| Re: Nala and pride \"Here we go again!\" Our final day Part 1 As with every morning on this trip, Saturday came early, thanks to Kiara. But this morning was the most special one. I had saved the best for last. This was the day that we would have lunch with Cinderella. This was the day that Kiara would dress up in all her finery and present herself to the “world’ as the princess she was. This was also the day that unless there was another princess of notable fame in the frame, Kiara would refuse to pose for a picture, But I was blissfully unaware of that fact as we readied ourselves for our visit with the princess of all Disney princesses, Since we were unable to locate a tiara to match her Belle “Holiday” dress, Kiara surprised me and was willing to allow me to do her hair for the occasion. Being the hair challenged individual I am, I somehow managed to fashion Kiara’s hair to match that of the Belle doll in the holiday dress that Grumpy had spotted earlier in the week. And since this was such a special occasion, Kiara actually allowed me to touch her hair and do something other than brush it (which is a fight on any normal day). Washed, combed and dressed to the hilt, she was ready to show the world what a princess she was. We left the room and headed to the elevator and I found myself a tad bit weepy as I watched her walking down the hall and holding up her dress (which was a bit too long for her) like a true princess. Had I know that she would have developed an aversion to having her picture taken as the day went on, I would have been snapping away. We made our way to the dock and waited for a boat to the MK. And it was here and only here that Kiara allowed me to take her picture.  Unfortunately, the bright morning sun prevented her from looking at me and opening her eyes. The boat arrived, we made the short trip to the MK and the quest for meeting fellow princesses began. Once inside the gates of the MK, there was one thing I knew we had to do. Before we rode the Magic Carpets or Cinderella’s Golden Carrousel, there was a princess to meet that I knew would not be found in the castle. Ariel. So straight to her grotto we went. The line was a bit long (but isn’t it always?) but Kiara and I braved it for the rare opportunity to meet one of Disney’s most captivating princesses. Our turn came and as I took pictures of the two of them together I remember thinking that had I known anything about my child before she had been born, I would have named her Ariel.  After our meet and greet with Ariel, we decided to kill time in Fantasyland until it was time for our ADR at CRT. And no trip to Fantasyland would be complete without a ride on Cinderella’s Golden Carousel.  While part of me longs for Kiara to branch out and want to ride more adventurous things like the HM or POTC, there is another part of me that hopes she will always cherish the joy of such a simple ride. I have a feeling that no matter how old she is, the carrousel will always be her favorite. After a few rides on the carrousel, we decided to browse around Fantasyland to kill some time before our ADR at CRT. We explored a few shops, walked down some unbeaten paths and just enjoyed the sites around us. We stumbled across the wishing well outside the castle and I since I had nothing but time, I took a good look at it. I was thrilled to find a few little characters carved in its base. And among them was none other than my second favorite mouse, Gus Gus.  In all my trips to WDW over the years, and all my visits to the MK and all the times I have walked down that path, I never noticed that Gus was there. It just goes to show you that no matter how many times you go to WDW, there is always some little detail that you overlook. And it is those little details that make me want to come back again and again. That and the smile everything about WDW puts on Kiara‘s face.    Last edited by Nala; 01-06-2008 at 02:48 PM. |
