Over 50 trip - Sept 2005 - Segway Adventure

Just wanted to thank everyone who gave me some insight on if my husband would enjoy the Segway as part of his 60th birthday celebration. It was great.. The class includes a full hour of instruction before you are sent out into the Epcot World, like little ducks. Well worth the $ and time if you would like a little different adventure.

I also want to let everyone know how great it was to use the Disney Magical Express. Checked the bags in at the airport and the next time I saw them it was in the hotel room. I had brought with me as carry on my bathing suit, shorts, etc. just in case the bags were delayed.
We had a late flight out and I had the hotel pick up the bags from our room, store them and they brought them out to the bus for the return to the airport. (We did not use one the airlines that Disney has precheckin for return- but it was not a busy time and there were no lines for checkin directly with our carrier.)
I would think at the busy times of year - this could be a real advantage to use one the Disney Magical Express airlines.

For people interested in the Pop Century, it was our first visit. I was surprised at all the special items at this "value" resort. The refillable mugs are great. The staff was on the ball with helpful hints about transportation, timing and our room.

By the way, if you want quiet, don't ask for a room facing the pool areas. Disney allows guest to use the pool until midnight.

I was surprised at our 50's pool to have a locker room with showers plus a full laundry.

We were part of the Disney Special Dining Plan. The portions are big at Disney and often shared a meal. We had a special birthday dinner at the Yachtsman Steakhouse. Top of the line meal and service, with cake and candle.

Thanks to Passporter's posters for the helpful hints, we even got the Birthday buttons from Guest Relations.

Sounds like you had a wonderful trip! That's great! I'm really relieved to hear your take on DME. It's the one part of my trip I'm a little worried about!
