Re: The Quick & Crazy Weekend Trip (Day three up 2/9)
Day Four
It was a little sad to wake up this morning knowing I had to pack and leave today.
Last night we decided we wanted to attempt EE again so we cancelled our ADR for breakfast with Stitch and switched it to Breakfastasaurus instead. DH convinced me that it was ok because we are staying at the Poly in December so I will definitely be able to have breakfast with my favorite blue guy then.
We gave our luggage to luggage services (isn’t it funny that we only came with two bags and left with four? ) and jumped on the bus to AK. It was pretty busy (it was the day before too) but today was early entry day so we expected it. We headed off to EE and were able to walk right on. Then we got right on again! We enjoyed it immensely. We were over a half hour early for our ADR for breakfast but figured we’d give it a try. When we got there it was PACKED! We put in our names and settled in for the long wait. Did I say long wait? We barely sat down when they called us back. Our server was Neil and he was hysterical. He did the ketchup gag and the camera gag and had us all laughing. He took pictures for us with the characters. It was fun. The only weird part was that DH wasn’t eating much, he’s a huge breakfast eater and loves buffets but he didn’t eat much at all. He was coming down with a cold (sore throat and stuffy head). He’s really feeling the effects now that we are home. Poor guy. After breakfast we decided to go one more round on EE. Three times in one day! Now that is fun.
We decided to escape the mass crowds at AK and head to Epcot for a little Soarin. When we got to Epcot we lost all of our steam. We were exhausted. The crazy busy weekend was catching up with us. A full day at MK on Saturday, three parks on Sunday and we were dead tired. We got a fastpass for Soarin (60 minute wait) and rode Figment then we tried to check otr Crush but the line was way too long for us tired folks. We visited Ice Station Cool (I’m not changing to the new name) and then received a call from our honeymooning friends from yesterday. They too were in Epcot so we took a walk over to China to meet them. Did I say China? When Jenne called she said she was in Japan…no China, sorry she said…she was in China. Well we got to China and there was no sign of them. So we walked to Japan. Just kidding…we were way to lazy for that at this point. We found a bench and waited for them to catch up to us! We visited with them for a while until it was about time for our fastpass.
On our way back to future world DH decided he was hungry (no duh you didn’t eat breakfast) and wanted a churro (thanks to our friend Travis that said he wanted one). Let’s see if we can all remember rule #145 for visiting WDW. Never, I repeat, NEVER, walk in the open with food in your hand. Got it? Good. DH was just strolling along with that huge churro just hanging from his hand and SWOOSH. Down came the bird and just ripped it out of his hand. Ok, it was just a piece of it, but it scared the you know what out of us. Then of course they were dive-bombing for more. I told DH that if he didn’t get rid of it, I was outta there! Not fun. But funny.
We walked right on to Soarin and then decided to ride Spaceship Earth and head back to the hotel as DME was picking us up at 5:45 and I still wanted pictures from the hotel. SE was closed. They were having technical difficulties and weren’t sure when it would be back up. We couldn’t walk anymore. We decided to sit within viewing distance incase it opened and just relaxed in the warm sun. It didn’t open again before we had to head out.
Back at the hotel we sat around outside watching the kids in the pool (at least it was warm enough to swim today – if you were from Iceland maybe) and took pictures. The DME bus came right at 5:45. I was all happy because the bus was a cruise line bus. Our next trip is a land/sea package so that made me happy to think that it was a sign that it’s ok that this trip is over because the next one will be extra special!
The airport was boring as usual, the flight home was uneventful and the hour ride home at midnight was just so much fun. When we left FL it was 75 degrees, when we got home it was 27 degrees. I miss it already.
Though this trip was crazy busy and non-stop (we usually take nap/swim breaks during the day) it was worth every penny. Just to ride Everest was worth it. We had a lot of fun and getting to spend it with friends just made it all the better. That’s it for another 301 days. Maybe now I’ll get some homework done!
