| Re: My Anniversary/ See Donna again, meet Cindy trip! Pretrip report part 1 SO! What do you want to do?!?!? Well, since Muffin was the one who didn't want to make any plans, I gave the ball to him! He said he wanted to go to Epcot, so we got in the car and off we went! He hadn't been on Soarin' yet. So we headed directly over to The Land. We also realized how hungry we were so we got a fastpass for Soarin' and went to find something to eat. We checked out the Garden Grill first. The menu looked delicious, but far more than we wanted for lunch. So we went downstairs to the Sunshine Seasons food fair. I haven't eaten here since it's been remodeled and we were both impressed. Muffin got a beef and mashed potato plate and a glass of Rose. I got some sushi and a TsingTao. It was all delicious! ![]() When we finished lunch, it still wasn't time for Soarin' and there was no line at the boat ride. So we hopped on that and got to see Mickey Pumpkins and giant peppers and squash. Our guide was very boring and monotone but it was still a fun boat ride. Then we went over and Soared over California! I absolutely love this attraction and so does Muffin. It's just an uplifting feeling and the scenes you soar over are gorgeous! ![]() Next we headed over to Ellen's Energy Adventure and then to see Figment. We stopped at the fountain for a while and just watched it and then we headed over to the other side of Future World and did Test Track and Mission:Space. About this time, the sky just opened up and it started pouring! We stopped into Mouse Gear and bought some ponchos and headed over to World Showcase. We took the boat ride in Mexico and browsed through the Pavillion and then headed over to Norway to see the trolls. We wound up eating dinner at Marrakesh and for the first time ever, I have to say, I really didn't like the food. I don't know if I just wasn't in the mood for it or it was yucky, but I couldn't eat it. I ordered beef shish kabob, which I have had before. Anyway, Muffin ordered the chicken shish kabob and said it was just fine. When the waiter came over to see why I hadn't eaten, I told him that I just wasn't that hungry. He wa nice enough to take my order off the bill and I told him he really didn't have to do that.We did a little browsing through the streets of Morocco and then it really started pouring again. We headed back toward Japan and stopped in the store there and realized that the rain was not going to stop, so we thought we'd go back and check out the concierge lounge at AKL. One the way out of Epcot, we stopped in a special exhibit in China to see the plans for Disneyland Hong Kong. It really looks like a pretty but very small park. It was interesting to see the plans though and it does look pretty similar to the MK, just not as many lands. We headed back to AKL and went upstairs for a snack and a nightcap and just chatted. Muffin had a glass of African wine and I had Amarula liquer, which was heavenly! We also had some desserts from Boma and it was so pleasant to end our first day in a quiet, relaxing manner. ![]() A few pictures: These guys were everywhere!! Tomorrow: Where are the animals and a little bit of magic! |
