Re: The Freeman Not So Scary October Trip - Updated Day 3 Part 1

Day 3 – The One With the Germs

Andy and I were both wide awake by 6.30am. I woke up feeling a little weird – my head felt fuzzy and my throat was a little sore. I shrugged it off and we got up and prepared for a morning at Epcot. We made the rope drop and followed a CM to Soarin’, as we both could'nt wait to ride it. Already there was a 20 minute wait. Andy was starving so we grabbed a Fastpass and stopped at Sunshine Seasons Fair for breakfast. There was nobody else there at all. I had a bagel with cream cheese and Andy had a blueberry muffin and a croissant with butter. We shared a diet coke – total $9.01. And very nice it was too We finished up and noticed Living With the Land was a walk on. We climbed aboard our boat and took a tour of the green houses etc. I loved seeing the Mickey head shaped pumpkins and cucumbers. I really enjoy this ride, I think it's very relaxing and very interesting.

By the time our ride was over, it was time for our fastpass for Soarin’

Wow, how long is the queuing area? I love the screens with scenery, they're beautiful. Andy took some photos and now has one as his desktop picture.

We walked to where it splits into Concourse A & B and joined the queue down the ramp for Concourse A. We then queued for about 10 minutes before getting on the first one, row 2. I was quite nervous as I stood there, as I had no idea what to expect. We were let in and I got even more nervous. Andy helped me on with my belt as I was shaking and I was amazed by how long the belt was. I clung onto the side rails for dear life as it darkened and we moveed up. Andy was great, telling me I had nothing to be nervous about - he told me if I got nervous or started to feel icky to just look to my side and I’d be able to see the wall and I'd realise we weren't moving that much. Once the ride started I hung on but after a minute or so I let go and relaxed. We both truly loved this ride, it’s really awesome I loved the Disneyland bit. Oh and smelling the orange groves mmm! I felt a little woozy when we got off but it only lasted a minute. It was so worth it and this became one of our favourite rides

From Soarin’ we moved pavilions to the Imagination Institute – it was finally time for me to visit my favourite dragon Figment Journey Into Your Imagination was a walk on and including us, there were only 6 of us in the cars. As usual, I enjoyed my ride with Figment – and I was prepared for the skunk smell! We played in the Kodak labs and sent emails to everyone.

Our next stop was Honey I Shrunk the Audience, which neither of us had seen before. We queued for about 15-20 minutes before being let into the pre-show area. Now, I’m going to vent here. They have a cheek calling it a pre-show when all it does is promote Kodak! 15 minutes this lasted, it was a total waste of time and we were very fed up. My foot was playing up badly and I was in need of a sit down but no, I had to stand there and take a preaching from Kodak! Never again will I sit through that I did enjoy Honey I Shrunk the Audience, it was good fun but if we had to go through the pre-show again then we wouldn’t bother with it. At least we can say we’ve done it The dog sneeze at the end made me laugh.

coming up in Part 2: I spy with my little eye...is that a purple dragon?

Re: The Freeman Not So Scary October Trip - Updated Day 3 Part 2

Part 2: I spy with my little eye...is that a purple dragon?

Outside the Honey I Shrunk the Audience entrance, we started to head back towards Journey Into Your Imagination - and we stumbled across Figment’s Place. Neither of us had seen this before so we ventured inside. We didn't expect him to be there, but just inside, who do I spot? Yes, it's Figment And he was all by himself I got a lovely big hug and scrambled into my bag for my camera. One problem – I’d forgotten my camera I look to the CM beside Figment and she didn’t have one either Surely this would be an ideal spot for a photopass photographer? I told Figment that I’d forgotten my camera and he lowered his head as if he was sad, but I promised to return for a photo. He gave me a thumbs-up, followed by another hug I was smiling for a long while afterwards - a meeting with your favourite purple dragon have that effect

We walked towards Mission Space so Andy could find out how long the wait was. I bought a soda and waited under a parasol while Andy went to investigate. There were huge queues nearby but it turned out the queues were people waiting for photos with Space Mickey and Space Goofy. There was only a 10 minute wait for Mission Space posted so Andy went on after reporting back to me. I told him if I wasn’t still sat on the bench, he’d find me in Mouse Gear. I finished my drink and wandered off to my favourite shop to be nosey. Andy met me about 20 minutes later raving about his trip to Mars. He really adores this ride. I left Mouse Gear empty handed – something not quite right there

Andy went for a cigarette while I nosed round the pin station. I bought a gorgeous Figment pin from the Happiest Pin Celebration, as well as the latest Disneyana Pin Trading book by Tomart.

We decided we’d had enough by this point so after a pit stop in the Art of Disney, we headed for the exit. Unfortunately the queues were huge for Spaceship Earth so we carried on walking. As we approached the bus stops, we were passed by a Pop Century bus. We began to run for the bus. The bus stopped, let on one person and left just as we arrived at the top of our stop The driver obviously wasn’t looking in his mirror – either that or he didn't care. We sat down, me totally out of breath, and waited, cursing the driver of the bus. 10 minutes later, another bus arrived so it wasn't too bad. We sat there for over 5 minutes to see if anyone else was going to join us – which is what the other driver should’ve done.

Back at Pop Century, we headed straight to the Food Court for lunch. Andy had the meatball sub and I had chicken penne alfredo, which was delicious It wasn’t until we were half way through our meal that we realised we’d never used the Disney Dining Experience Card when we’d paid for lunch. The word “doh!” sprung to mind here I can assure you that we never made that mistake again Lunch devoured, we decided we needed dessert. Andy opted for his favourite tie-dyed cheesecake and I had my favourite carrot cake. We used the DDE card this time

It was then back to our room and we both fell asleep until gone 5pm - I guess we really needed it. Only problem was we were due to meet a friend I’d been talking to online for the last 3 years and her husband at MGM Studios at 5pm. For some reason, the alarm on my mobile never went off. I woke up feeling really rough - my fuzzy head was still present and I had a sore throat and a runny nose. I texted my friend and apologised and they were kind enough to wait for us. We got to MGM about 5.30, picked them up from the entrance and we were off to Chilis. I wasn’t the only one feeling rough, both my friend Sarah and her husband had been suffering with colds and coughs. I have no idea where I’d picked mine up. Andy suggested maybe I’d picked up some germs from someone on our flight.

We had an excellent meal – Andy and I shared the boneless shanghai wings and fried cheese and I had my bleu cheese and bacon burger. Andy had the smoked turkey sandwich. It came to $40 including a large tip for our server as she was fantastic. She was very attentive and kept us topped up the whole time. After dinner, we dropped them off at their hotel on the 192 and headed back to Pop Century via Sherberth Road. This is a great cut through from that side of the 192 and the US27 onto Disney property. It was the first time we’d used this and certainly not the last.

We headed straight to the food court where Andy had a few Coors Light and I had a strawberry daiquiri and some refills. We called it a night around 10pm, me feeling even worse with a stuffed up nose and fuzzy head. Night night!

Coming up: Day 4 - A Jolly Breakfast with Mary Poppins and friends
