to hear it was sooo cold during the later half of your trip. We had the same sort of weather in our early Dec 2003 WDW trip. It sure does cut down on the crowds! Your descriptions of Universal have definitely peaked my interest in going there someday when the kids get a little older. Once again, great job! ![]()

Re: 1st Timers to the World Christmas Trip - Lessons Learned Hey everyone, thanks for all the comments. Kris - We already have an ADR for California Grill on our upcoming September trip (45 minutes before Wishes starts). Hopefully, we will get a good seat. I think we will definitely keep this ADR since my mom and aunt will be going with us. This is definitely a top priority after all the great things we've heard/read about it. Kona cafe is also very high on our list, maybe for lunch though, since I've heard great things about it also. If we get up early enough one morning, it will definitely be on our breakfast list also. Aside from those, we also have an ADR for Jiko's, Liberty Tree Tavern (got to try a character meal), and Mama Melrose (Fantasmic Dinner Pkg - which was one of our favorites last time). Those will be the only ADRs I make, but we are definitely going to try some other places (most likely for lunch), such as Chefs de France, Kona, and maybe Spoodles.

Re: 1st Timers to the World Christmas Trip - Lessons Learned Karen - We really liked the food at Hoop De Doo - enough so that we want to go to Trail's End just for the fried chicken (it's supposed to all come from the same kitchen). Although, the show was a little silly, we still had fun there and I would recommend it to anyone who hasn't been especially if you have kids. Jeff - You really must get to Universal. Of course, it would be better once your kids are older, but I think there is still plenty to do there for kids to make a day or two of it. If nothing else, there are a lot of characters there that they won't see at Disney.

Re: 1st Timers to the World Christmas Trip - Lessons Learned Thanks so much for sharing your trip with us, I really enjoyed it!! You were right on with your timing - just like you said, we are right in the middle of planning our Dec. trip, so your pictures and report are great for anticipation! Since you guys like nice restaurants I think you'll really like California Grill and Jiko's. Have fun! ![]()
