| Re: The Double Celebration Trip April/May 2006 - Updated! Not long now I can't believe how quickly this trip is coming round. I am so ready to go One of the solicitors in my office is at Walt Disney World at the moment - well, actually he's leaving today, so I'll get to hear all about it on Monday. I've actually been a little jealous this week, fancy that DH keeps telling me that he only went for a week so I shouldn't be too jealous. It's nice to work in an office where somebody shares my love of Florida and Walt Disney World We're pretty much organised now. Our suitcases are packed - we only have a few items to add to them. Mum hasn't even started yet and has been asking for advice. We had dinner with Mum and Jez last weekend and we got to see our plane tickets - really snazzy too, they came in what looks like a check book complete with luggage tags. Our rental voucher has arrived also and we've hired an 8 seater van I can't help wondering if it's going to be a little on the big side for 4 people - even with a fair bit of luggage Andy made our final phonecalls on Thursday - he made an ADR for San Angel Inn for 10th May at 7pm, just the two of us. And he bought me the most beautiful dress to wear, it makes me feel like a princess. I might feel a bit of a dork walking round Epcot in it but hey He also phoned Victoria & Albert's to enquire about us paying for the meal. It's all set up, no problem. We're paying for everything - the meal, the wine pairings if they decide to have them, the tax and the tip. They've also arranged for a card to be on their table from us which I thought was lovely. It had already been noted on the ADR that there was a 1st wedding anniversary being celebrated. Last weekend, we were trying to figure out how we're going to get to the airport. We're staying the night at Mum and Jez's because they are a lot closer to the airport than us. Originally we were going to get a taxi from their house but we discovered it would cost us £35 We were going to go down that route, until my brother suggested we drive to his house, as he is a mere 10 minutes from the airport. Andy and I will leave our car on Mum and Jez's drive and we'll all go in Jez's car to Crawley (Jez has a big estate for all our luggage ) and Jez's car will be left on my brother's drive - are you still following me It will only cost us £7.50 to take a taxi to the airport from there, which is much better. We're not sure if Chris is going to pick us up from the airport when we land, as we land about 6.30 in the morning. If not, then he'll organise a taxi for us the night before we land. I've prepared the fax to send to Pop Century and I'm giving that to my mum today - she will be sending it on Tuesday or Wednesday for me. It's a bit lame I think but DH thought it was cute. Mum also has to ring to confirm the IllumiNations Cruise on Thursday - they said 2 weeks before so that will be 2 weeks to the day All I have left to do today is finish some washing so that I can finish the packing, print out an itinerary and packing list for Mum n Jez, and sort out the menus I printed off All Ears Net. I've printed out menus of table service restaurants to keep on us in case Mum and Jez want to try anywhere and we can possibly make an ADR on a particular day or day before, plus I've pasted the counter service restaurants into a table and printed them out as columns so I can keep them handy in my Passporter. This is so we don't have to wonder from place to place looking at what we want to eat, I can just pull the menus out and we can head for one eatery. There is method to my madness I showed my mum the stuff I'd printed out and said to her yes, I am a nerd - she replied that I'm just organised Well I think that's pretty much it - I don't think I'll have much more to update now so look out for the full report in about 3 and a bit weeks time. I'm not taking my laptop this time so no live trip report In one week's time I'll be in my Happy Place Thanks for reading |
