I HAD BIG PLANS AND I DID NOT CARE THAT IT WAS EARLY!!! I tip-toed around the room getting ready but, honestly, in a tiny room, you can only be quiet for so long before you wake everyone else up. [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/smirk.gif[/img] By about 7:45, everyone was up and moving, so we got ourselves together and checked out of the stinky room . . . [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/roflmao.gif[/img] We were all three pretty hungry (well, at least 2 of us were . . . Emilie usually just says she is, but never eats [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif[/img] ) so we stopped by Burger King, which was just on the other side of Old Town (which was right next door to the Days Inn ---- are you guys directionally challenged yet? [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/roflmao.gif[/img] ) Mike had some sort of breakfast sandwich and I had French toast sticks and hash browns . . . we ended up splitting Emilie’s French toast sticks, since she was a little too excited to eat (this would become a trend throughout the week [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/tongue.gif[/img]) Once we had eaten, we headed up 192 to Target (mostly since I couldn’t remember where the closest Wal-Mart was . . . but I like Target better anyway! [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img] ) We picked up a toothbrush, some toothpaste and a new swimsuit for Emilie, a toothbrush for Mike and . . . yes . . . some new sneakers for me. [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/smirk.gif[/img] Did I happen to mention how much like a dumba$$ I felt? [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/smirk.gif[/img] We drove back down 192 towards D-property . . .   Is it just me, or does this seem WEIRD? I don’t think “cosmetic surgery” and “restaurant” belong together . . . [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/crazy.gif[/img]  Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo-Hooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!! So, my toes were covered and I was happy, so “Let’s go check in!” And off to Pop Century we went!!!   This was our first time staying at Pop . . . and it won't be our last!!! We've previously stayed at the All Stars and, while we liked them, I think we all liked Pop even more! Mike and Emilie went and sat in front of the TV in the lobby (Heaven forbid they go without TV for more than a couple of hours! [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img] ) and I went ahead to check-in! My receipt says I checked in at 11:05 and thankfully, they had a room available for us right then!!! We were put in room 7108 in building 7 (which was the 80’s section) . . . me being the child of the 80's that I am, it suited me just fine! (I might have been born in the 70's, but I grew up in the 80's . . . and yes, I had leg warmers ---- well, then I did . . . not this trip! I left them at home with my shoes . . . [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/roflmao.gif[/img]) I especially liked coming out of our room in the mornings and hearing some cool song from the 80's playing in the courtyard!!! Mike just kind of looked like this . . . [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif[/img] </font>  This is a cruddy pic of the room, but it is the ONLY one I took! [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/tongue.gif[/img] <font color="darkblue">. . . we were on the first floor, but it was VERY quiet! We know that we had people upstairs from us, but we never once heard them up there . . . it was NICE! [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif[/img] As soon as we got all of our earthly belongings inside the room, I dug through and found my Mousefest sign I had printed up and stuck it in the window . . . [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img] I took things out of my purse and put “park touring essentials” back in (read: autograph book, pens, camera, etc.), we all grabbed our sweatshirts and off we went, taking photos as we went . . .       We were standing in the line for the bus to the Studios (aka MGM) when an arm appeared on my shoulder and a voice said “Well, hello Miss Emilie!” It was Bill (LizardCop)!!! [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/zwavin.gif[/img] We talked for a few minutes then he headed over to Jan who was waiting in line for the Epcot bus. They were spending the afternoon at Epcot then coming over to MGM for the Osborne Lights meet later . . . we decided that this would be MGM day for us (we usually only take a half to three-quarter day there anyway). It was weird, since usually our first park is MK, but it is always nice to try something different! Our bus came just a few seconds after Bill left us and we were on our way!!! As soon as we were off of the bus, we headed to Guest Relations and traded in our vouchers for our renewed seasonal passes. That done, we headed on in the park . . . and when I looked at my watch I noticed that it was only 11:45!!! We had checked in, unpacked, gotten on a bus and were in a park all within 40 minutes! [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/eek.gif[/img]   There really wasn’t a whole lot of people in the park, so we first made a quick potty stop then headed straight to Tower of Terror to check the wait time for Mike to ride it . . .  . . . it said 20 minutes, so he went ahead and got in line while Emilie and I headed to the exit and poked around in the shop for a while. After about 15 minutes, I looked up at the monitors where they show the on-ride photos and there was Mike! Then I turned around and there he was . . . he didn’t want to buy the picture, so I took a (bad) picture of it . . . [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/roflmao.gif[/img]  That’s Mike in the yellow shirt . . . front row, third from the right . . . with his arms in the air . . . Of course, you have to follow up a ride on ToT with one on Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, so we headed over there . . . and Mike was walking out within less than 10 minutes! He said it was literally a walk-on . . . which we’ve NEVER seen!!!  </font>TO BE CONTINUED!!!!  |
