Re: The \"How much stuff can we cram into my Trailblazer?\" Day 2 is UP!

November 20-Day Two-Magic Kingdom

We had a 7AM Mickey wake up call. Yeah, I woke up at 6. I got dressed and walked around the French Quarter a bit. I just missed a pic of a fish jumping. Oh well.

I have to say, The French Quarter is great. It’s really quiet but the size of it is perfect. After seeing people try and get on the bus stops at Riverside, no way will I ever stay there. Anyways, we got to the Magic Kingdom at 8:30 and enjoyed the opening scene as usual. I followed a certain tour guide’s idea and I have to say, he’s right. We headed straight for Dumbo…which was temporarily closed. So when Disney bums you out, magic is usually just around the corner. I decided to take the girls to Tink’s Treasures. I didn’t tell the girls why we were going. As soon as we got in there, the lady asked Allie would she like to wake up Tink. Yes!! Allie was very happy. (Lindsay said she wanted to look at clothes. She is SO my wife’s kid. Haha) Allie got her “Magical Moment Certificate” and she was so proud of her special moment!
After Tink we headed directly for Pooh. Both kids enjoyed it immensely. We then hit Snow White’s Scary Adventures, Peter Pan’s Flight (our family’s personal favorite), and It’s A Small World. It was the first trip on Small World for both kids.and they seemed to enjoy it.

It was now around 10am so we headed for the rope drop to Mickey’s Toon Town. Tigger, Pooh, and Eeyore opened the park. We weren’t going to the tent’s just yet. We went straight to Goofy’s Barnstormer. This was Lindsay’s 1st roller coast. She loved it! In fact, while Allie went to play at the adjacent playground, Lindsay and I rode it again. After I told her I was scared (joking of course!), she said “It’s OK, Dada, I protect you!”
Next, we jumped on the train and rode it over to Adventureland. On the train, I experience the only negative of the day. A couple of punk young teenagers trying to be cool and failing miserably. Joking that they wished they had a sniper rifle. Joking about how they hate tourists. Then I heard the F word twice. I turned around and said “If you say that word again in front of my children one more time…” I didn’t even have to finish the line. They shut up for the rest of the ride! While my wife grabbed fast passes for Splash Mountain, Allie and I rode the Mountain Roller Coaster. Allie enjoyed it. As we left the ride, she told a cast member “I think I lost my stomach on that ride!” Haha, the girl said she’d be sure to go look for it. While waiting for our Splash Mountain fastpass to mature, we headed over to ride Pirates of the Caribbean. Lindsay complained that it was too dark but she was OK once we got on the boat. Both girls seemed to enjoy dressing up like pirates even more than the ride. Oh well, it’s still enjoyable to me! We grabbed lunch at Pirate y Perico and I thought the tacos weren’t bad at all. We are using the dining plan and we got Haagan Daz chocolate and almond ice cream bars for our dessert. My wife is allergic to almonds so they let her trade it for chips and salsa. I’m glad they were cool about it.
Next, we headed back to ride Splash Mountain. We had to do a kid swap since Lindsay isn’t tall enough. While Mom and Allie rode it, Lindsay and I booked it over to Fantasyland and got fastpasses to Philharmagic. When we got back, Allie rode Splash Mountain with me. Now it was time to get the heck out of Frontierland and Adventureland. It was getting a bit crowded.
I forgot to mention earlier that it was pretty overcast today and it began to rain at some point. We went to Philharmagic and enjoy it everytime. Lindsay even kept her 3D glasses on the entire time; a first! We were heading to Belle’s Storytime next but I sent the girls ahead of me after I saw something that interested me. While the girls were gone, I bought the Cinderella’s Castle playset in the Philharmagic store. Heck Pal Mickey costs that much! I bought it and sent it back to the resort. I searched for my wife a really nice necklace but I decided to hold off. Belle’s Storytime was fun and the girls loved getting to meet Belle and get pictures. Allie decided to get one of Belle’s assistants to sign her autograph book too. The lady seemed to really like that she asked.
We wanted to see Cinderellabration but the show was cancelled due to rain. Of course, they waited till the show was supposed to start to cancel it. Oh well. Not the end of the world. We have 8 more days! We moved toward Liberty Square and the rain started to come down as the parade started. We didn’t have a good place to stand so we went to Hall of Presidents. Boy, that put the kids to sleep quickly.

We deviated from my scheduled plans a bit since we accomplished so much this morning. We headed to get a fastpass to Buzz Lightyear and decided to eat a 2nd lunch. What are we, Hobbits? So we hung out at Cosmic Ray’s. Lindsay asked who the alien was. Allie explained that he was there to make kids laugh but that she wasn’t laughing. LOL that was the best description I have ever heard. We next went to Carousel of Progress. Surprisingly, both girls enjoyed it. Lindsay cracked my wife and I up when she leaned over and said “After the show, I’m going to be tired”.haha
Buzz Lightyear was next and fastpass caused us our longest wait of the day. MAYBE 10 minutes and that was due to two people getting off of those ECVs. What a great day. We NEVER waited in line even with a crowded park. I exacted my revenge on Allie by scoring 128,000 points. Not great but I’ll take my victory!
At this point we had accomplished everyting we had planned too at the moment So anything else was a bonus. We headed to Ariel’s Grotto. What a babe/fish! Ariel gave Lindsay a kiss on the cheek and the lipstick was so cute that my wife took a pic of it on Lindsay’s cheek. We finally rode the Carousel after this and then we squeezed in a 2nd ride on Snow White just for old time’s sake. Unfortunately, our dinner reservations at Liberty Tree Tavern weren’t until 8:40, so we had to keep the kids awake a little too late to eat. That was the reason for 2 lunches. They were getting a little cranky but it was too be expected. We browsed a few shops including the Christmas store but then we decided to walk back down Main Street to see if any characters were still out. They weren’t, even though the time said they’d be there to 8. No worries. The wife distracted the girls while I bought Allie a watch for Christmas, Tink style! We headed back to Fantasyland and went on Philharmagic. Allie and Lindsay were revived and really enjoyed this showing. They were giggling and reaching for jewels. It was very cute. After about 20 minutes of browsing, we headed to Liberty Tree Tavern. Our reservations were on time; shocking! In fact, they were a few minutes early. The food was pretty good. Goofy, Pluto, Minnie, Chip and Dale were around and great! We were a late reservation and people were heading out to see the Spectromagic parade (it was delayed though unbeknownst at the time). The restaurant began to empty and I think Goofy, Minnie, Pluto, and the Chipmunks came by our table at least 5 times each. The kids were pretty cranky before we ate but they were in a great mood now. The parade was delayed since it began to rain again and as we finally left dinner, we got to see most of the parade. We would have stayed for the fireworks, but the kids were crashing again so we left. Lindsay was asleep before we passed the Crystal Palace but Allie stayed awake. When we got to the bus stop we decided to wait for a 2nd bus so we could sit down. This paid off since we got to see most of Wishes from the bus stop.
This was truly an awesome day. We never waited more than 10 minutes for anything. It might have been 5 minutes. I have no idea how people go to a park without a plan. They don’t need as detailed a plan as ours but how people wait in lines for so long for some rides is beyond me. We didn’t even feel that bad at the night’s end. Well, it’s almost midnight now, and I have another day at MGM tomorrow!

Sounds like a great day at the Magic Kingdom! I agree with you on having a plan. We never stand in those long lines and always get to do everything we want to during our trip.
