| Sarah\'s Special September Surprise! Added 9/18 A Magical Arrival Pretrip Report time!! ** and aptly timed - as I sit at the computer writing this - Sarah is sitting on the couch watching "Full House" reruns. They are in Disney World, and Sarah is LOVING it. They just got to the end of the first show, and Sarah was bummed - but they are running the second episode right now! She and I were talking about when we could go back - we haven't been back for almost 2 years. She's even offered up her $20 she's saved up over the summer! Okay - here's the pretrip report! Characters involved! Me - Marie - the Mom, in the words of my daughters "Obsessed" with Disney! Special Education Teacher for Emotionally Handicapped Students Grades 1-5. DH - John - the Dad - loves WDW, but loves his family more! Works as an engineer in a power plant for money, Fire Chief, EMT-I, Part time Police Officer, and Fire/EMS Instructor for the fun of it. DD1 - Amanda - Age 16 1/2 - Major music fanatic, extremely bright HS junior, not big on Disney, but willing to go along for one more family vacation! DD2 - Jennie - Age 15 - Another big musician, Eeyore fan, very happy to be going back for a long weekend. She hates to fly, but is willing to put up with it for a Disney vacation. DD3 - the reason for the trip! - Sarah - aged 8 - turning 9 on Saturday, September 3rd. Major girly girl, too cool for the Cinderella thing, but if Jasmine is around - she's back into the magic! It's tough to be the youngest - she wants to be cool like her big sisters, but she's still a true believer in the Magic! Dates: Thursday, September 1 - Monday September 5 Staying at the Contemporary Resort (aka the zipper) Travel Arrangements - Flying out late Thursday evening via Southwest Airlines out of Manchester, NH, arriving at MCO at 11:20 pm. Rental Car - National Emerald Aisle for 4 days. Leaving Monday am at 11:50, arriving in Manchester at 2:40 pm. We talked about using DME, but figured with such a late arrival, and traveling on a Monday holiday (Labor Day), we didn't want to have to leave for the airport more than 3 hours ahead of our flight - we'd rather relax around the resort for a little bit that morning, then return to the airport at our leisure! We'll also use the rental car for some travel around the World, as the Contemporary's transportation to MGM and Downtown Disney isn't always the best! Occasion!! - Sarah's 9th Birthday, and taking advantage of Disney's Free Dining package, and Southwest's DIRT cheap fares to Orlando! I'll post soon with the story, as well as our extremely TENTATIVE itinerary. |

Having recently pulled off a little surprise of my own for my DS, I can personally attest to how much fun it is to watch the expression on their face when they first find out what's going on.
